Amazing stay in Black Mountain! Check in was easy, the location couldn’t be beat, and my kids loved playing with the fun games provided. Being walking distance to cute shops and delicious restaurants was a highlight! Thank you so much!

Great place to stay! Plenty of room and everything we needed. Perfectly located right in town. We enjoyed staying there very much.

What a great place! Our family of 4 had a great time. It was so nice being able to walk all over, run back to the place to grab a jacket, etc. The dart board on the side porch got a lot of action! Everything was very well stocked, including soap in the bathrooms and shampoo, etc. In case “loft” doesn’t stand out to anyone else, the bunk bed room has a few feet opening between the top of the wall and the ceiling, so light/sound can come it. It wasnt an issue at all for our 11 & 7 year olds, and there’s a TV in the primary bedroom if you really need it dark! Having an extra bathroom was lovely, and we all slept so well. Great place and we all hope to go back soon!

I stayed here with one of my sons 4 years ago, and wrote in the guest book id be back in a year wiyh my wife and daughter. Took a little longer, but we had a wonderful time. Brunch at Open Oven next door, mountain biking in Old Fort, shopping in Black Mountain, a lovely dinner prepared n the very cleverly laid out kitchen. Highly recommend. Stephanie is a wonderful host.

Steps from the best of Black Mountain

Behind that tucked-back front door is a clean and comfortable spot with an ideal location just steps from well-established shops and restaurants. The teenager appreciated the bunk beds with a separate half bathroom. Off-street parking was an extra bonus, particularly during busy Sundays with a large church next door. Wandering next door to Open Oven for breakfast was truly convenient for a quick morning plate, but get there early as it gets busy fast. Despite the great location, we heard zero noise from foot/car traffic. If your priority is proximity to town and walkability, this property is a gem!

Great stay, great location

Great place to stay right in downtown Black Mountain. We were able to park our car and didn’t need it for the rest of the weekend as everything is walkable in this cute little town. It was the perfect size for a small family for the weekend. Good communication from the host, checkin was perfect and zero issues while there. Will definitely stay there again!

Amazing location

I am so happy about this stay! I will never stay anywhere else when I come to Black Mountain. This wonderful rental is next door to a wonderful bakery / brunch and dinner spot. Their breakfast is great. Get the biscuits and gravy you will not be disappointed. I can't wait to come back. The hospitality is amazing. Hope to see you soon!

Cannot beat the location

My family of four loved our visit to black mountain. This rental was comfortable, clean and everything we needed for our three night stay. I cannot imagine a more convenient location. You walk out the door and are in the middle of the downtown area. We loved it.

For location and ease of access to downtown Black Mountain, there is no better place to stay! We come to the area often and this is definitely the most walkable property we have stayed in. The place is clean and has lots of storage for bags, a nice drop zone for shoes and bags right inside, and having a half bath for the bunkbed room is awesome. We found the bed comfortable and appreciated the thick curtains to keep the bedroom dark.However, if you have children who go to bed earlier than you, the “loft-style” description in the listing bears more explaining. I had noticed the exposed ductwork and more city/in-town location and assumed they were describing the aesthetics of the apartment. However, the walls in the bunkbed room do not reach the ceiling and therefore the room is open to the light and sound from the living room and kitchen. If privacy or kids’ schedules are sensitive for you, this may be an issue. Hosts were responsive and easy to reach via vrbo message.

Wonderful property

My husband and I had a wonderful week at this property. It was clean, well-equipped and exactly as pictured. We were working remotely and the wifi worked perfectly. And the location couldn’t be beat when we were ready for breaks. Everything in town was within walking distance, as was Lake Tomahawk. It was an easy ride on our bikes up to Montreat. We had big plans to make the short drive to Asheville, but ended up being so happy where we were that we never got around to it.

