One of Folly’s Best! The Surf Shack is a very cozy beach house hidden behind beautiful live oaks. Just a quick walk to the beach you will find everything you need for a relaxing beach vacation. Enjoy the sand and the sun during the day then come back and relax at night around the outdoor fire pit with Adirondack chairs and twinkling outdoor lighting. This beach house vacation rental features two bedrooms and one bath providing ample space for sun-seeking guests on the screened in porch or the outdoor deck. The Surf Shack is your private oasis right in the middle of Folly Beach. 1 block away from the sand and 2 blocks from Bert’s Market for all your needs. Leave refreshed and with memories and plans for a quick return. Surf Shack allows only 1 well-behaved, house-broken, flea-treated dog with approval. Please include the breed and size of your dog when you inquire.
This property is licensed by the city of Folly Beach as a vacation rental - License Number 012907. Because of the potential of fraud we would not recommend booking a property not licensed by the city of Folly Beach as a vacation rental.

The property as advertised was close to the beach, pier and town.Which were all excellent.However, the property on the outside was overgrown, the outdoor shower was uninviting, the fire pit was loaded with debris, not even a few logs to burn.The deck was ok, but the steps are in need of repair.The front steps in my opinion, were dangerous with a small walkway which had several pavers which were sticking out of the ground.The first step from the driveway was 12" high, which is not up to any building code.The grill was laughable, like something you would buy in a dollar store.The inside was clean but the floors pitched in several directions.It was dated, unappealing with limited decor.The bathroom is tiny with a leaking shower.Maybe all this would not bother younger people but for older couples we would not recommend. Cool little cottage in the woods!Super easy walk to the beach. Deck, screened porch, fire pit.Some may think it's a bit past it's prime, but it's very cool and all we needed for a place to stay at the beach!to stay

Hire a carpenter!

The house was clean and very easy access to the beach. The bottom front step was a potential trip. The back screen door was falling apart. The back deck was tilted and sinking. The "firepit" was a pile of broken cement blocks. Invest in some professional carpentry

Surf shack vacation

LOVED the surf shack. Perfect size for our family. Steps from the ocean. Close enough to Folly amenities and restaurants to walk but far enough to keep some distance during noisy weekend nights. A perfect oasis we are still dreaming about. We will be back! Thanks for a great stay.

Sisters weekend!

This property is on the main road but I did not hear the traffic while in the house! Just a block from the beach and 3 blocks from the main intersection on the island. Loved the Jack and Jill bathroom with the bedrooms. Great little weekend getaway! Thank you so much!

Early check in

This was a nice place & close to everything at Folly Beach. Was disappointed that we weren't allowed to enter the property early. Driving from a long distance we arrived approx. 2 hours early & the property was vacant, no cleaning crew etc., we had to sit in the driveway & wait. Don't see the harm/risk of letting us in early.

Great location

The Shack is easy walking to the beach and to shops and restaurants. It was very clean and there were no problems. We didn't use the yard, but there is a fire pit, shower and deck.

Cute house. Miserable bed.

The house itself was cute. But the bed was so lumpy and uncomfortable that we actually let a day early because we couldn't bare another night trying to sleep on the bed. The window blinds were all torn up as well.

Perfect October get away

The surf shack was a great place to stay for a short vacation. The dog loved it and it was quaint, clean and easy to get to the best that folly has to offer. We would absolutely visit again.

Perfect location!

This is the cutest little cottage and a perfect location on Folly. There are lots of nice windows and a screen porch. The house is decorated comfortably and is very clean. A side note: The floors are uneven and almost wavy in places which is very difficult for someone who suffers from vertigo but if that doesn’t apply to you, they are original and in an original surf cottage that is charming.

Long Weekend

The proximity to the beach is wonderful and we had everything we needed for our two nights. Beds were comfortable and the management company was attentive. Parking was easy and the key-less entry worked well. We would go back.

Clean and cozy

The house was really nice and cozy. I loved the screened in porch. The house was very clean. There were alot more supplies than I thought there would be. I loved that it had alot of the privacy from the trees even though we were so close to everything. The limbs do need trimming around the deck area.

Cozy Bungalow

My wife and I enjoyed a few days away at the Surf Shack. We particularly enjoyed the screened in porch. We spent a lot of time there enjoying each others company while reading and soaking in the scenery. The Surf Shack is just a few hundred yards from the 3rd street beach access and we had a nice surprise of beach chairs to take down to the beach for fun in the sun and surf. You are just a short walk from all the restaurants and bars, as well as Burt’s Market, the local grocery store. Like the other reviews, we found the shower a bit small and a little tricky to dial in the hot water, but overall a fun little bungalow for a enjoyable stay at Folly Beach.
