Aloha I'm Mike, a native of western Montana, who enjoys the Hawaiian lifestyle and welcome to my home away from home.

Waikoloa Hills is a great condominium community with pool, hot tub, discounted golf and across from Highlands Shopping Center and 10-20 minutes away from 5 world class beaches. This is an easy access, single level, ground floor unit with a spacious lanai for enjoying a morning coffee or an evening cocktail. This is an updated property, newly remodeled with all the amenities needed for a great vacation. It sleeps 4 comfortably in 2 bedrooms with a sofa sleeper for additional guest There is a fully stocked kitchen.with all the cookware to create any kind of a meal you desire, a blender for a smoothy or cocktail, a gas grill on the lanai, dinning tables both inside and out and golf is literally across the street and the clubhouse is 3 blocks away.

Included are all the amenities for a great day at the beach or that day trip of seeing the sights. Beach towels, umbrella, beach chairs, boogie boards,snorkel gear and day coolers are at your disposal.

The condo is very charming, clean and comfortable. Mike is very good about connecting, helping with questions and being available if you need him. A real pleasure to stay there!

A Great Place To Stay on The Big Island

Our stay at Mike’s place was wonderful! It was the perfect size for three of us and it was very pleasant. We cooked most of our meals there and had everything we needed. We really enjoyed using the boogie boards and snorkel gear. There is enough gear for a family of four and it is all in good shape. It was nice not to have to rent any of those items. The beds were comfortable and there is plenty of closet space and drawers if you want to use them for your clothes. The location is great and the parking is easy. We drove all over the island during our stay and this was a nice place to come home to. Mike was quick to respond to questions while we were staying there and provided recommendations for dining and activities. We enjoyed dining on the lenai and were visited by turkeys and quail every day. The grocery store was conveniently right across the street and there are some new coffee shops and restaurants opening up nearby. A few things to note: there is no AC, but as long as you open the sliders and windows when it cools off outside and close them in the morning before it warms up outside, it is pleasant enough inside. Also, make sure to not leave out any dirty dishes in the kitchen sink or you will get tiny ants and other tiny bugs in the kitchen. As long as you wash everything after each meal and don’t leave any dirty dishes or food out, you won’t get ants. All in all we would definitely recommend this place and would stay there again if we came back to the Big Island.

Beautiful place with beach gears

We had wonderful time in Hawaii. Lots of beach chairs, umbrella, snorkeling and boogie boards. good amount of spices and Ziplocs. Two queen size mattresses were little too soft for us, but everything else was superb. Mike answered our questions promptly via text. Easy Check-in/out. We will be back for sure. Thank you Mike!

very clean/quite homeaway home

Very good location, other than there are not many good choices for restaurants. Quite/safe neighborhood. The house is spacious, and the laundry machines /beach chairs are very handy. The host responses very quickly. The bed in the second bedroom is kind of squeaky.

Perfect size for 4 and wonderful location for Island fun

Great location for two couples. Very quiet and the temperature was perfect. Beds were very comfortable. We enjoyed the bodyboards and snorkeling equipment. Would certainly recommend this location location

Great home base!

Great host - he texted us to let us know all the details. The condo was well stocked, including boogie boards! They were perfect for our day at hapuna beach. We walked to the grocery store, conveniently across the street. Loved seeing the turkeys, pigs, etc walk through the back yard. Would definitely recommend!

Very cute, well appointed vacation rental away from tourist central… the location provides breezes and cooler nights than beachside…. Which is 10 min away…

Waikoala Village Condo

This little working family condo community is made up of ten units with four residences in each and was very welcoming and friendly. The ground floor condo is a little dark in the morning but that can be good after full days in the sun. We had breakfast out on the patio every morning and that backyard view can be interesting - we saw wild turkeys and the neighbors said they occasionally see wild pigs and stray cattle! As long as you are OK with being up the hill and away from the coast about 5-6 miles, and not walking distance to a beach, you will probably really like this place. This condo is less than 20 minutes away from one of my favorite beaches in all of the Hawaiian islands is Hapuna Beach. Grocery store, espresso, and other stores are only across the street, 2- minute walk.

Well appointed condo...convenient to northwest beaches

Great condo conveniently located near groceries and my favorite thrift store, Dusty Donkey. Walked to both numerous times. Nice to have beach gear available, very thoughtful to provide these items as it makes it possible to not have to check a bag full of these large items thus, saving those fees for other fun things! When there was an issue, John was right on it and he was very personable. Loved waking up to the birds singing. Even the turkeys were fun...who doesn't love a parade?

Awesome!

This property was perfect for our group. We had plenty of room. The host was great to work with through the whole process. He called several times to make sure everything was fine. There were plenty of beach towels and beach equipment to use. The kitchen was fully stocked with dishes and cookware. It was great that there was a grill for us to use. The location was perfect for us. We wanted a nice quiet place. It was close to many beaches and activities. The pool area was perfect for us. We spent many hours there. One drawback was not having fans to help keep the condo cool. There were ceiling fans but they just weren't enough to keep it cool while we were there. We would recommend this property to others looking for a place near Kona. We will rent this property again. Mahalo

Great home base for exploring!

The condo was in a convenient central location for exploring the island, with the great Kohala Coast beaches only 15 minutes away. It was outfitted nicely with beach towels, snorkels/fins, beach chairs, boogie boards and noodles, which we used and appreciated. Nicely appointed kitchen, with blender, coffee maker etc. The lanai was very pleasant, with your own gas grill and wild turkeys roaming the area. We enjoyed the condo. Would stay again!

