The vast wrap around deck is nestled amongst towering pines in a private wooded setting and allows for great entertaining opportunities. Relax in the park like setting with fenced in yard. Towering ceilings, walls of windows and 2 fireplaces. Amazing game room with a brand new full sized Brunnswick billiards table, ping pong table & darts. Easy access to Highway 9.

This listing is the ENTIRE HOUSE, including the 3 Bedroom 2 Bathroom "Main" unit, plus a bonus full studio apartment with separate entrances on the ground floor, plus the detached garage. Reserving the house here combines both of these listings:

A warm, cozy, lovely cabin with lots of amenities! We really enjoyed our stay here for Thanksgiving. The game room was the biggest hit for both children and adults!

Hans was very prompt to reply to questions. Our family had a great time! It was a great set up and we had everything that we needed. We would definitely suggest staying there!

What a wonderful trip! Beautiful cabin , perfect weather and scenery. It was relaxing but filled with fun activities.

Fun family getaway

This property was great for the family and our 3 dogs. The home could use some updating but overall it was a great stay for the price! The property manager was super responsive and friendly. The only issues we really had was previous renter's trash wasn't taken out before we got there and with the heat the smell was pretty bad, but because of the wildlife we couldn't put it outside of the home. The beds were hard too, but again it was a nice place to stay and everyone had a great time!

Nice location, easy to get to and yet felt secluded.

Worked out very well for our group and having access to the studio and therefore another refrigerator was very handy. We had enough mothers in the group that we had much more food than was needed for a weekend. We were almost hoping to be snowed in just to lengthen our stay. Ha Ha

Tucked house in the mountains

There was enough room to accommodate our family. The house could use to be updated, touched up on paint and overall maintenance could make this Mountain home attractive. It had a lot of family activities for all ages. It was a bit different then all the other houses we stayed in throughout our trip and past trips. Make sure if you have never vacationed in high elevations to get some oxygen tanks as a couple of our family members struggled which almost made us leave early. Communication with the property owner was good as he was responsive to my concerns and questions.

We had a great stay 4th of July weekend. Our family party was originally a group of 11 plus 2 dogs. Only 8 of us actually made it with 1 dog. The space worked perfectly for the 8 of us to be comfortable and have privacy. The yard felt very secure for our high energy dog.Cons: There were things that could have been maintained before our arrival better, such as outlets that didn’t work (the microwave had to be moved from its island nook to be plugged in), empty soap bottles, broken shower head, no drain plug for the beautiful clawfoot bathtub and there was dirty sheets stuffed in the closet. The basement has an odor that you have to get used to. We didn’t get access to the hot tub until our second day because the host didn’t respond with the code. If the space had more written directions in the cabin things would have been easier. Such as how to work the fireplace in the studio and access to hot tub. Renovations are needed here but the potential is enormous. Pros:Lots of space and accommodating items for cooking. There was plenty to do just at the cabin for the weekend. Grilling, playing in the yard, exploring, hot tub and game room were great for a family to bond over. Very spacious. Beautiful upstairs master bed.It was nice being able to bring our dog who had fun too! We loved the immersion in nature and away from busy roads and neighborhoods. The cabin had pretty flowers growing around it. Overall it was comfortable and suited our needs for a much needed getaway.

Don't Stay here. Nasty and Host is not helpful.

This house is filthy. Host only uses sarcasm to address issues at best. Mold in shower area on main level, trash and cobwebs all over house. Hosted a women's retreat here. Non-working fireplace (only form of heat in large game room) this was a 3 hour ordeal, which resulted in sending the cleaning lady to fix it at 8pm. She ducked taped thermostat to wall. Worked for 5 minutes, had to beg for space heaters. Bloody band aids in hot tub, which resulted in him sending someone unannounced to empty and refill the hot tub in the middle of our stay. So, using that was not an option but only one day. At one point we are on deck and see a man coming out of bottom level of house (again group of women), it is snowing, and we think now he was removing a trash can? Unannounced, no warning. Simple communication is not possible with Hans. He is sarcastic and won't address your concerns with any sort of professionalism. House is old, dog hair covering every piece of furniture, your socks will be black by end of day from filthy floors. Dishes all are all sticky and have old food on them. Not one shovel to be found to clear any snow or steps. This was mentioned and never rectified. I rent many homes for women's retreats, and they are not cheap due to being charged per person, and this one is the worst I have ever rented with the worst host. VRBO did offer to move us to a hotel, but with the way our event is, that would not have worked for us. Save your money, you will be several disappointed.

Weekend getaway

Was a nice place to stay but could use some things. Cabin was not very clean could use a deep clean. Said no fires and pick up after pet which there was a bunch of half burnt wood and a mess by the fire pit and dog poop all by the tree. Made owner aware and no response. Pretty lengthy check out instructions for not being in perfect condition and cleaning fee and price in general. Overall I'd give 7/10

Wonderful family stay at Christmas

Our family of 9 adults and two dogs had a wonderful 4 day stay at Hans’s rental. There was plenty of room to spread out when needed. Lots of fun things to do as a family right at the rental (ping pong, pool table, darts , great places to do puzzles , hike on trails right down the road.) New to the property is a brand new hot tub that we really didn’t utilize. There is a GREAT large fenced in area for the dogs. Don’t worry about being cold at this rental - the heat worked great. Hans had it decorated festively for Christmas that made it more magical. Great location to Breckenridge (some spent a day skiing) and it was nice to be so close to groceries right in Fairplay. We would definitely rent this plane again if we are back in this area ( we are from MI) . Communication with Hans was great from the time we rented til the day we left
