Welcome to Eddie Bauer's former Beach Cottage! This gem is situated on just over one acre with approx. 300’ of beach waterfront. Surrounded by natures medicine, the Strait of Juan De Fuca is located to the North and Bullman Creek to the West. Spending time at this oasis you will find that time slips away from you. Look no further for your quiet, beach front home-away-from-home!

More about the inside space: The home was once owned by Eddie Bauer, our local Sporting wear/gear legend. Read the provided in the book about him and articles that have been saved about him and the area. The cabin itself is like a snapshot in time, it is retro in its look and pure family in its feel. The home has a nice open floor plan comfortably holding 6 guests. In the main house there are two bedrooms, one bath, a fully stocked kitchen, a cozy living room, dining room, washer & dryer. In the "Flop House" house there are two twin beds, a kitchenette and a half bath next door in the laundry room. We provide all basic necessities to make you feel at home including but not limited to; linens, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, oil for cooking, salt & pepper, tea, coffee, creamer. Starlink is available.

More about the outside space: Guests have access to a large yard, beach, creek, firepit, the "Flop House" and laundry room.

Why this location and home? This home is one of a kind, you won't find another home with this kind of access to nature, the background, and location. No matter the weather or season you visit, you are sure to find yourself soaking up all this home has to offer. Just 10 minutes from Neah Bay and about 25 minutes to Sekiu/Clallam bay. Makah Reservation is now open!

We will be available by phone or message 24/7 so please don't hesitate to ask any questions. This home provides self check-in. All property & guest guidebook info is available on the airbnb app.

This neighborhood is quaint and offers endless opportunity to soak up the beautiful surroundings. Just 10 minutes from Neah Bay and about 25 minutes to Sekiu/Clallam bay.

This home is very remote. You must have transportation.

*There will be a Security deposit for $500 held against your card 48 hours before arrival. If no damage is reported by staff, this will be released 24 hours after checkout*

-Important: All cancellations are subject to a non-refundable payment processing fee. For VRBO bookings, this is listed as an “administrative fee” and is calculated at 5.5% of the base rate to reflect the payment processing and integration costs incurred on the full reservation amount, including cleaning and tax charges. Direct bookings (website): 4% fee. This fee covers third-party processing costs and is not retained by us. Thank you for understanding!
- Maximum number of guests not to exceed 8.

-No pets without prior written approval and payment of pet fee.

-Only use fire pit if you have adequate experience and know how to operate safely. Use of the fireplace, fire pit, is at your own risk and with the understanding that you are responsible for any damage caused by your use of the same. Please do not introduce unapproved items in the woodstove – just firewood, kindling, matches, fire starters, Duraflame Logs, and this goes for the fire pit as well.

-Local fire-ban ordinances must be observed with regards to the outside fire pit. Care must be taken to keep fires under control and to a reasonable size.

-This house uses a septic system; ONLY toilet paper can be flushed.

-Because we keep our home sparkly clean for you, we kindly ask that you lend a helping hand. Clean any dishes used, put dirty laundry in hamper, you know the basic stuff... It helps keep the cleaning costs down for you and future guests.

-We're keeping the floors clean for our guests, please no shoes in house.

-Accidents happen, when they do please notify us as soon as possible. This is the best way to ensure the return of your security deposit.

-No illegal drugs allowed.

-Please be respectful of our neighbors. You'd be surprised how sound travels through the neighborhood, please keep noise to a minimum between the hours of 10:00pm and 8:00am.

-Please help mother earth. Turn lights and accessories off; heat at 65 degrees when not in use.

-No smoking of anything allowed indoors, smoke it outside please.

-We are honored you decided to choose, however if your goal is to throw a party this is not the destination for you. Any such behavior will result in immediate removal from the property.

-Want to stay an extra hour or so? Should be fine but requires approval, let us know in advance.

-Please stay out of the attic, crawlspace, shop and storage areas. These areas are dangerous and not designed for guests.

-PARKING – Parking is limited to 2 vehicle(s). Vehicles are to be parked on the driveway only. Any illegally parked cars in the community are subject to towing; applicable fines/towing fees are the sole responsibility of the vehicle owner.

