Blucation is a cozy and inviting coastal home. It’s located on St. Helena Island, a place where you can have fresh seafood, & fresh fruits and vegetables everyday. Most importantly, the various waters that’s located around the island is refreshing. Come and enjoying boating, fishing and kayaking or simply sit in the back yard and get some R&R.

Best deal on St. Helena!

This place is a rare find. It may not be the fanciest place, but the location is spectacular. We spent most of our time on Hunting Island, which is only 8 minutes away. It’s also an easy drive into Beautiful Beaufort. Shiela was so responsive and she left the best treats of any vacation rental we’ve used. I hope to get to return to this little escape soon!

You get what you pay for

I will start with positives. The location is close to beach. The air conditioner, bed and washer/dryer were good. Now the bad, the yard had broken glass scattered in front yard. I was worried to let my dog walk outside. When we walked in the trailor had a very unpleasant smell, maybe mothballs? We ended up buying candles to cover smell. The house was clean except for the floors. When I walked on without shoes my feet were filthy. The curtains that are up are shear and the cousins that stay in the shed in the backyard certainly could see in the back door at night. I found it strange that two of the bedrooms in this trailer are locked so I think that when this unit is not rented someone lives there. The icing on the cake was Saturday night the neighbors had a party and had loud music till about 2 am. I made a mistake trying to save some money on our vacation but I learned my lesson. Also please take the expired food out of the freezer.

Not what we thought it would be!

I’ll start with the positive….Shelia was VERY responsive to us with any questions we had while on property. We had a hard time finding the driveway and had to call her close to midnight and she was very nice about it. The home was very clean, although there was a musky smoke smell. Now for the things we didn’t care for….. The amount of glass in the yard was ridiculous, our dog actually cut her foot while out on a potty break. There was a dishwasher, but we were told the day after check-in that we could not use it. We were also told that same day that we could only wash once during the stay, luckily we didn’t need to. The listing does not mention that the “property managers” live in a shed literally 50 feet from the back door and their cars are parked under the tree in the driveway. There is no mention of two rooms that are padlocked shut in the home, which is very very creepy and strange. The bed size is not listed in the description which would have been nice to know as well. If I was a property owner, I would have something posted in the home with the needed information such as WiFi, local restaurant suggestions and more. We will not be recommending this home to others! We actually left 2 days before our scheduled time to leave.
