This was an incredible property. The host was very accomodating. Prompt and easy to communicate with. The place was ultra clean and had every amenity needed to feel "at home" in. Beds and pillows VERY comfortable and cozy. The location is quiet and secluded but in a community with other homes so didn't feel isolated. View is breath taking out back windows overlooking the snowy landscape and lake. Easy access to snowmobile trail #4. We absolutely loved it.

This home on Pencil Lake is stunning inside and out! Plenty of space for our extended family of 8. Communication with Todd was helpful and made the check in and check out process a breeze! Large kitchen stocked with many essentials! The "Secret Room" was so much fun for my grandkids. Kayak on the peaceful lake and enjoy nature at its best with loons, eagles , fish and turtles basking on the logs.Enjoy the many variety of birds from the deck, firepit, dining room and living room. The humming birds entertained us during our meals in the dining room area. Great location for our side trips to Petoskey and Mackinac. I highly recommend this warm and welcoming vacation home!

We had a fabulous time at this beautiful log home. They have thought of everything. Beds were very comfortable. The home has lots of space. Kitchen is one of the best stocked that we have stayed at. Pencil Lake is a serene lake. We saw loons and 2 bald eagles. Loved having 3 kayaks. Fire pit was great with lots of seating. Todd was always available for any questions. The clubhouse is also a fun option with an indoor pool, water slide and small lazy river. Many wonderful family memories were made. We hope to return.

Easy check-in/check out process. Owner communicated often and made sure we had everything we need. The home was very clean and welcoming. We enjoyed the wildlife, kayaking, swimming, and fire pit. It was a lovely week wirh family and we would love to stay again.

Family Getaway

More than expected. House, location and amenities are incredible. Family included a 4 and 5 year old. They each caught a bass! Spent hours in and on the water. Great place for a family vacation and will definitely consider a return visit. Host was extremely responsive and had the house set up special for the boys. Everything we could have possibly wanted plus more. If you are thinking about staying here, do it!

A slice of Heaven!

The house was exactly as described in the listing. The house was very clean and had all of the amenities that we needed for cooking, relaxing and enjoying the lake. The rooms were all large and the beds were great. The grandkids absolutely loved the 'secret' bedroom (seemed like the listing didn't mention the twin bunks and single twin bed). We did not take advantage of the clubhouse since the weather / lake were perfect for us (lake is super clean/clear). Nice path from house down to lake and there is a path that goes all the way around the lake for hiking. Very peaceful and quiet (it was fun watching the hummingbird come to window multiple times a day). I would highly recommend this place and would definitely stay here again! Met Todd and we had a great conversation about the house and area! Thanks for sharing your house!

Peaceful cabin on lake

Exquisitely designed cabin. Great view of lake in natural setting. Everything was better than shown and described. Kayaks and swim pad Bring your own bicycle if you want to do that Canoes, row boats, and stand up paddle boatds available for tent across the lake

Great getaway

The house was amazing, very roomy and clean. My sister-in-law from Texas was impressed with the whole area and she took so many pictures so show family in Texas. My grandchildren got a good lesson on what to do when you do not have cable tv or internet...that was worth the trip by itself !!! we all had a wonderful time and would highly recomend this for family get aways.

A beautiful home in a beautiful setting

The house was beautifully decorated and so clean. The owners were good about communicating with me. We had four couples staying and we were all very comfortable. There is a nice big kitchen island we were able to gather around. The property is wooded and there was a bird feeder flush with chickadees, also a hummingbird feeder that was pretty to see. Because of the rainy weather we were not able to access the property features we were looking forward to, walks around the lake, kayaking and swimming but all the equipment was available. I would definitely stay again.

Great cabin, very clean. Close to Gaylord. Plenty to do, or to just relax. Will definitely book here next year.

Conveniently located

We visited Traverse City and Petoskey. Had lunch in Gaylord. Wonderful food! The week was relaxing for us - which was our goal. We even made it to the pool one day!

Absolutely incredible!

My six siblings and I stayed in the cabin and had plenty of room to relax and play games. The lake view and location was perfect.

Cabin in the Woods

met with a group of friends to spend a week in northern Michigan. We found the best place here at this great cabin in the woods. Beautifully crafted, great kitchen, beds were unique bedframes and lots of room. The lake was very peaceful and the path to the lake was easy. one day we had wild turkeys down by the lake! Todd was an amazing host.

Beautiful Cabin on the Lake

The cabin was a dream! The photos do not do it justice at all. Beautiful views and plenty of space made a memorable weekend. The only issue we had was the lack of on property WiFi. 1/8 girls had service at the cabin making WiFi the only option to communicate with home during our 3 night stay. It was not a total problem due to one friend with service having a hot spot but it definitely threw a wrench in things for our friend who is a new mother trying to communicate with home causing some very unexpected stress. The club house, which is an 8 minute drive, wifi is provided at the cabin but that’s just not what was expected when WiFi was listed on the booking. It’s necessary to provide transparency about exactly what is and is not provided. We are resourceful and it was a wonderful trip. Highly recommend booking if you don’t have the connection need.

Beautiful home and property

As many of the reviews have stated, the pictures don't do this property justice. The home is absolutely beautiful, with plenty of room and extras like board games, fire wood, grill, etc. It was a little difficult physically getting down into the lake, but the walk around the greenbelt was nice and quiet (there are some steep parts). No cell phone service for those in our party that had Version, but AT&T and Sprint worked fine. The indoor pool at the clubhouse was a great bonus, and there was even a small playground. Overall, we had a nice relaxing stay, and would recommend this place.