-Housekeeping: There is no daily housekeeping service. While linens and bath towels are included in the unit, daily maid service is not included in the rental rate. We do not permit towels or linens to be removed from the cabin.

-Storm: No refunds will be given in the event that a storm or severe weather conditions limits your accessibility to our cabin or causes a power outage. We recommend all-wheel drive/four-wheel drive and/or chains during snowstorms. We do not refund due to road conditions; however, we will assess this case by case and are willing to compensate accordingly to make it fair for both parties.

- Check-out: Guests will be charged an extra $25 for late check out; check out time is 11:00am unless otherwise talked about with the host. The charge is $25 per 30 minute increment. Thank you for being respectful of the hosts and cleaners time.

-Housekeeping: There is no daily housekeeping service. While linens and bath towels are included in the unit, daily maid service is not included in the rental rate. We do not permit towels or linens to be removed from the home.

-We do not permit supplies, furniture, decorative items, appliances, and other furnishings to be removed from the home. Please leave the home as you found it.

-Please do not play with or tamper with the decorations on walls or shelfs. These are for guests to enjoy, not for play.

-Violations of these rules can result in additional fees or immediate cancelation of your reservation and removal from the property without refund.

- PERSONAL ITEMS: Please check the home for any of your personal items left behind. It is extra work for our cleaners to gather the items, take them to the post office and ship them. For any items left behind we are happy to mail them out however there will be a $50 charge to pay for our time.

-No glass or utensils should travel down to the beach. For your safety, orange plastic glasses are provided for beach use.

- Beach treasures are always fun to find but please do not rinse them off in any of the sinks on the property. Please use the outdoor hose to do so.

- This house does not have drinking water. Please only use running water for bathing, brushing teeth, washing dishes and clothes. We have filtered water for guest use.

- While we are excited to have you fishing our local waters, we do not permit any fish cleaning on the property. Please clean fish at boat launch or marina. If fish have been cleaned on property there will be a charge of $200 or more for cleaning.

Guest(s) shall fully hold harmless Wanderers Choice LLC and its associates from any and all claims, lawsuits, causes of action, liability, loss, damage and/or injury, of any kind whatsoever including without limitation all claims for monetary loss, property damage, equitable relief personal injury and/or wrongful death.

The place was very well laid out beautiful scenery. Couldn’t ask for a better beach fishing was excellent. The house was very well stocked and very well laid out. I will definitely stay there again.

Lovely Location

Old school cabin, retro even. Great location. Price was fair and the view and beach were fantastic. I will rent again. It’s a bit of a Eddie Bauer museum of sorts which was fun.

Great place to enjoy the beach

We stayed for two nights and wished we had booked longer. The house is cozy but more space than we had anticipated especially with the “flop” house. The vintage stove was so cool the kids were amazed. We loved the proximity to the beach with lots of great beach combing.

Old school and immaculate

The property is a quintessential 1930s sportsman's cabin right on the ocean. It may be old but it has been immaculately cared for, preserved and cleaned. Looking forward to another stay.

Waterfront time capsule

Wonderful stay at Eddie Bauer's former cottage, a wonderfully preserved waterfront gem along the Strait de Juan de Fuca. Perfect home base for all things Neah Bay/NW Olympic Peninsula. Very comfortable home with a well equipped kitchen, complete with a vintage pullout electric stove. Lovingly maintained with lovely artwork created by Mrs. Bauer. Quiet remote location, though some road noise from Rte 112. Limited options for eating out in the area, but found some fantastic salmon chowder at Calvin's Crabhouse and a well stocked grocery store at Washburn's in Neah Bay. All in all a wonderful time!

Even cloudy and raining this is a nice spot. When the skies clear, it is a spectacular spot!

Clean, comfortable house with one of the most amazing locations of any VRBO we have ever used. Nice beach with a view across the straight to Vancouver Island mountains on a clear day. Living space is ideally designed to enjoy the view. Many highlights but we particularly enjoyed watching the eagles steal the seagulls’ food scraps. Come prepared with groceries. Come prepared with earplugs or white noise. The bedrooms are literally fifty feet away from the highway and there was traffic noise all night.

Cabin by the sea

Lovely cabin with a beautiful view of the water. We appreciated the nice little touches everywhere. Make sure you check local news/maps before you drive out as some roads may be closed.
