This large A-frame is a relaxing family setting with enough space for boat or trailer parking. Watch the wildlife from the multiple decks or even from the bed. This is a great home base for your Eastern KY adventures or a wonderful quiet getaway. It has electric fireplaces, a wood fire pit, a gas firepit, an electric smoker, a charcoal grill, and two creeks to enjoy during your stay.

I think this was our third time staying at this property. My son and I love the house and especially love that the property is dog friendly with a big yard for the dogs to run and play. It’s just a perfect location for family.

We had a lovely, long weekend at A Frame of Mind! So many extra touches that one does not expect and very, very well equipped with everything we needed. We did some cooking and found plenty of supplies. We had to be very watchful of the little ones with the spiral stairs and the outdoor patio in front, but no issues. Martha was super responsive and very kind. Would highly recommend.

Carter Caves Get Away

My family consisted of my husband, mother in law, 2 grown sons and their significant others. We take a family hiking trip every year and this year chose Carter Caves! The location of the house was wonderful for visiting the cave area. The bedrooms and number of bathrooms worked so well for all of us. The family room was comfortable. We had trouble with the TV wanting to watch the horse race. The kitchen had more than everything we could have needed!! The outdoor property was beautiful! Our host Martha was so easy to communicate with. We loved our time at A Frame Of Mind!

A perfect getaway

This house is so beautiful! It was so amazing, we kept talking about all the little details inside and out the whole stay. We did bring a little one with us, we were a little worried about him with the stairs. We all made sure he didn't hurt himself on the stairs. That was the only concern we had. Note to self don’t take little ones there if they’re walking. We absolutely love this place. Hopefully we can come back again during another season. Thank you so much Martha!

Olive Hill Trip

The house was better than expected. The kids loved the lower level games/toys, spiral staircase, and the fire pit and smores. We had the right number of rooms, beds and bathrooms for our group of 9 and the washer/dryer came in handy. And we really appreciated all the goodies that you provided. We took a Cave tour at Carter Caves and the kids did gem mining and geocaching there also. We ate at the Mexican restaurant and visited my Dad's gravesite at the family Cemetery in nearby Ault and attended a family reunion in Morehead so A Frame of Mind was the perfect place to accommodate us on this trip. Martha - you were a great host!

The Golf Club

Our stay was outstanding. Me and my friends typically try to pick a weekend to go golfing. The property was beautiful. The history behind the home was really interesting as well. The house offered us total privacy plenty of places to sleep with comfortable amenities. The hospitality was above and beyond any other hosts house that I have stayed at. They left a kit for s’mores for the fire pit. Homemade salsa cookies and cinnamon rolls. All of us took notice at the pride they took and being hosts. Every single one of us made great memories at “A Frame of Mind”. It was a trip that each one of us will take to our grave. To anyone who might be reading this review, you will not be disappointed in this house. I would highly recommend Martha is a host and “A Frame of Mind” is your place to stay if you’re considering visiting Grayson Lake. Martha you’re an amazing host with an amazing place and I hope I take another trip down there in the future. Thanks for the amazing hospitality.

Family vacation. Relaxing

We loved the house and history of the house. Fun outside activities and inside activities. We enjoyed sunny and rainy days. Nice vacation home and loved area. Away from noise and big cities. Enjoyed caving and swimming nearby. Cooked meals at lovely house and enjoyed the country surroundings. Kids played also. Teens enjoyed the stay.

Beautiful and comfortable!!

There were 9 adults and everyone was impressed! The hospitality was amazing. The deck was beautiful. The host responded quickly to questions. I have stayed at several VRBOs and this one was my favorite.

Bonding Time

Our trip was bittersweet, as we arrived as a group ranging from close to barely accquainted friends/family for a memorial service. This home seemed magical as it gave us the perfect space to join together, cook, (eat!), laugh, and share stories. The openness of it allowed for us to gather together, while separate areas lent privacy when needed. Most of us were in from FL, so the extra touch of cool air and the beginnings of leaves changing made it even more spectacular. oved the fresh herbs and veggies growing around the patio, adding to the comforting "home" feel. There were also locally sourced goodies provided, though with our short stay I regret we didn't take full advantage. The home is close to the airport, as well as to the family we were there to visit with. Being a "flat-lander", I appreciated that the drive wasn't too steep as well. The outdoor spaces are plentiful and showcase the beauty of the surrounding nature. Overall, I would definitely recommend this beautiful home for a stay at any time of the year!

Awesome awesome awesome

We stayed here for a couple of weeks for out of town work instead of a hotel. Everything was perfect. The owner was really wonderful. We had to extend our stay a couple of times and she was terrific. The property was clean, modern and perfect.

Exactly what we were looking for!!

We were looking for a nice open, relaxing, peaceful place to unwind for a few days while my daughter and her friend were home on spring break. The property itself is amazing, open and spacious while still having a comfort vibe. Having plants in the house is always a plus and added to the feeling of being at home. Having a fully stocked kitchen where we made pasta from scratch was another bonus that just made our stay even more memorable. We got some great pictures of a few different birds feeding on the back deck feeder and also one very happy and well-fed squirrel.

Caving and hiking stay

Lovely property we stayed with family on hiking and caving adventures. Carter and cascade caves very close. Welcoming package was nice. We saw shooting stars!

A frame

Rental process was accurate and efficient. Lots of outdoor space to gather. We used almost every amenity and all worked as expected. House manual was helpful and covered any question we might have had. The main floor is the place to be.

Great getaway

The family-built house was great for our weekend getaway. Martha was the most responsive host and responded quickly. This was the first time we rented a place in which the host lives. We had the whole place to ourselves but it was interesting. Martha also provided many needed supplies and some local treats. It was a wonderful and relaxing retreat.
