We loved the location of the house and our stay! So much to do without even leaving the house. My kids loved fishing in the canal and swimming on the beach which were just steps away. What a great location, we would come back!

Great family vacation!

This is our second time staying here and won’t be our last. Great house right on the beach. The front of the house is a private beach with a fire pit. The back of the house is on a canal that is used as a lazy River. We have so much fun staying here. Perfect for a family vacation.

July 4th Getaway

Hidden gem of a location along coast of CT, even family that lives close by had no idea. The mix of the beach in front of house and river in the back really made it feel like a destination getaway. Having dinner on the back patio along the river after kids went to bed was a nice treat each night and during day kids spent hours floating around in the ocean. House felt spacious and we were able to spread out across the 4 bedrooms.

Dream getaway in a perfect location

Our family of six had the most amazing time at this property. The location is unbelievable - a lazy creek/river right behind the house with its own private dock, and the Atlantic Ocean right in front of the house with an unobstructed view. The owner of this home is the nicest, most responsive, most communicative host and made our trip entirely stress-free and so relaxing and enjoyable. We are absolutely delighted and so immensely grateful we stumbled upon this gem of a place. We loved the private beach by the house, as well as the public beach right down the street, and we also went to nearby Lake Mohegan - the kids and adults all enjoyed it all. The cute downtown area has a wide array of delicious cuisines and sweet shops, and everyone is just so unbelievably nice. We cannot wait to be back. A million thanks to the gracious host for lovely memories we will all treasure.

A little rough around the edges

We had a great stay due to the home’s perfect location - quiet, beachfront, with easy access to area hot spots - and so many visible fireworks displays across the water, we lost track. The patio is perfect for enjoying meals outside and a few steps stroll across the street you’re on the beach making s’mores for dessert. The house could be amazing with more TLC. We weren’t surprised by this as it is what the pictures show. However the unexpected for me, was what I’ll call the one dimensional hospitality. What you see in pictures is your experience. As you read reviews for other properties you see throughout reference to “the little things” that really set a rental apart. There is none of that here. What you see in the picture is literally what you get. For instance, upon arriving we had to search the home to find towels. There were none in the bathrooms. Also, there is only one beach towel so it’s apparently BYO when it comes to beach towels. This isn’t mentioned in the listing so we were unprepared. Did towels ruin our vacation? Of course not. But if you’re looking for “the little things” - you won’t find that here but you can still create an idyllic 4th of July weekend.

Perfect Family Stay

Stayed with 6 adults and two infants. Perfect location for everyone to enjoy. Private beach right in front of the house is very convenient. House was clean inside and had all necessary accommodations. Jeff was an awesome host. Easy and quick communication. He was helpful and knowledgeable with restaurants in the area. Great location! Definitely would book again soon!
