Beautiful, spacious apartment & central location - no car needed

The space
Beautiful and romantic 130 sq. meters three bedroom luxury apartment, one room with king size bed, one with king size that can be changed to two single and in addition there is one single bed, the third bedroom has a queen size bed with single bed above (bunk). The apartment has a large bathroom, both shower and bathtub and a walk in laundry room that has both washing machine and a dryer, ironing board and a steam iron.
The apartment is located directly at the corner of the Town hall square and the main walking(shopping) street of Akureyri. From the third floor apartment you have a nice Panorama view over the city centre. Whale watching is 150 meters away, swimming pool 5 minutes walk and all the best restaurants, bars and café's are at the doorstep. Parking is very convenient. Free parking is just 200 meters away. Everything is within walking distance from the apartment. Visit the bakery around the corner or the book store across the street or any of the nice cafe's or restaurants within 200 meters of the apartment. Akureyri's Cultural house, music hall and the nice swimming pool is just few minutes away by foot. The main taxi station and bus transfers are in 200 meters distance. Great nature attractions are in short driving distance, like lake Myvatn, Dynjandi and Godafoss waterfall are roughly one hour drive from apartment. This is a unique apartment concerning style, comfort and last but not least location which enables you to explore Akureyri by foot.
Enjoy watching the cultural life of Akureyri and the beautiful town centre just out side your window from the third floor location.
Please be aware that there is no elevator, but the third floor location compensates with a panoramic view of the downtown life right from your living room and kitchen windows.
The apartment has been fully refurbished in beginning of 2013 in an comfortable antique style but with all the latest comfort. New 70" flat screen, Apple TV(Netflix), high end Hi-Fi system and high speed internet access included. We also have cable TV with all the international and local stations, including the English Premier League.

We welcome you to our lovely holiday home and wish you a pleasant luxury stay in the heart of Akureyri.

Great Apartment and Location

Wonderful place

Great communication from host, excellent location, and apartment was stunning. Easy walk to many restaurants, bars and other attractions. Will definitely be back.

This is a third floor walk up apartment on the main plaza in City Center. Apartment is beautiful and lovely details. It’s great to walk to everything or catch bus which is the plus. Good people watching too. The downside is it can have noise from events in the city so you have to be ok with that. We loved it.

Great spot!

Had a really good stay here. The location was perfect as it was close to parking and we could walk anywhere in town. We did have a slight issue when we arrived, it wasn’t cleaned from the stay before us. But they got that resolved really quickly for us. We would stay here again.

Home away from home

My family of 4 truly enjoyed staying in the wonderful apartment. It's one of those rare properties that advertises that 8 people can sleep there and has 8 chairs at the dining table, over 8 sets of plates, glasses and flatware. They even had enough towels. Seems like a small issue but we like to eat breakfast and sometimes lunch at our rental and this allowed us to do so easily. Also, the bathroom is larger than most European bathrooms, enough for 2 people to brush their teeth at the same time, crazy! The location was great for wandering around town, getting to the pool, restaurants and excursions, etc. Finally, the host was very accommodating when I was screwing up reservation initially and communicated quickly throughout our stay. It is on the central square of the city, as he notes in the description, there can be some crowd noise at night, part of the charm. I would highly recommend this flat for 4-8 people.

Great place for family of 4

The property was super clean, spacious and in a great location. It was so refreshing to have a larger space for a few days after staying in family hotel rooms for 10 days while traveling the Ring Road. We were also able to walk to great restaurants and around City without needing to get in the car. Highly recommend! Cool city too!

Perfect place for enjoying the city.

The apartment has amazing views of the town center, access to many restaurants right down stairs, and everything you need to cook family meals. My kids loved being able to go down stairs to the bakery or for ice cream on their own because everything was so close. We loved the large dining table with the lazy Susan for passing and sharing dishes. The enormous tv was a pleasure for relaxing movie nights after a long day of exploring. You can hear some street noise as one commenter said but it wasn’t a problem for us and I didn’t notice it from the bedrooms. I would definitely stay here again.

Best location and experience ever!!!

This was our first time in Akureyri and we hit the jackpot with this location! We were within walking distance of everything we wanted to do and see plus more. The host David was super helpful answering our questions and assured us he was available if we needed anything. The house was clean and more than equipped for our size group. If we ever come back with a group again, we will certainly book this location. Prime location, highly recommend!!!!

Super Appartement im Herzen von Akureyri :-)

Das Appartement liegt phantastisch. Zu Silvester hatten wir quasi einen Platz in der ersten Reihe beim Feuerwerk! Unsere kleine Gruppe hat diese Ferienwohnung mit der sehr guten Ausstattung und ihrer besonderen Lage sehr, sehr genossen. Auch die Buchung und Absprachen mit unserem Vermieter haben hervorragend funktioniert. Wir kommen gerne wieder :-)
