This lovely family home boasts river views and all the comforts of your own home. Favorite highlights include the open concept, well-equipped kitchen, dining area, and living room, as well as the many comfortable seating areas in separate rooms to choose from. The three-season sunroom framed with windows offers yet another quiet and separate seating area to enjoy. The convenient layout makes both gathering together and having more private time an effortless process. With a Queen bed in the primary and second bedroom and a twin plus trundle bed in the third bedroom, there is plenty of room for the whole family. There is even a large bonus room on the third floor to continue that favorite movie night tradition while you're on vacation. Removed from the main roads, yet close and convenient to town and the mountain, River Road has all the best of Stowe in one package!

All pets must be pre-approved during the booking process. An additional pet fee and addendum is required.

Great for a quick getaway or longer stay

Great location for a quick 4 day getaway. Close to restaurants and shops. Quiet and felt like we were in our own country home. Plenty of room and comfortable. We got some great tips from the fly rod shop and fished everyday, one location was just down the road. Convenient to hiking and biking. Would love to come back a stay again.

Great family vacation!

We had a great time staying here with our three teen children. House was in great location to Stowe Mountain, and restaurants. House is a little dated but we were all comfortable and happy! Would definitely recommend.

Great Winter Stay at Stowe

The house is a great location with near access to the town and mountain. The sectional is great for a large group is spend time. Big rooms on both stories!

Nice house nice location.

Not far from downtown Stowe and in close proximity to a lot of the major sights. Nice size house for a family of 4 and dogs. Lots of room. Felt private and alone.

River Road in Stowe

This was a good house to stay in when visiting Stowe. Plenty of room, good location. Older home with manual screens and window air conditioners. We would stay again but would avoid here in very hot weather.

Loved the property and location. The home is spacious, comfortable and clean. The kitchen is well equipped. We had two beautiful weather days and spent time sitting outdoors in a private country setting. Will rent again with no hesitation. Thank you for a great rental property!

Great Stay

Overall the house was a great fit for our group. 6 adults who skied at Stowe for 4 days. This was our first visit to Stowe and we were worried about the location but this house was a great compromise. Not too far from Mountain resort and very close to the town of Stowe. House was as advertised and worked out great. No problem renting again.

Perfect for our family!

The location was perfect. The house layout was perfect! Traveling with four teens is challenging but everyone had their own space. We brought the dogs too! Two GSDs. There was plenty of space and the house was well stocked. Loved it! Would stay here again!

Uniquely designed home

Two couples traveling through New England. This property, although situated on River Road is not on the River. It is a large, airy home and nicely equipped. There is one full bath on the second floor and a commode/sink/shower stall in the first floor laundry room. There is a lovely screened in porch on the back of the house. Lots of trees, birds, and a tiny stream on the property.

We loved it!

Great location! Loved being so close to all of the best things- the bike path, great restaurants, and excellent hiking. We enjoyed the house- nice dishes and pans in the kitchen, comfy couch- and we loved sitting in the “Florida room.” We sat in there most of the time! Would definitely return.

Downstairs bath had a trickle of water, no aircon or windows that open downstairs- needs a paint job abd proper cleaning inside- counter tops had large round spots everywhere. Not my cup of tea.

Spring skiing

Great location house spotless and lots of room. Lots of blankets and towels. Very comfy. Super cute town walking distance. Ski mountain 10 minute drive.

Hiking/biking vacation

My wife and I, both in our 60's, were joined by our daughter, son-in-law and their toddler daughter. Biking and hiking were on the agenda. The location of this home couldn't have been more suited to us - country location with a large yard yet easy access to Stowe. The house sits on a gravel road with a creek on the other side of the road...very peaceful. The layout of the bedrooms and bathrooms worked well for us. Mom, Dad and kiddo took the two south bedrooms and upstairs bathroom while Grandma and Grandpa used the north bedroom and downstairs bathroom. The whole place was very clean and quite spacious for this family of five! The bonus of a fairly new propane grill was much appreciated and utilized! Complaints are few and minor. The downstairs bathroom sink's water supply ran painfully slowly. There are window air conditioning units in each of the three bedrooms as well as the third floor room and they were fairly loud (but effective). Outdoor furniture would have been a nice addition to enable taking more advantage of the great yard. While the kitchen had PLENTY pots, pans, flatware, glasses, et cetera, there was no plastic wrap, foil, herbs or spices. I believe this is a fairly new listing so some of those items may appear as more people rent it our; we left olive oil and aluminum foil behind. All in all this home suited us perfectly. We would not hesitate to use it again and would also consider other properties managed by Stowe Country Homes.
