Newly renovated comfort in a rustic mountain farmhouse on the Tour du Mont Blanc

Trient is located in the heart of the Mont Blanc region at 1,300 meters, set in a valley nestled below the Trient Glacier. Easy to access but delightfully peaceful, The Trient House is a haven for nature lovers and outdoor sports enthusiasts - the Tour du Mont Blanc trail runs through the garden! This newly renovated two-bedroom apartment accommodates five people and is perfect for families seeking the tranquility of a self-service mountain holiday. As part of a farmhouse built in 1900, the apartment combines modern comfort and rustic authenticity.

Upon arrival, you'll enjoy convenient free outdoor parking and the flexibility of self-check-in (via a combination security key box). The apartment has a fully equipped kitchen including a dish washer and washing machine and a spacious combined dining and living room area with a cozy electric fireplace. For those planning to enjoy a traditional raclette or fondue meal, you will find a raclette machine and fondue set in the kitchen. There is free wifi and both international and USB outlets. There are two bedrooms, one room with a double bed and balcony, and the other room with one single bed and one double bed. Bed linens, bathroom towels and kitchen towels are provided. Storage space is available for skis, bikes and other sports equipment.

• Hiking: With the Tour du Mont Blanc passing right through the garden, you have the convenience of many beautiful hikes starting right at your front door. Nearby, walk along the Bisse du Trient, search for the glass nymph in the Gorges Mystérieuses (2.5km) or ride the VerticAlp to the Emosson reservoir (15km).
• Cycling: For cyclists, secure indoor bike storage is available on the ground floor.
• Snow sports: This is the perfect place to stay away from the crowds but with easy access by car to skiing: 8 km to Vallorcine, 9km to Le Buet and 24km to Chamonix. Trient has a free téléski for children and a shuttle to a 2km groomed sledge run that is just a five-minute walk from the house. There is a 2.6km groomed trail for cross-country skiing around the village and designated snowshoe paths through the forest.
• Food/Groceries: There is no grocery store in Trient, but we recommend a visit to the local self-service farm shop (1 km) which offers meat, cheese and other local seasonal products (payment with cash or Twint). Also in Trient, the Yourte des Amis is our favorite place to enjoy a meal or a drink (reservations recommended due to seasonal availability). There is a small grocery shop located in the village of Finhaut (8 km), or many shopping options in Martigny (23 km).
• Trient is accessible by public transportation (Bus 213 from Martingy).

What a wonderful apartment! We very much enjoyed our stay. The apartment is spacious, very clean, and has everything you need. And the host was very kind and made sure we were comfortable and felt welcome. We especially enjoyed the nice balcony off the kitchen, a perfect place to relax after hiking. the location is excellent, right across from the pretty pink church in Trient with many excellent hiking opportunities nearby.

Beautiful cosy place in the mountains

Nice, warm and comfy place perfect for a rest day on the tour du Mont Blanc or for day hikes on the trails in the area. Tim was also friendly and communicative and made our stay wonderful.

The perfect Swiss town apartment

This was our second time staying at Tim's apartment in Trient and it did not disappoint! In fact, it was upgraded with a new balcony and patio where we sipped some wine and relaxed after a long day of hiking. Highly recommend to other hikers passing by!

Great house along the TMB

Tim's place was perfect for a night or two in Trient. The house was cozy and welcoming. The kitchen was well equipped and the beds were all so comfortable. It was a great choice

Respite on the TMB

The home was beautiful, comfortable, and had all the extra touches to make it an incredible stop on our trek around the TMB. Tim was a thoughtful host who gave us a great tip on where to have dinner and helped with our baggage delivery and pick up. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Lovely apartment in quiet village

Really happy we chose to stay here. Would stay again. Great place to look forward to returning to at the end of our day hikes. Slept great. Nice village and views. Bedside table lamps with USB ports was a nice touch and freed up my plug adapters for other things. Space is well thought out. Host was super helpful and responded promptly to any questions. Thanks for a great stay.

An awesome way to celbrate the new Year

We had barely arrived that Meghan was already there to welcome us. The apartment was speckless, warm, cosy, quiet and very comfy. Beds are really fine for each member of the family. All the white goods work very well and we particularly liked the Xmas tree all ready for us! We had dry weather throughout our stay so we could go for nice walks around glaciers and even go sledging as Tim lent us 2 sleds. The different supermarkets (Swiss or French) are at a 20/25 minutes drive from there which wasn't a problem at all for us. The only thing that you must note is that if you come in December as we did, you have to wake up earlier than us so as to be out before 11am because otherwise all the trails are not under the sun anymore. Perhaps some additional comfort could be brought with some shelves or hangers in the rooms. Otherwise, it was absolutely perfect . Thank you Tim and Meghan for letting us enjoy the Swiss Alps !

