Wow, I did apologize for the toilet seat and spoke to the housekeeper about it. Offered to send in a new housekeeper and you said it wasn’t necessary. The recliner has a 8-9” tear in the leather, right in the center of the seat back that you sit against. That was not like that prior. It is torn, presumably from a dogs nail. I sent you a photo. As far as food items. We cleaned out all spices, and replenished last year. I cannot begin to understand how there was something from 1997, unless someone brought a refillable container with them and neglected to take it when they left. I assure you we toss old items but leave canned/dry goods as a nicety to people who arrive late and are hungry or to simply use instead of throwing away, as well as condiments in the frig to be helpful to have on hand. This is listed as a home away from home and others have appreciated the amenities, which is evident in other peoples reviews, including “Complete with so many amenities” and “Had everything you think you may need to enjoy your stay.” And another “thank you for sharing your home with us” As listed, this is our home and not an investment property so the personal items are left to remind people of this. There is nothing irreplaceable and nothing on “all the furniture” except some decorative items. Owners are entitled to a locked closet, the second bedroom has a double closet so plenty of space for people to hang their clothing. I hope you find a more suitable location for your next trip.
