There's a particular kind of quiet that settles in on the east side of Traverse City, where Gold Coast Inn looks out over Grand Traverse Bay. This second-floor lake view room catches it fully — calming decor, soft light, and a view of the water that changes with the hour. It's a modern, self-check-in boutique hotel built for travelers who want ease without losing the feeling of being somewhere special.

A comfortable queen bed anchors the room, with a Roku TV, mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker for the small comforts of home. Free parking, fast WiFi, and complimentary access to Iron House Gym are included, and the Traverse Area Recreation Trail runs right out the back door.

From Memorial Day through Labor Day, summer weekends bring complimentary wine and charcuterie on the shared balcony as the sun goes down over the bay.

Downtown Traverse City is about 5 miles away, with Traverse City State Park Beach, Grand Traverse Resort & Spa, and Cherry Capital Airport all close by — along with the region's wineries, breweries, and waterfront dining.

The lake front view room was out of this world! Very clean and comfortable. The summer weekend champagne and charcuterie board was a great touch! I would 5/5 recommend :)

The communication from the property was excellent, as was the simplicity of the check-in process and the information provided. The view from my room was Beautiful, it was a short walk to a couple places to eat if you didn’t feel like getting g back in your car. The shared spaces on each floor were very nice. The rooms were bright and clean, though a bit spartan on the furnishings and little details.

Its right across the street from the water. Great voew from the balcony. When we got there, there was a woman who was in the lobby with champagne and charcuterie for the guests. Our room was small, but cute and clean. There is a really cute community livingroom on our floor with a tv, couch, games, fridge, coffee maker and microwave. It would be a real fun place to rent with other couples because you have that space to hang out in, or to meet others visiting there! We ended up having to leave and didnt get to stay the night due to a situation at home (lost power for 8 hrs and teens at home with nothing) but we would definitely come back!

It seems like it was a hotel at one time and the hotel rooms were all converted to individual VRBO rooms. There is a keypad with code for the exterior entrance. Each room also has it's own keypad with code assigned at check-in. There are very nice gathering spaces on the main floor and even the second floor. There are living room, dining room and kitchen areas that are shared spaces. The property was clean, well designed, convenient and in great shape. Would definitely stay again!