Vakantie in Trient

Vorige week verbleven we 10 dagen in Trient voor een vakantie met onze 2 volwassen zoons. We hebben erg genoten van de omgeving. Vanuit het huis zijn diverse wandeltochten mogelijk (de Col de Balme is een aanrader). Het appartement is nieuw en mooi. Tim, de eigenaar, is een symphatieke gastheer.

Einer der schönsten Urlaube, die wir gemacht haben!

Apartment: Das Apartment befindet sich in einem historischem Haus von 1900. Sehr schön, sehr neu und chic eingerichtet. Die neuen Fenster sind extrem schallisolierend. Durch die dicken, massiven Mauern war es selbst bei höheren Temperaturen immer angenehm kühl im Apartment. Wir hatten in einer Ferienwohnung noch nie so eine große Küche, die zudem auch noch so großzügig ausgestattet war. Einfach klasse! Es fehlt nichts. Die Betten mit den neuen Matratzen sind sehr bequem und erschweren das Aufstehen erheblich. Man schläft einfach prima. Das Bad kann man schon fast stylisch bezeichnen. Große Dusche mit Regenbrause und ein elektrisch betriebener Handtuchtrockner. Viel Ablagefläche. Das gesamte Apartment ist sehr sauber! Lage: Trient liegt auf ca 1300 Meter und ist ein kleiner Ort mit ein paar Hotels und Herbergen. Es gibt keine Einkaufsmöglichkeit, keinen Bäcker,kein Restaurant und keinen Metzger. Dafür gibt es wundebare Wander- und Spazierwege direkt ab der Wohnung. Lac d'Emosson, Chamonix und Mont Blanc sind mit dem Auto schnell erreicht, die französische Grenze ist gerade mal 18 km entfernt. Besonders erwähnenswert ist das Vermieterpaar, die im Haus eine Wohnung haben. Absolut nett, sehr sympathisch und sehr entgegenkommend und unkompliziert. Allein wegen den beiden würden wir noch einmal Urlaub in diesem Apartment machen. Sie lieben dieses Haus und haben schon sehr viel Herzblut hineingesteckt und führen ständig weitere Verbesserungen durch. Fazit: Jederzeit wieder!

PARFAIT !

Tout est parfait, le logement est propre, neuf, bien équipé. Le lieu est un petit village de montagne très calme et reposant avec la rivière a deux minutes. Le propriétaire Tim est vraiment très gentil et communique sur WhatsApp. Si je pouvais revenir je fonce sans hésiter. Merci Tim

Beautiful apartment with a perfect location for TMB hikers

We sought a comfortable place to stay while hiking the TMB and this space did not disappoint! There was a lot of love and care put into the recently renovated apartment, directly located on the TMB trail. Tim was such a gracious and responsive host. He was able to offer recommendations and answer questions quickly. Plus the washing machine was much appreciated. We only wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you for a lovely experience!

Wonderful apartment in Trient!

My husband and I stayed at this apartment for one night during our hike of the Tour du Mont Blanc. Tim was very helpful and communicative, he even booked us a reservation for dinner and a packed lunch at Refuge le Peuty which is a 10-15 minute walk down the road. The apartment is newly renovated with everything you need. The shower was lovely, the bed was comfortable, and it is right in the center of the small town. I would highly recommend to other hikers looking for a special treat and some privacy! Thank you Tim!

Un magnifique appartment

J'ai été très agréablement surprise par l'appartement de Tim qui est à la fois spacieux et qui offre tout le confort nécessaire. Tim est une personne adorable, disponible et aussi discret. Nous ne sommes restés que deux nuits car il s'agissait pour nous d'un séjour un peu spécial (réunion de famille) et donc pas un séjour de découverte de la région. Mais je recommande vivement l'appartement de Tim pour ceux ou celles qui aimerait un logement au calme, décoré et rénové avec goût.

Tim and his family are originally from the US (Seattle) and after working in Hungary for two years, they moved to Switzerland in 2014. The Trient House is a multi-year project of renovation, restoration and conservation as they combine their passion for DIY, their love for the mountains and their respect for the history of this wonderful house and lovely little village.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

We bought this beautiful old house in 2018 from the grandchildren of the original owners, who built it in 1900. The owners raised eleven children here and many cousins, neighbours and friends grew up visiting this house and filling it with happy memories. Over the years, the family raised cows, smoked sausage and made cheese in the cellar and handcrafted wooden skis in the attic workshop. You’ll find these memories preserved in the construction and décor during your stay, including restored barn wood features and vintage skis.

Now that this house belongs to our family, we are renovating it ourselves with great care so that its history can be preserved and it can be filled again with families and friends. As our dreams are still in progress, you’ll find the exterior of the house and entrance to be rustic, but you’ll enjoy the modern comfort of the newly renovated apartment.
