"Exclusive" River Cabin on Stilts

Come visit this perfect weekend getaway! Located in an “exclusive” laid back river cabin community with amazing views of the Mississippi River, great fishing opportunities and lots of wildlife. Only located 8 miles from a small town USA that has restaurants and golfing. All river cabins in this area are on stilts due to seasonal flooding. This location is a three bedroom, one bath with recent mid-century modern updates. In addition to this river cabin being one of the newest in the area it is also one of the only cabins that has wifi! Hurry up and book now! This river cabin is only available between Spring and Fall.

An inflatable paddle board and two inflatable kayaks are available to use during our guests stay.


About our river community…
River communities much like the one we are located in where first built in the 1950’s. This way families could go on vacation without traveling far away. From there they were past down from generation to generation and rarely went for sale. Which makes these communities tight knit and “exclusive”. Some cabins in the area are still being remodeled after years of flooding.

Most locals love to fish, go on boat rides, side by side rides and have bonfires on the weekend. If your not into fishing you can read a book on the porch, barbecue on our ceramic akorn grill or go golfing at the local golf course. River life is all about being yourself and having fun. During the week you can expect quite evenings and during the weekend our neighbors are also enjoying the area.

*Due to our remote area all cabins in this area have a shallow point well to receive water. Our water has been filtered and is also sanitized through a water system. It’s perfect for showers and cleaning dishes however we prefer to drink bottled water. (The water is high in iron and can give off a smell from time to time.)*

Great Stay

Good weekend away as our son played in a baseball tournament. We had beautiful weather for fishing off the dock. Would stay again.

Great River Cabin!

We all really enjoyed our stay at this river cabin! It was very clean and nicer than we could have anticipated. The owners were great communicators and made sure every detail was tended to. Highly recommended!!

Relaxing weekend

Unique and great property

Our family had a great time at this very clean and well-stocked home. It's a fun hideaway along the river and there are plenty of historic landmarks and cities within driving distance.

We had a group of 6, this house was perfect for us. The area is peaceful and quiet. The home was clean and decorated so cute. We would certainly consider staying again at this home and we will recommend it to others.

Great weekend getaway

The cabin was cute and nicely updated. The inside was very clean, well furnished, and stocked with all of the essentials. The outside had some useful amenities and a relaxing atmosphere but it wasn't as well kept as the inside. There were tons of spider webs, which wasn't unexpected, but the entire exterior could have used a good powerwash.The location/neighborhood seemed somewhat ok but it isn't the most diverse place and some may not feel welcome in that area. The neighbor next door that is renovating his cabin was very friendly and even suggested a few things for us to do.Overall we enjoyed our stay and the host was quick to respond whenever I had to communicate with them.

Great River Place

Excellent communication with the host. The place had everything we needed and had a great view of the Mississippi River. I would definitely stay again in the future and recommend this relaxing environment to anyone.

Amazing view

This property was just as pictured! It was absolutely what we needed to relax and unwind!!! Will definitely stay again! The only downside was one of the neighbors was a little loud but it did not bother us.

The home has a great view of the river! The owners keep the home well maintained and very clean. Many extras stocked in the home if you forget anything. I had a wonderful birthday getaway!! Thank you!!

I'm trying to be fair. 3 stars because it is a beautiful location would be a 5 if we didn't experience issues.Upon arrival: Most of the dishes were unclean (we cleaned everything we wanted to use when we arrived). No dish clothes to wash the dishes so we had to use a towel. Dozens of flies (we killed several, others just joined us as un-invited guests). Water went out (after contacting owner we found out their system flushes every 3 days and water is out about an hour but should have disclosed this).Tseveral strands of long hair in the bathroom The tv didn't work the roku stick was misplaced? daughter went behind t.v. to look for it and it was very dirty with cobwebs, etc. on the floor. No luck - again, not a major deal).When these concerns were mentioned we received prompt replies but one "blamed" things on the cleaning person must not having checked the dishes that were put away, etc. because they had guests for 2 weeks prior that were "extra messy." While instructions said to do dishes before we leave, we didn't (again, no wash clothes & we were in a hurry - we also forgot to take out the trash to which the owner was gracious about). VRBO require hosts to perform enhanced cleaning and disinfecting between stays, which includes thoroughly washing all dishes and utensils - not just what is left in the dishwasher. Otherwise, who is to say a guest didn't let their dog lick clean. Offered refund but didn't get full refund back.