Quiet and peaceful

My husband and I spent two weeks here for our 30th anniversary. I do not live in a noisy neighborhood, but something about the environment was peaceful, which we both needed. My husband spent a significant amount of time reading. He sat outside, on the chair by the TV, or laying on the sofa. He got some much needed down time I enjoyed the hot tub. I was in pain when we arrived and after a couple evenings out there, with no one else around, and using the jets on various muscles I was basically pain free. We slept in the bedroom with the patio door, so to get the breeze and it is a darker room. I figured I was in trouble because the mattress was much softer than ours. I was pleasantly surprised by its comfort. We purchased all we needed at the grocery store across the street. This was the first time in all ours travels that we stayed somewhere with an actual kitchen. I loved having control over what I cooked and ate. Although we did eat in a few wonderful restaurants in Waimea and Hilo plus the Italian one in the shopping center, all of which had island grown vegetables, fresh fish and homemade bread. We also ate at Los Tres Mex in the shopping square, and Doug had pancakes and coffee with the rooster who was a regular at Lava Java. Oh yes, one evening we ate at the golf course restaurant on the patio, which was beautiful, and attended the luau at Mauna Kea on our anniversary. I took my water tester, and the TDS from the tap was not far from bottled water TDS. So I used the large bottle water container, which we purchased before testing, to freeze and put in a cooler for our day outings, and as a way to drink cold tap water. At first the drive to the village seemed long, but after a couple times the drive went quickly. Besides that the scenery is not typical, so looking at the hills, grass, lava, and keeping an eye out for the tiny goats made the drive go quickly. Actually, the village is central for traveling to the northern part of the island, east to Hilo, and is close to the two larger volcanoes. The back road that comes out a bit south of Kona was scenic and sometimes a faster route to the south-western part of the island. Returning to the condo after our outings felt more like returning home and more pleasant than even high end hotels - no one disturbing us from housecleaning. Additionally, the washer and dryer were handy. Although, watch out for the washer during the spin cycle - it is noisy and somewhat amusing.

Great golf holidays

This is a very comfortable attractive condo near shops, pool and golf course. It was well stocked in the kitchen with whatever you needed for utensils and cooking equipment. We enjoyed barbeque a lot. We played golf almost every day during our 2 weeks stay.

Golfed up a storm

Great place to stay, close proximity to all that the island has to offer. It is well supplied with everything that makes a great stay, from anything needed for cooking a great meal to all the beach gear needed for a beautiful day at the beach. Very comfortable furnishings and a stylish interior makes this a great place to stay at that won't break the bank. I really like the golf course there, a 5 minute walk to the club house or a 2 min. drive and well maintained. I had a great time

Great family condo

Stayed as a family of 4 for the week. Great condo, very clean. The kids loved that the pool was close by. The kitchen was fully equipped to cook most of our meals there. The area itself was a little remote for us since it was a 15 minute drive to the beach, but there is a grocery store and a couple restaurants across the street that are within walking distance.

Good place to stay

The condition of the place was good - It looked like the floors were new, most of the furniture was in good condition, and it looked like the maintenance of the place was kept up. The kitchen is enough to prepare a meal or a snack during daytrips, and there is a grill in the back. Across the street is the grocery store, which helps saved some time with finding food when staying there. Other nice local features were the pool and hot tub in the condo complex and the golf course that was about a 5 minute drive away. The location was a good central location for a lot of the features of the island too - There are several beaches that were only 15 - 30 minutes drive away. It was also only 15-30 minutes away from some of shopping areas near some of the resorts, too. Also, 30-45 minute drive to the airport, about an hour to Kailua-Kona (one of the nearest major towns) and 1-2 hours to Hilo and Volcano National Park on the other side of the island.

Great Place !

I spent 3 weeks here and had a great time, played some golf, site seeing and hit the beaches. The place is clean and well cared for, used the BBQ and loved hanging out on the lanai in the evenings, very peaceful. The pool and hot tub are never crowded but very appreciated. The place has snorkeling gear, beach chairs, cooler etc. which we used daily! We'll be back!

Great place, planning on staying again!

My daughter and I stayed at this condo in April of 2017. It was a great place for our vacation and fit our needs perfectly; both nicely furnished and spacious. The bedrooms were comfortable, quiet, and clean. We were able to feel at home with plenty of space in the dressers and closets to store our belongings. It was nice to be on the ground floor without the hassle of stairs (and it helped keep the unit cool). The neighbors were friendly and the unit offered great places to sit and relax both inside and outside on the lanai. The condo is well maintained as is the pool, hot tub, and BBQ area which are all a short walk from the front door. The place also has its own BBQ grill which we used several times. The condo is conveniently located near a store, restaurants, and a golf course. In addition, there is snorkel gear and beach chairs provided, which is a nice touch. Our overall experience left us very happy. For people looking for a place to stay, we highly recommend this unit -- the condo could easily accommodate additional people and would be great for kids. Thanks for providing us with such a wonderful vacation place to relax and enjoy. We’ll be back, see you again next year!

Time of my life !!!

I stayed here at a first floor condo with a lanai that spread out to the back yard .It was great having your own BBQ write there made making dinner a pleasure. The living room had very comfortable furniture in it ,looked like it was new with a big T V mounted on a swivel so you could turn it any way you wanted,very nice. I had many guest show up while I was there, staying for a week to 10 days in the spare bedroom and said it was very comfortable. The master bedroom was very nice too with great decor and a wonderful bed. This is a great location for seeing all the sights with out breaking the bank. There are 5 beaches in 10 to 15 minutes away, Kona is half hour, Volcano Park 90 minutes and a great golf course write across the street(played there 4 times) with discounted prices for guest.So in conclusion I had the TIME OF MY LIFE. I feel that I have made this condo into a very comfortable unit that won't break the bank. The previous owner had won a couch and matching chair on the price is right in 1976, the couch I had to get rid of ( to a good home ) but the chair is in the guest bedroom and still looks good.
