Perfect for family reunions or large groups, Evergreen Lodge is a genuine hand hewn log cabin retreat with 6 bedrooms and 4 baths in 3304 square feet for a genuine Black Hills experience. Nestled in tall, stately pines, the interior features a completely stocked kitchen with a gas stove, dishwasher, drip and Keurig coffee pots, three lounging areas, 2 large Smart TVs, free wifi, indoor dining for 14, and rocking chairs overlooking a quiet meadow. Moving outdoors there is a furnished deck with landscape views, outdoor dining for 12 protected from wind, gas firepit with adirondack chairs, all in a peaceful setting you won't want to leave. But if you do want adventure or sightseeing, the lodge is centrally located to Sylvan Lake, Crazy Horse Memorial, Custer State Park, Needles Highway and only 21 miles from Mount Rushmore National Memorial. Just two miles away you can connect with the Custer State Park spur of the Mickelson Trail. The best of both worlds!

Ten family members spent 4 days at the Evergreen Lodge while attending wedding festivities at Sylvan Lake. The Lodge was beautifully appointed and very comfortable. It is conveniently located for visiting numerous tourist sites, including Custer State Park, Mount Rushmore, Wind Cave to name a few. We would definitely stay there again.

Came for the Sturgis Rally 2026 and could not have been more impressed with this house. Owner communicated well, house was GORGEOUS and super clean and all of us felt grateful to enjoy the Black Hills from this property. Lots of wildlife around and even ran into the neighbors behind the house who were super nice! Thinking about coming back in 2028 and depending on how many of us go we would definitely consider this again. The pictures don’t do it justice! Thank you!

TheEvergreen Lodge was our home for a week. It was clean, inviting and very welcoming. We had 12 people, 3 generations. The kids had plenty of room to play outside and the adults had plenty of room for conversation. We even saw 6 bucks in the field across the street. The location was perfect for us. Our activities included the 1880 train, Mt. Rushmore, Deadwood and of course Custer State Park. Everyone in our group commented about what a beautiful place it was. You can’t go wrong with the Evergreen Lodge.

We had an amazing time! The cabin and property is beautiful! We had everything we needed and there was more than enough room. There were 7 adults and 5 kids (ages 1-7), and I'm not sure who had a better time. The kids loved all the toys and the huge yard was big enough for a fun game of whiffle ball. The firepit was an added bonus for the adults! The property felt secluded and peaceful, yet close enough to town and many tourist attractions. Highly recommend! May have been the best family vacation yet!

Lovely house in a very convenient location. Close to Custer National Park and the Wildlife Loop. Great restaurants in town. Would definitely recommend this home.

Paradise in the Black Hills

The property was perfect for our stay. We had 9 people for an UTV riding trip. Location to attractions was perfect. Cabin was clean and well stocked everything worked.

Fantastic Spot

Loved our stay at the Evergreen Lodge! The location made for a perfect week and the cabin was nice and roomy. We enjoyed the wildlife around;every morning we saw deer right in front. Communication with the host was excellent & her recommendations of places to visit did not disappoint. Great vacation spot!

Wonderful cabin in Custer!

My husband and I stayed at the cabin with our daughter, son-in-law, and three young grandchildren. The accommodations were great, the beds were comfortable, and the location was great to easily access many outdoor activities. The host was welcoming and responsive. We’d definitely stay there again!

Great Place & Location

Loved the location and the meadow in front of the house. Nice that town of Custer was only minutes away. Great central location for visiting different places in the area. We hiked Badlands, Cathedral Spires/Harney Peak Fire Lookout, Devils Tower and Sunday Gulch ... all spectacular.

Evergreen Lodge was everything as advertised. We loved the huge, open living area. The front deck was everyone’s favorite locale; late afternoon, evening shade with breezes and ready access to the house. The younger of us liked the play area on the ground floor. My grandson had his dream time with all the kids’ trucks in residence. We used the especially nice grill for several dinners. All 9 of easily fit around the dining table. Diane was super responsive to our 1 minor problem - it was fixed in great time. A super host!Any renters with toddlers will really love the 3 pack & plays and the 2 high chairs. Custer State Park is a couple miles away; Rushmore, Wind Cave & Jewell Cave are all within 30 minutes. One of great family weeks together.

Family reunion

Our family got together in the Black Hills and found this property to be well situated to the many activities and sites we wanted to see. It had the rooms and amenities we needed to facilitate our stay. The owner was also very responsive to any requests we had during our stay.

Great house for large groups

We all loved this house. The layout made it easy for our large group to sprawl when needed. The location was perfect for all of the things we wanted to see. I would highly recommend it.

Custer Cottage

This is a great property. We have used twice and will again. Plenty of trailer room if going riding. Had 3 36 footers there and still room. Lots of room on the multiple decks. Handy location .
