Paraíso carácter Lovers '

Patagonia Oaks es una hermosa casa construida sobre 11. 5 acres en los bosques de robles de Flux Canyon. Estamos al lado del bosque nacional de Coronado en el sureste de Arizona.
Nuestra casa está totalmente amueblado y tiene 2 grandes porches para disfrutar de los amaneceres y puestas de sol sobre las montañas de los alrededores. Patagonia Oaks es un paraíso para los amantes de la naturaleza. Más de 80 especies de aves se han observado desde la comodidad de nuestros porches, incluyendo 8 especies de colibríes y 6 especies de pájaros carpinteros. Comederos y semillas se proporcionan para el disfrute de nuestros huéspedes.
Estamos ubicados a sólo 3. 5 millas de la Patagonia, que ofrece un ambiente tranquilo, pero no demasiado remoto. Tenemos grandes árboles, un corto sendero con hermosas vistas de los mountians de los alrededores y un cielo ni una piedrecita increíble noche. Estamos a sólo minutos de la ciudad, así como la Patagonia Lake State Park y también de la Nature Conservancy Sonoita Creek Preserve. Estamos a poco más de una hora en coche de Tucson y menos de una hora de Tombstone, Karchner Cavernas, varios campos de golf, compras en Tubac. Senderismo, ciclismo, equitación, etc. aquí hay algo para todo el mundo, vienen, disfrutar y relajarse!
El final del verano y principios del otoño es verde y exuberante, con una abundancia de flores, mariposas y un increíble número de colibríes. Ven a ver SouthEast Arizona en la época más bonita del año.
FYI En enero de 2019 compré todos los muebles nuevos de la sala de estar, compré 2 televisores nuevos, reemplacé las dos puertas del porche y reemplacé el calentador de agua caliente. No se me ocurrió en el momento de tomar fotos de las cosas nuevas. Agregaré más fotos cuando regrese allí.

Wildlife hideaway

The owner reached out to provide directions. It was helpful in locating the property. The home is comfortable and had everything we needed. Perfect location for birdwatching. Javelinas and mule deer visited, too. Quiet and peaceful getaway.

Nice getaway

It was a wonderful escape from Colorado's February weather. Lucked out and had warm weather for our stay and truly loved the home and all the bird feeders. There were many birds starting at our arrival and throughout stay. We enjoyed the small town of Patagonia and a trip to Patagonia Lake and to Tubac. Very restful.

We enjoyed the privacy of this Nature Lover’s Paradise. Down a dirt road a bit, but an easy drive to Patagonia. The home had everything we needed. The screened porch was a great place to have coffee and watch birds. The home is as described by the host and he was very responsive when we had questions. We look forward to staying here again.

relaxing house with lots of wildlife

This is a very comfortable house in a good location for people interested in seeing Arizona birds and exploring the area. It was outside of Patagonia and required driving several miles on unpaved roads, but we didn't mind. It was worth it to be in a quiet setting.The only things I'd like to see them change would be to make sure the smoke detectors are fixed and perhaps install grab bars in the main shower.

One beautiful location in the Patagonia area and one we would gladly return to: a genuine respite from Tucson heat and city life, and a place to truly savor the remarkable borderland we live in. The screened porch is incredible, and we spent many hours just watching and listening to birds. Saw our first Rufous Hummingbird. Also saw a Javelina family, some coyotes and a lot of bats. Really enjoyed the abundant QUIET. Great house with all the amenities, including Field Guides. Thank you Jim.P.S. Watched the movie “The Big Year”, a perfectly hilarious film about bird nerds!

If you hate birds, don't come here.

So relaxing. Totally furnished, comfortable. Enjoyed the rustic Flux Canyon Road to the cabin. Perfect base for exploring the area. A new adventure no matter which side road taken. Hope to return. Thanks Jim for being such a thoughtful host.

Birding

Very comfortable living area and a comfortable bed. The living room is nicely decorated and the kitchen has plenty of utensils. The house is pretty isolated, and requires two wet unbridged crossings of a creek. It’s only three miles from Patton house hummingbird center.

Nature Lover’s Paradise Says It All

We were visiting from Oregon looking to salvage a Southwest birdwatching trip after our truck blew an engine outside of Phoenix. We saw that Patagonia, AZ was a birding hotspot and Jim’s place was a perfect base. A few miles out of “downtown” Patagonia on a well maintained gravel road, it is a well stocked one level ranch style house with a huge screened porch in the back surrounded by bird feeders and water tubs that attract a great variety of birds and a squadron of javelina that came by every night. Only downside was sugar ants in the kitchen, apparently a first and maybe due to the very dry conditions this year.

Secluded Bird Watching Haven

We spent 3 relaxing weeks watching birds, hiking, reading and relaxing. The property is as described and is in a relatively secluded spot which is what we were looking for. Nearby Nature Conservancy bird watching, hiking at Ramsey Canyon, wine tasting near Soniota. Close to Tubac, Nogales and Tucson if you need more social activities! The host was easily accessible by text and phone and was very responsive.

