This place is a block from Main Street where are you can find the best Mitchell has to offer. Our personal favorite -- Koinania Kafé, The Corn Palace, and other restaurants are all within walking distance. Located conveniently, it still has the quiet neighborhood perfect to relax in. The house has a big backyard, a driveway to park in the front and also a driveway to park in the back. The house is in the last stages of remodel but very usable. You can sleep as many people as you like if you provide your own sleeping bags, ect.

Cobwebs on ceiling. Stair railing needs attention. Washer soap dispenser needs cleaning. Beds were very comfortable. Downstairs TV’s could be better located. Kitchen floor has a soft spot in the middle. Loved the Victorian style.

Myself and 6 others were riding our motorcycles across country from New England, and were making a stop in Mitchell to visit a few friends from the motorcycle industry. We had other arrangements planned, but they fell thru last second, and so we had to adjust and found this property. Not only was it beautiful, it was clean, wonderfully stocked with all sorts of snacks and drinks and cooking equipment, but the furniture was amazing, and the master bathroom was wildly understated in the ad. The jacuzzi tub, the rain shower, and massive vanity were incredible. There were numerous chaise lounges for couples to cozy up in, and the location was so close to all the fun spots in the downtown area that after 9 hours on a bike, the 3 block shuffle was not an issue. Miriam was extremely responsive, left us a cute welcome note and bottle of wine, and gave us a few recommendations. She's lovely. 7 out of 5 stars.

We stayed at this beautiful house this last weekend and what a wonderful place it is. Everything was clean and had everything we needed. My group loves staying in old houses and the updates have made this home beautiful. We will definitely go back.

We had 6 adults in my group. Very pleased with everything. House was very well stocked. Very clean. It worked well for us!

This is not intended as a complain but for your information. The rail going to the second floor is loose and should be addressed. The stairwell light was on and we were unable to find a way to turn it off. I was sitting on the couch in the living room. One of us was upstairs and probably flushed a toilet or used the shower. That was unremarkable except for a period afterward there was a dripping sound inside the wall— it indicated that there is probably a small leak inside the wall. Despite these comments the house was clean and served our needs very well. Thank you

Family Visit for High School Graduation

I am a resident of Mitchell and had no idea about this GEM of a VRBO!!! I found the property for my extended family who came to Mitchell for my son's high school graduation. We used the house for 8 adults and one 2-year-old, and it was PERFECT! The Master Suite was amazing, and my family raved about the rain shower and how nice it was to have 3 full bathrooms upstairs, and the small bathroom downstairs. The kitchen was fabulous and felt like something out of a magazine. The location is also ideal as you are in walking distance of many coffee shops and restaurants downtown and of course, the Corn Palace. I recommend this property to anyone looking to avoid hotel stays and have everyone in one location!!

Graduation Family gathering weekend!

Such a beautiful historic home! Locals from Mitchell stopped by our grad party and didn’t realize Mitchell had such a beautiful gem close to the Corn Palace. Everything was wonderful! The large kitchen was great for preparing food and plenty of seating for guests and sleeping space.

Family Christmas

We grew up in Mitchell and were looking for a place where we could come back and be together for Christmas again. Miriam’s house was the perfect solution! We were overwhelmed by how beautiful the house was and loved having the amazing kitchen to prepare our dinner. Thanks, Miriam!

Beautiful property

The house was beautiful and clean. The girls didn't want to leave because they thought the house was the fun vacation activity! Right down the street from all the things Mitchell had to offer.

Wonderful and wonderfully appointed

An outstanding property with a spacious and full functioning kitchen. Multiple sitting rooms. Three bedrooms each with their own bathroom. Very accommodating. Would absolutely stay their again.

Beautiful Home

This house was absolutely BEAUTIFUL! Perfect location if you want to visit the Corn Palace as well. It is a spacious home with a beautiful interior. The only downfall is that the upstairs did not have air and got very warm (visited during July).

Incredible home, amazing kitchen

This home is an amazing home with wonderful charm. The host is excellent and the home is very well equipped for a large group. It has the charm of an older home with the benefits of modern updates, especially the kitchen. We were only able to stay for one night, but could easily have stayed longer and enjoyed cooking in the kitchen and relaxing.

Traveled with friends to see family and attend Corn Palace Days. We have stayed at the 1888 Victorian House several times and it is always a great experience.

Love this property!

Nicely remodeled home. It has been great for my family gatherings. I might be nice to have a listing of restaurants grocery liquor stores and places to see. We are very familiar with the area but other guests may like this!

Family Event

Needs improvement

You need to get rid of the couch because it is impossible to sleep on that junky furniture. It wasn't clean, incredibly uncomfortable and not level and we had to hunt down sheets and only 1 pillow was available in the closet. The note said linens were in a side table but they weren't. The sheets also had dust and hair on them when pulled from the closet. Very few towels were available for the kitchen and bath and for the amount of people it could sleep, very few sitting places in the living room so we couldn't hang out together. Needs better attention to the details Really shouldn't sleep more than 3 adults since 1 bed is only a full and the day bed for the kids.

This was a perfect rental for our softball tournament. Was nice to have three full size bathrooms and the space to spread out and make meals!
