Enjoy our place at the edge of the redwood forest. One of the best places to relax and enjoy a quiet stay or to get busy with all of the attractions Crescent City and the surround area has to offer. Jedediah Smith National Redwoods for walking and hiking,, Smith River to swim, fish or kayak, visit the ocean and the local harbor where one can book day tours or just enjoy Saturday's farmers market. For the less ambitious, short walks on our non-fenced property might be more your style.

Perfect location for hiking in Jedidiah Smith state park. Ana and Gearhard’s home and property is lovely!The guest cottage is clean, orderly and comfortable. Shower had great water pressure and the bed was so nice.

We absolutely loved our stay at Redwood Hideaway! We were greeted by our friendly hosts who took the time to show us everything and made us feel so comfortable. The surroundings were amazing! Redwoods, flowers, peace and quiet. Our accommodations were immaculate, filled with all everything we needed. Fresh eggs and coffee were left for our breakfasts. The bed was cozy and comfortable, even the shower was great. Jedediah Smith Redwoods were just down the road and Crescent City was very close for the beach, shopping and restaurants. We highly recommend anyone to stay here and thank our hosts for the warm and generous hospitality!! Frances & Joe, Colorado Springs, CO

A Hidden Gem

First of all, Ana was a fantastic host and very polite and accommodating! It was easy to contact her before and during our stay. We had a bit of downtime and got to talk with her and check out her geese! You may hear them from time to time, but it was not an issue at all. Her dog is very sweet and friendly as well. The property location is fantastic! Our goal was to see the Redwoods and Sequoias, and check out the coast. It is only a short drive to some nearby trails, and it is equally close to Crescent City and the coastline. After the long mornings and late evenings out, this was the perfect place to unwind and recharge. It is very peaceful and quiet. We were out a lot and had packed our own meals, but Ana had offered the use of the bbq, and there is an electric pan available inside the kitchen. There was a lot to love about our stay here. If I had any critique, it would be that there was some dog hair on the bed sheets. Totally understandable due to owning a dog myself, but still may raise a thought if you are not used to it. As for the property, it is connected to the garage, which is seperate from the main house, only connected by the overhead cover. So you have privacy to rest and relax as you need to. Again, this place was a hidden gem! We would stay again if given the opportunity.

Hosts were very nice people who met us when we arrived. Beautiful gardens, love Harry the goose, and the quiet of the redwoods. Cottage is cute and well equipped. Had a nice 2 nights.

Beautiful property with a private guest house in the Redwood State Park area. The hosts were available if needed but gave us privacy. The guest house had everything we needed to enjoy our visit to the Redwood Parks. Would definitely book again if in the area.

Red Wood Forest Hideout

We really enjoyed our stay at the secluded and quiet guest house surrounded by large red wood trees. Our hosts were very friendly and accomodating. This was a great base for exploring the Red Wood Forest parks.

Cozy stay by the redwoods

Ana and her husband were wonderful host. They were very attentive, kind and friendly. My son and I had breakfast in the patio and enjoyed every minute of it. This location is great if you are looking for peace and quiet.

Beautiful Woodland Back Yard…With a Goose.

The guest apartment was very sweet with a nice little back porch looking out into the lush forest. Absolutely idyllic setting. However, the owner and their pet goose are a constant distraction. We just wanted to relax, take a nap and do our own thing, but they made that pretty difficult. If you don’t want to socialize constantly with your host, do not stay here.

Amazing Stay - Wonderful Hosts!

I don’t normally leave reviews but had to for Ana & her husband. They’re both super nice & Mrs. Ana is one of those rare, thoughtful hosts who stock & furnish the unit with everything one could want or need - from extra cold sodas & bottled water, to a baby playpen & crib, to bedside stand plugs for your devices & a jewelry tray so you don’t drop/lose earrings or rings when taking them off for bed after a long day sightseeing the beautiful north coast redwoods. Ana also shared wonderful fresh eggs from her free-range chickens & her unit has cooking spices, olive oil, plenty of kcup coffee pods, lovely dishes & flatware (or plastic silverware/paper plates if you don’t want the cleanup!) & quality bath products & towels. In short, we had an amazing stay with super kind hosts. We stayed two nights but could call them friends for what lovely people they are, who made our trip a genuine pleasure!

Redwood Elopement!

My fiancé and I were planning a trip from South Mississippi to elope in the majestic Redwood forest with no knowledge of the area. Ms. Ana was absolutely amazing! She stayed in contact with me to help me find someone to do my hair and make up. She even let me ship my bridal bouquet early! She even has wine, flowers and chocolate waiting for us! She is the friendliest soul ever! And Mr. Gerhard was so sweet introducing us to Harry, their goose, and showing us around their property, which is absolutely breathtaking. Climbing the stump is a must! My (now) husband and I left to go home feeling like we were leaving behind old friends. We hope to one day visit them again! Refreshing

We came to get out of the heat from home. Not only was the weather refreshing so was the outdoor surroundings and above all the time spent getting to know Ana and Garett. We truly want to take break from the Rogue Valley again and come back especially so we can see Harry the pet gander and all the beautiful hydrangeas again!

Heart of the Redwoods

This is an amazing property and so peaceful to stay here. The property is 3 acres with the back porch facing the forest. The hosts made every effort to make this a wonderful experience and it shows. We will be back.

Perfect home base!

We loved staying here! It was my husband, 13yo son & me, and it worked perfectly for us. This was our home base as we explored the redwoods just a few minutes away. The hospitality was off the charts with Ms. Ana even bringing us fresh eggs from their chickens for breakfast. We loved exploring the backyard. The property is gorgeous & peaceful, and as I mentioned the hosts are just lovely. We would definitely stay here again & highly recommend staying here if you’re looking for a peaceful getaway.

Disappointed mildly....

The property owners live on the property and they are very nice courteous people. But, there is no privacy as the rental unit adjoins their residence. It's more of a bed and breakfast vibe, without any food. Our two complaints are; 1) There is no coffee maker that uses coffee beans. There is a machine that makes coffee from a sealed container one cup at a time. This is not our type of coffee. 2) After day one, the Hostess asked us very nicely to turn off the heater when we left the property for the day. The heater had a thermostat and we asked that it be set at 70 degrees when we were on the initial introduction to the room. I don't turn off my Heating system in my home when I leave and so I don't believe that I should have to do that in a rental environment that I'm paying for either. I like getting into a cozy bed and not an ice cold one at night when I return home.