Tree-studded mountainside retreat

We stayed nearly 2 weeks and enjoyed every minute at the Nature Lovers’ Paradise home! Close to town yet secluded. Very comfortable, well-equipped home. Peace and quiet with beauty surrounding in the canyon. Spectacular screened porch room facing up the mountainside where we spent all our time watching birds in dappled light. Intending to return!

Quiet, not quite isolated but isolated enough!

Nice cabin in rural community with not many people around. Outfitted with all the essentials, this is a nicely appointed property with comfortable beds. If cellular service is important my T-Mobile signal was mostly non-existent, but my mother's AT&T service was stronger. Two thumbs up!

Lovely oasis

We spent a week at this place and loved it. We loved hanging out on the enclosed patio watching the large variety of birds come to the feeders, and were lucky enough to see a coati wander near the house once. The house was very comfortable, we stayed in late April with outside temps in the 80s, but the house stayed cool. We never even had to turn on the A/C. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed, laundry worked well. The internet was slow (high latency) but worked well for streaming some shows at night. We will definitely stay here again if we are back in the area.

Living in a Wonderland

The most fascinating place we've ever stayed. Never a dull moment, the multitude of birds and wildlife kept us entertained daily. I added over 30 new species to my life list, and they were up close and personal. No scanning the treetops with binoculars. They came right to the feeders within feet of the windows and screened porches. The acorn woodpeckers are like cartoon birds, and the hummingbirds were so numerous, we often had 8 or 9 at one feeder. We saw kit foxes and had visits from a coati and collared peccaries. Too many new critters to enumerate here. The house suited us admirably. Bright, clean and simple. Easy to care for and very comfortable. We loved the screened porches, with the 270 degree vistas and wildlife. Flux Canyon is a great place to walk and hike, and only a couple miles to Patagonia for groceries, library, galleries, etc. 18 miles from the border, and Nogales, it's easy to visit Mexico. And of course, it is in the heart of the sky islands, surrounded by other mountain ranges, all fascinating. I guess I can't say enough about what a find this place was and how lucky for us that we were able to rent it for the month of February. I tell folks it was like living in the middle of an aviary.

Great place, beautiful surroundings

We had a wonderful time during our stay. The house is very comfortable, clean and well appointed. The back screen porch was perfect for watching the birds, and for just hanging out. The surrounding area is gorgeous, with lots of oaks and mesquite and glimpses of the surrounding mountains. We will definitely be back.

Quiet, great location, great pre-arrival communication

As pictured/described in listing, with a lot of bird feeders and some weedy overgrowth (couldn't find trail). So quiet and dark outside at night. Access to property was over a bumpy road and very bumpy driveway. Super comfy bed and plush towels. Great pre-arrival communication regarding access, water, trash, etc. The house is a bit dated, but you're not here for the house. No internet, but I had a weak Verizon signal that was adequate. Great location for access to the touristy and/or remote spots in SE Arizona.

Hidden Gem

This house was the perfect base camp for a week of birding. It is clean and well equipped for cooking, There are plenty of linens and the beds are comfortable. But the best feature is the screen porch. Fill the bird feeders, sit back and enjoy the birds, coatimundi and Javalina’s.

Great Location for birding in the Patagonia area

We really enjoyed our stay near Patagonia. The cabin was very comfortable and located near enough to town to be convenient, but far enough away to be fairly secluded. Bird feeders (seed and nectar), a birdbath and water pan were available to attract birds and wildlife (javalina were daily visitors) so relaxing at "home" was as enjoyable as being out and about at area birding spots. We would be happy to stay there again the next time we go to that area.

Great property!

We enjoyed every minute of our stay here in mid-January. We got a lot of birds visiting the sunflower and hummingbird feeders and loved watching them from the porch. The property is close to town and a perfect location for exploring the surrounding area. It's very peaceful and we even heard an owl hooting one night. The San Rafael Valley at sunset was stunning. Jim is an excellent host - the house is very comfortable and the kitchen has everything you need to cook all your meals there if you are so inclined. We are hoping to visit again - perhaps during spring or fall migration. Thank you!

Patagonia Stay

We loved the town of Patagonia. The house is in a beautiful location and is the perfect home for a family of five. We explored during the day, cooked in evenings, and enjoyed the wildlife from the covered porch. Lots of quality family time without the distraction of the outside world. Jim was easy to work with and very accommodating. Highly recommend!

Awesome house

We absolutely loved our stay here. The owner was so easy to work with. The house has everything you could possible want and the beds are very comfortable. It was so nice sitting on the porch each morning drinking coffee and watching the birds. We had Javelina in the backyard each night which was really fun. We also saw Montezuma Quail on the grounds.We look forward to staying there again.

We very much enjoyed our stay in this comfortable home. The bird watching is incredible, and when you tire of that, Patagonia is just a short drive away. Directions were on point and the property is very well cared for. Thanks for the visit!

Our house is at an elevation of 4062 feet in the beautiful Patagonia Mountains. Our vegatation zone is oak-savanna, not Sonoran desert. Our temperatures are 10-15 degrees cooler than that of Tucson.The weather here is terrific!

Patagonia Oaks is 1 1/2 miles from the main road. We have no traffic noise, just the sounds of nature. The wildlife viewing, especially the bird watching is superb!