Refreshing

This property is a hidden gem! The space is quiet, close to everything in black mountain, and comfortable on all levels. The screened in porch was a great hangout spot, the kitchen is very user friendly, and the bed and living room was very spacious even more than we needed for 3. I’d imagine for young families it would be great for three kids and two adults, and if it’s all adults there’s plenty of room for four people. It’s always a relief to stay in a clean place with all amenities, especially with comfortable beds. We would love to come back and I hope we can do so soon.

Great Stay

Property is very clean, wonderfully decorated, and we loved the little "extras" we came across such as coffee, board games, filtered water, etc. It appears to be a business converted into living space. That did great making the most of the space. Beds were comfortable. Patio was pleasent to sit on. No view there - it's the back of buildings, but we enjoyed having coffee and visiting back there. Location is fabulous. You can't ask for better. We stepped out the door and had breakfast at the bakery next door. By the way, the banana foster waffles are a must!

great apartment in downtown Black Mountain

This apartment was clean, comfortable, and well stocked. Perfect location in downtown Black Mountain, right beside Open Oven Restaurant (great breakfast). Our only issue was the entrance was very difficult to find in the dark. We pulled on the restaurant doors.. didn't see the apartment door at all as it was in a dark and unlit recessed area. Once we were in, all was wonderful. I'd like to apologize to the owner for forgetting to start the dishwasher, especially since it was really the only thing on the checkout checklist! Thanks for the great stay.

The listing photos don’t show how nice the place really is. It has HIGH ceilings and is VERY open and spacious. You can leave and walk a block and you’re smack in downtown. We will definitely stay here again. Met the owners, who were great, they own the bakery brunch place next door.

Amazing location

Such an amazing place. Everything was absolutely perfect. My friends and I didn’t want to leave. We really enjoyed playing darts on the porch and just relaxing. We loved the convenience of having the restaurant right next door Which we thoroughly enjoyed for brunch. We’ve already decided that this will the place that we’ll stay on our next visit to Black Mountain. Highly Recommend this place.

Comfy accomodations and great location!

My family of 5 spent the weekend in Black Mountain on a college visit for one of my daughters. The property is roomy and comfortable, as advertised. We enjoyed breakfast at the adjacent bakery both mornings of our stay - excellent food and service. Downtown Black Mountain area shops and restaurants are within walking distance, you're a short drive to Montreat, and getting back and forth to Asheville is no problem. This is not a cabin in the mountains...you are in town. Perfect for our weekend trip.

If this site gave 10 stars, then 10 stars it would be!

First and foremost, the owners are a couple who own a restaurant/bakery literally right next door! They were the most hospitable folks I have ever encountered upon my travels renting homes on sites like this one! They offered me great ideas of places to hike, sightsee, eat/drink! They went above and beyond! The food at Open Oven was fantastic, I ate there 4 out of my 5 days. Shrimp and grits and Chicken and Waffles were superb! The house was super clean! Bed was super comfy! They have a propane mini fireplace, that was wonderful for the cool nights and while drinking my hot tea/wine and watching movies on the cozy couch! Location cannot be beat in Black Mountain! I walked to everywhere in the town! I would love to come stay here again if available upon my next visit! Highly recommend!

Such a great weekend getaway!

My sister and I took our mom on a little birthday getaway weekend and what a great spot! So close to walk to everything downtown and quick drive to lovely hiking. The house was beautiful and comfortable! The kitchen had everything we needed- except a tea pot or kettle which would have been great, we drink lots of tea! We will definitely be back!

Great Location

Everything you need to enjoy a few days in the mountains. Black Mountain is a great area to shop till you drop while enjoying the relaxed atmosphere of the mountains. All shops a just feet away. Easy to come back when tired, hungry, drop off purchases, or bathroom breaks.

This stay exceeded our expectations

The loft was well stocked , the beds were comfortable and the unit felt cozy. The hosts were extremely responsive to our numerous questions as first renters through VRBO. The location was superb. We were within two blocks of restaurants and shops as well as the delicious food right next door at Open Oven. Hiking trails and Asheville area attractions were in close vicinity. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