Great River Getaway

The river cabin was immaculate and beautiful. Maddy and Parker have thought about everything from a first aid kit to "crocs". The cabin is so clean and comfortable. They have everything you could need to have an enjoyable trip...even for my dogs! We enjoyed the porch and patio, playing bags, relaxing in the hammock and swings and fishing. We were able to get groceries nearby and there were also several restaurants. The only disappointment was that the dock broke free from the walkway on day 2. The owners sent a very nice neighbor over to see if he could help, but it was not a quick fix. The kids were bummed that they couldn't fish for the 2nd half of our trip. Maddy was very responsive to any questions or issues that came up and I would definitely recommend staying here.

Online listing says water may occasionally give off a smell

And what actually happens is that the hot water smells like sulphur/rotten eggs every time which makes for a nauseating shower experience that, while I was able to power through unpleasantly and very disappointedly, my kiddo wasn't able to partake in. When I communicated this to the owner, I was met with dismissal of the issue and a general defensiveness that made the whole matter even worse. We will definitely look for another lodging solution next time we are in the area visiting family... I think for the premium rental price being asked, a nice bathing experience is not too much to ask for!

Cozy Cabin Time

Our group of four just wanted a place to unwind and visit with each other in a comfortable and cozy location. This fit the bill. The bedrooms were roomy, the bathroom very clean and beautifully updated and the extra large living area unabled us to cook, watch TV and visit at the same time. The weather was too cold to enjoy the spacious deck, hammock, firepit and swings but we were looking for a cold, holiday setting - so it was perfect! I would definitely consider booking again in warmer weather. The town was close by for eating out and shopping. We all loved every bit of it. Thanks for sharing your beautiful home!!

Perfect!

This is a wonderful property! All communication with the host was quick, friendly, and helpful. The home was spotless upon arrival, and we were so grateful for the extra treats left for us. The home is decorated beautifully, and all of the furniture/bedding was very comfortable. This was a wonderful place to just sit and watch the river roll by. We could not have asked for a better experience. Thank you for sharing this property to make for a perfect weekend!

A little slice of heaven

This was a great place! The owners have gone to every length to see to it the place is like home. They thought of every single detail down to the lint roller on the desk! The house was well maintained, and that porch! What an awesome way to start the day! Fishing wasn’t great but fun nonetheless! I can’t think of a thing they could do to improve this place!

Amazing place

We really enjoyed our stay in this wonderful house. Perfect location, the house was newly updated, very clean, beautifully furnished and had every possible thing one could need! Especially loved taking our morning coffee and sitting out on the porch and enjoying the view. Great place to unwind. Wi-Fi worked great. The owners were very responsive to our questions.

Stunning vacation view of the Mississippi

Very stylish house with a million dollar view of the Mighty Mississippi. We thoroughly enjoyed the clean and modern decor, but especially liked spending time on the deck, in the hammock, and on the dock. So very nice to find treats waiting for us in our arrival, and a kitchen stocked with everything we needed, including snacks and goodies. Loved it.

We bought this property in 2020 and spend about a year renovating it from a hunting river cabin to a mid-century modern family-friendly river cabin. We absolutely love this laid-back area, and the river views are amazing especially during sunset. We definitely suggest bringing some bicycles or kayaks if you are up for an adventure. The river cabin is surrounded by a conservation area that is full of wildlife such as birds, foxes, turtles, deer, and more. Our spot on the river is perfect for fishing and relaxing.
