Perfect Stay

Rented the cabin for a bachelorette trip and It was perfect. The house was exactly as listed, honestly it was bigger than we thought, and VERY clean. Owner’s communication was fantastic. Would highly recommended to everyone. If I could give it 6 stars I would.

Fabulous family getaway!

We spent 4 nights here over Thanksgiving and had a wonderful stay. The home accommodated 11 people from our family, ranging in age from 2-79, very easily. The views are gorgeous, the house was stocked with all the essentials, and the communication with the homeowner John was excellent. We will definitely be returning!

Excellent property and owner. Place was immaculately clean and well prepared for our visit. Lacked nothing except better weather. Wildlife roamed the property and everything was tip top.

Beautiful Place

This place is absolutely beautiful. It was 4 of us plus child and we had an absolute blast staying there. The deck has beautiful views and everything in the house was superclean. The location was ideal, we were 15 mins from the downtown, beach, major wineries etc. Would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a quite stay with lots of things to do around.

Book Club getaway

Fantastic setting and home for our book club winter getaway. The view is just amazing and the house designed with so many windows that we were able to watch the deer and birds all weekend long. The house allowed ample space for us to lounge, play games, assemble puzzles, work on crafts, and even cook together. The hot tub was so nice and relaxing and deer didn’t seem to mind it either. We had the added bonus of being there during the Fire and Ice Festival so just a 5 minute drive to the quaint village of Canandaigua and we enjoyed seeing ice sculptures, a variety of animals, exploring the shops, and tastings at a couple breweries. Would definitely go back!

Beautiful relaxiny stay

This is a quiet peaceful place overlooking Canandaigua Lake. The deck was a perfect place to hang out and relax. The fire pit out back was just a nice. Plenty of room, wildlife and comfort. You dont need to bring anything but food and drinks. Highly recommended for a quiet relaxing getaway with 3 families.

Stunning Lake Views

The views from this property are stunning. Each morning, we'd sip our coffee on the large deck in the morning sun and started our day on the most peaceful note. The house is fully equipped with everything you need for a short getaway. The town is just a short, easy drive away. John thought of it all and even leave a binder filled with suggested places to eat, drink, and see before you go.

Early Thanksgiving

We rented this awesome house for an early family Thanksgiving. It gave us plenty of room to spread out and be comfortable. The house is in a beautiful location. Very peaceful to and quiet. We enjoyed sitting on the deck and watching the deer roam through the yard. John is very accommodating and quick to respond to all of our needs. Would definitely recommend this place. If I could give more than 5 stars I would.

Great house with awesome views and lots to do

Owners provided lots of great activities and the house worked super well with two families with young kids. Would definitely return. Only knock was some of the house was a bit run down/lived in. In fairness we were at the end of the season, it didn’t ultimately take much away. Beautiful sunrises!

We had a great stay with a group of 12 people. The property was clean and communications with the host were excellent. We could not get the arcade to work but this was a relatively minor point; everything else was as described.

Excellent Experience

This is a beautiful house with a stunning view of the lake. We rented for a bachelorette party and a great time was had by all. There was a brief local power outage and John responded to us immediately; we couldn't have asked for a better host. Definitely recommend!

Fantastic View with Relaxation

Our ladies group booked the lodge for a 3 night retreat and fell in love with the view of the Lake, and the deer who were in the yard every day. There was a hiccup with an amenity not working, but the owner was very responsive and promptly took care of the matter. The kitchen had all we needed to prepare and enjoy our meals, and the home was clean and comfortable with lots of room for all. We very much enjoyed the propane fire pit on the deck, and the throw blankets provided were a thoughtful perk. The two large leather sofas with pillows were very comfortable for our tv time. We truly enjoyed our stay.

Family time

What a fabulous place for a vacation. Our group ranged from 9 months to 70, with local relatives stopping by. Everyone had plenty of room to play, talk, and eat. House is designed well, furniture sturdy and comfortable, lots of functional appliances…and of course, the deck with its beautiful views and the lawn with room to run and play added to the whole wonderful experience. Can’t wait to come back!

Beautiful Weekend at the Lake!

Our family visited Canandaigua for an extended family event over the recent long weekend. John's house was perfect for our group of 8, and was just as pictured and described on VRBO. Very clean and I loved that there was absolutely no clutter! We've rented many houses over the years, and the beds in this house were the most comfortable of any house we've stayed at. We loved sitting on the deck and looking at the great view of the lake. Plenty of parking for multiple cars. Strong WiFi. We appreciated that there was ice in the freezer and some basic condiments in the fridge; all rentals should have that. Great water pressure in the showers. The teenagers played lots of foosball and ring toss in the basement. John was a great communicator throughout the process. Highly recommend the house.

Cozy lake getaway with a view!

The house was perfect for our family’s lake vacation! We all had plenty of room with comfy beds and seating options. The view from the master bedroom and living room is beautiful! Even better than the pictures suggest. The location is nice and quiet with many occasions to watch wildlife wandering around the property. The owner, John, was very responsive and easy to work with. He even installed a baby gate when we inquired about the opening at the top of the stairs. There were a few minor issues in the house ( loose or worn small fixtures) we let him know and he gladly took note in order to remedy them. I’m not sure that anyone stayed there this year before us, so these issues (loose toilet paper holder etc) were not surprising and did not impact our stay. The home has plenty of closet space to store belongings. And there is a fun game room on the first floor. We didn’t get a chance to use it with two very small children, but it looks very inviting! We did enjoy a nice night on the deck using the fire pit. Great way to end a long day of hiking. The sunrise and view of the lake from the deck in the Adirondack chairs is a great way to enjoy your morning coffee! John suggested other attractions in the area— if you have small children, we highly recommend the new playground area at Richard Outhouse park! The proximity to two beautiful parks and several relaxing hiking trails is very convenient! We would definitely stay here again if we visit Canandaigua lake :)
