Your own private getaway, Crystal Mountain Charm is just the place to get away from it all and indulge in some much-needed peace and quiet. The whole family can come along on this trip, as there is plenty of room to spread out and a fantastic yard for the pups to run around in (for a small nightly fee). Days can be spent skiing all day long or hiking along gorgeous trails, and evenings can be spent gathered around the firepit with loved ones. Inside, you will feel right at home with comfortable furnishings, free high-speed WiFi, and a spacious living area to cozy up in as the stars home out. Plus, you won't have to worry about heading out for meals every night because you can easily stock up the full kitchen and make your own favorite meals with ease!

Crystal Mountain Gem is close enough to the fun, but fair enough to enjoy the peace and quiet.

Perfect little get-away house

Stayed for a week in July 2024. Small, but perfectly appointed and super clean. Easy access to Arcadia, Frankfort, and Sleeping Bear National Park. No issues with access. Good yard for our big dog. Will stay again.

Lights in bedrooms and living room did not work and trash was not taken care of from previous stay. A lot of ants inside as well.

Lights didnt work in bedrooms or living room. Trash bin was not emptied and overflowing. After telling the person about the issue, no action was taken. Would not stay again.

We had several issues here. The electrical appliances hardly worked, the fridge did not get cold, the microwave would not heat, etc. The lights in the bedrooms didn’t work. The light in the bathroom would flicker and almost turn off any time I used the outlet. The power would not adequately power my hairdryer, and I thought it ruined my hairdryer. We contacted the property and they told us to try to let the fridge cool off for up to 24hours. It never got cold. Also, we paid for late checkout and were locked out before the time was up, with all of our stuff inside. The property was able to let us back in, and then told us we had 30 extra minutes but needed to check out then to avoid additional charges. This was a cute place and I hope they can fix the issues they have.

Don't bother

The property was clean, beyond that there's not much great to say. The garbage can outside was completely full when we arrived and had nowhere to put bags we filled. The air was either way too cold or had to be turned off. The wifi and cable barely worked. The washer and dryer didn't work at all. That would have been nice to know before clothes and detergent were placed in it. The firepit with low hanging branches directly above seemed like a horrible idea. With a ski mountain near by I'd imagine the property is targeted at people planning an outdoor vacation, this makes the stained carpet inside a ridiculous choice, maybe a floor that can be cleaned in a suitable fashion for the use of a cabin. I'd demand a partial refund if I thought I'd get anywhere with it.

Our home has a washer and dryer, but they are not hooked up due to missing connections. We haven't scheduled a plumber yet, so they are not listed in our listing or amenities. Also, this home is located in a secluded wooded area, and the satellite Wi-Fi may be unreliable. The fire pit is well-placed, but be cautious with large fires near the trees. The mini-split air conditioning unit is behind the couch and can be adjusted easily with its remote, as long as it's pointed directly at the unit. We appreciate your kind understanding, and we hope to have the opportunity to better impress you in the future!

This place was fine. Location was close to where we needed to be but everything else was subpar. Where the house was actually located was down a very creepy gravel road that you almost didn’t want to drive down at night. The screen to the door looks like it was recently fixed but they left all the extra hanging off. The lock to the door was broken. Had we not had our dog with us I probably would have made a big deal about it. The kitchen was fine. Carpets were stained as well as having dead bugs that could have easily been vacuumed up all over. Beds were uncomfortable and I had someone’s nail on the side table next to me. Bathroom was okay but the handle inside the shower kept falling off. Lastly some of the walls needed to be repaired. Would I stay again? Probably not unless changes have been made.

Cozy Home

Lovely updated with comfortable beds! Close to Crystal Mountain and the Iron Fish distillery. 8 miles to Benzonia and 15 to Frankfort. We road bikes and kayaked the upper platt. The house sleeps 4 but it would be best for a family with small children rather than 4 adults. Living room has a new couch (sleeper sofa) but seats 3 adults no chair. Good value. Would stay again. Remote, quiet large back yard with fire pit.

Cozy and comfortable

We LOVED staying here at the Crystal Mountain Charm. My husband and I were snowed in for the weekend and made the most of it!! Played board games, cuddled in and watched a movie, and drank hot chocolate. Highly recommend this home to anyone wanting the perfect little place while skiing!

The home was great for a 2 person golf weekend. Close to Crystal Mountain. Arcadia Bluffs and Manistee National. The house was very basic but the location was great. It was all that we needed. Well stocked and clean.

My husband, baby and I were in town for my friend’s wedding. She and her husband stayed with us, along with there 2 small dogs. Upon arrival, my friend was stung 3 times by wasps when trying to get into the house. The had welts all over her leg at her wedding and has to go to urgent care. There were several wasp nests in the grooves of the roof and it was clear the house had not been maintained. The house was much smaller than the photos made it seem and it was not appropriate for the size party we had. The internet was incredible slow, making it difficult to find other accommodations for the remainder of our trip. The front window has no curtains presenting a privacy and safety concern. Several cars that drove by slowed in front of the house and could see inside. We left after the first night and are requesting a refund. Do not stay here.

Ants arrived on our second morning!

It was nice at first, but when we woke up the second morning there were 100 Ants in the Kitchen and about a dozen in the bathroom. This led us to check out a day early. We called Vacasa (you must partner with them) and after 8 days and 5 calls and the run-around they said they would only refund us 1/2 a nights stay - not the full night! I lost a day of my vacation because of the Ants and I still have to pay for 1/2 a night I did not stay! UGH! I even sent videos multiple times to them showing the critters crawiling all over the floor - but it appears they think it is acceptable and I should have just stayed and lived with the Ants! Not happening! My husband even got out the vacuam twice and vacuamed them up - but new ones just came back. I feel that if there is a situation at a home that causes a guest to leave - and I believe over 100 ants crawling around is one - that the guest should not have to pay for the night they left because of the issue! Be careful who you choose to partner with.

Quaint and clean

This house was just what we needed for the long weekend. It was clean and well appointed. The WiFi is not the strongest, but we weren’t really there for that. It is a great location to Crystal Mountain. There were also sleds in the shed as a bonus!
