Just OK

Furniture not what is pictured (futon in living room, not sectional), beds uncomfortable, broken tiles in bathroom floors (lift up with wet feet), neighborhood VERY run down, poor communication regarding check-in (additional requirements 2.5 hours before check-in). Spacious house.

Average at best

The property was near Alamodome and Riverwalk. Neighborhood was ok but we must have been there during the city’s mass garbage pickup from the curb. Once that was gone it felt more normal. The home has several issues that should be addressed: broken tiles, flooring warps, curled rugs, etc. Tub didn’t have a stopper so it really isn’t a tub, which we needed to bathe our toddler.

Horrible Experience

Pictures and description of the property are very misleading. While the appearance of the property may be somewhat pleasant, there were many corners cut to make this place appear the way it is. Location: Sketchy and unsafe neighborhood. Homeless people under the influence of drugs freely roaming the neighborhood area. Very apparent this is a low cost of living place. Property: ok first impression on kitchen area. Couches and most of beds were of poor quality. Ambient temperature control was limited to 70 degrees. Shower water limited to Luke warm temperature. Overall this was a terrible experience. Corners were cut to make this property even listed. VRBO or the host of this property should be held responsible for such a listing!

Do not book this place!

This was the most horrible rental experience we have ever had with VRBO. Honestly we may never use VRBO again after this. The photos of the neighborhood are NOT from the area where this house is located. Look up the address on google earth before you book! The property managers literally hassled my husband and I for days right before our check in day demanding we email them photos of our ID’s and credit card for an additional $300 deposit: none of which was disclosed to us at the time of booking. When we refused to do so because of privacy concerns they held the property (which was already paid for via the VRBO app) hostage saying they would not give us the access code until we met their demands. We contacted VRBO and we’re on hold for 45mins just for them to say they could/would do nothing about it. We had no choice but to send the photos. Now I’m praying my identity isn’t stolen/sold for profit on the dark web. When we pulled up to the property we were shocked to see a man exiting the house with a huge spray can probably filled with pesticide; he had just sprayed the house down with chemicals right before we are about to enter it with our young kids…so thoughtful. The house is not nice inside. It was remodeled but not done well at all. The beds are so terribly uncomfortable that no one got a good nights rest. The bunk bed is so unstable even a child could not sleep on the top bunk for fear of it completely collapsing. The large master suit had no A/C and no hot water in the shower which had a broken door hinge. There is a spot in the living room where the floor nearly gives way under your feet. You can literally see outside through the base of the fireplace. There are fist punch holes in several of the doors. The neighborhood is not great and that’s putting it nicely. There is a smaller house in the back where other people were staying so there really is no privacy and parking is TIGHT. The only positive is that it is close to the river walk area. If you are considering renting this place, beware!

Great place

Stayed with family for a quick getaway. Home was clean, affordable, and communication with managers was easy. Would do it again. Plenty of space, house was well stocked. Parking was a little hard. Driveway was nice but backing out and pulling in difficult cause street was really small. If you have a bigger vehicle it is a tight squeeze but manageable.
