The Space:
Experience a piece of Southern Maryland history. Bancroft Manor was among the first homes along St Leonard's creek. Every square foot of this house was renovated in 2019 - but the unique Tidewater Maryland architecture remains.

The Manor resides on 3 secluded acres. Close to everything Southern Maryland has to offer, yet feels a million miles away.

The Garden Cottage has a private yard with gas grill and and it's own private entrance. There are no spaces (other than the 3 acres of property grounds) that are shared with other guests or the owners.

Your suite is appointed in absolute luxury! Not a detail has been missed in making this your new favorite get away spot.

The kitchen has a full fridge, electric range/oven and large single basin sink. As well as everything you need to prepare and enjoy a meal. The kitchen also has a microwave, keurig coffee maker and dishwasher.

You'll find a starter supply of coffee pods, sugar packets, toilet paper (3), and paper towels (1).

Your living room is appointed with a 32 inch smart TV. Login to your Netflix, Hulu or Prime TV account and watch your favorite movie or show.

WIFI is available.

Your bedroom has a comfortable plush queen bed with nightstands and a lamp as well as easy reach for wireless device charging.

The bathroom has a shower/tub combo, and a good sized single sink vanity. You'll also find premium shampoo, conditioner and body wash should you need it. This bathroom is equipped with all the luxuries of home - including the size.

Enjoy your evenings in the garden with a glass of wine. Grab some local meat/produce just up the road at The Chesapeake's Bounty and fire up the grill. Or take a 5 minute stroll just down the road for a drink and dinner on the water at Vera's Beach Club.

The Neighborhood:
While this property is not directly on the water, the water is all around us and our property has seasonal water views. You can take a 5 minute walk down the road to Vera's and be right on the water for lunch/dinner and water fun.

Whatever you're looking for in a relaxing get away - you'll find it here in Solomons/Lusby! Launch a kayak, stand up paddle board, ride a jet ski, take a hike...or bring a book and just relax and enjoy a picnic on the property.

Solomons boardwalk is a 10 minute drive down the road with the best seafood this area has to offer. Drive (or take an Uber if you want throw back a couple cocktails) to Solomons and enjoy the best sunset you've seen in a long time.

Getting Around:
Everything SOMD has to offer is within a 10 minute drive -
Solomon's Island Boardwalk and restaurants, Calvert Cliffs State Park beaches and hiking, Fishing, boating and marinas are all within a short drive.

Other Things to Note:
** Parking will be in the lower driveway on the side of the house. You will walk the gravel path along the side of the house and across the length of the back of the property to find the Garden Cottage. Please see pictures in the listing showing the walk. It's about 250 feet of gravel path from the parking area to the Cottage. **

Great Weekend Getaway

Excellent apartment

This is a wonderful, exceptionally clean and comfortable place to stay in a quiet neighbourhood. The host, Julie, was excellent with respect to communicating and making sure everything went smoothly. We will definitely stay here again when in need of accommodations in the area.

Lovely, comfortable getaway!

We found this great property when looking for a convenient and comfortable place to stay near Jefferson Patterson Park (for a summer 5K). The apartment delivered! It is clean and welcoming with a well-appointed kitchen and modern decor. We ate several of our meals there and made use of the grill (modern, clean, and easy-to-operate). Our favorite times were in the morning, enjoying coffee in the main living area. This property is great for couples. It is a short drive to the grocery store, restaurants, and local attractions. We plan to sign-up for another 5k soon and stay here again.

Adorable Getaway

Absolutely loved our stay here. We had never been to the Lusby/Solomon's Island area and it did not disappoint. The little oasis Julie has created was perfection. The string lights from the car to the cottage, the homey vibe, and the seclusion from the rest of the manor was executed flawlessly. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay!

Fabulous Weekend

The property was lovely - well decorated, clean and nicely appointed. The bed was very comfortable. Location was close enough to everything we wanted to do and communication with the host was great. Would definitely stay here again!

Great stay near Solomons

This property was spotless and well-appointed. It had all of the typical starter things and much more - great soaps, plenty of Keurig cups, sugar, creamer, etc. The cottage isn't huge but the space is used well. Also all of the furniture was in very good shape - we couldn't be happier with our 4 night stay! Thank you.

Perfect Getaway

This is a lovely cottage that is perfect for a couple and/or a single person looking to getaway from a busy city lifestyle. Especially if you're in need of r&r. Julie is a great host. She emailed excellent recommendations of things to do in the area and even emailed us to make sure we had everything we needed. We definitely recommend staying here.

Great place to stay!

The cottage was very clean. The owner Julie communicated very well with us and also gave us our space while we stayed. The cottage is set in a peaceful and relaxing environment but close enough to town. Very nice place to stay for a weekend getaway.

Birthday/Anniversary Getaway

We wanted a get away to relax. This place was perfect. It was extremely clean and welcoming. We enjoyed the outside space in the evening. It was a great location to restaurants and local attractions. Restaurants at Solomon's Island were fantastic. We greatly enjoyed the seafood at the Hideaway and the Light house restaurants. Thanks!

Not a retreat place for elderly people

We got there early. Thanks God. Parking is very narrow and tricky, I would advise to back up to park. And cook luck in the dark. This is a nice property to walk around. From parking to the cottage, there is a pretty heavy walk on stone and a few high steps. Inside was clean but very small compared to the picture. There was a light smell of humidity and an air filter in the corner. Wi-Fi was inconsistant. Many light bulbs were burnt out. Kitchen has some minor issues too. Very basic appliances. So if you prepare to make a smoothie in the morning, bring your equipment. This is a nice place but it needs some love. Maybe for young people it would be ok. This said, the property manager, Julie was very quick answering our emails.

Romantic Getaway

My boyfriend and I spend the weekend at this lovely garden cottage. We spent a lot of time in the beautiful garden just enjoying the quietness. The only sounds that you hear are birds singing or the squirrels rustling through the leafage. The cottage is very cozy, clean and had to offer everything that you need. I would definitely recommend this to our friends. Thank you Julie for being a wonderful host!

Just fishing

Perfect location for fishing , point lookout Solomon’s fishing boat ramps. Easy drive . Peaceful quiet stay with everything u need just bring passwords and food or dine out. Will book again soon.

Good Time on the Manor

We really enjoyed our visit to the Solomons Island area. It was always so nice to return to the Garden Cottage. It was as advertised, clean, well equipped and offered great outdoor space to start and end a day. Julie was attentive and quick to respond when we had questions. We would definitely consider a return trip.

Weekend Getaway

My husband and I enjoyed a weekend getaway at Julie’s cozy cottage. The place was exactly as described and from the pictures shown on line. Super clean, new, quality kitchen wares, and very comfy beds. The location was very accessible to Calvert Cliffs, Anne Marie Sculpture Museum, and the Calvert Marine Museum. Julie was super sweet once we made contact with her. We would definitely recommend to friends and family, and would book again on a return trip.

Great central point for shark tooth hunting

We were in that part of Maryland to explore some of the beaches by the cliffs that are supposedly filled with shark teeth. Our accommodations were immaculately clean and well stocked. Nice extra touches like coffee Kcups, shampoo, body wash, snacks, couple waters. We were mostly just pleased with the overall decorations and cleanliness. Great find and centrally located for Calvert Cliffs and other beach/cliff parks.

Private getaway

A peaceful, private getaway in the woods. But still close to hiking, restaurants, museums! This is a comfortable, cozy apartment, and provided a great home base from which we hiked, went birding, and ate lots of seafood all across Southern Maryland. Julie was great to communicate with, answered my many questions prior to arrival, and left us goodies in the kitchen.
