Welcome to the Nordic Hearth Cottage, a charming, historic three bedroom log home! This beautiful getaway with newly restored fireplace is set on an acre of land on Townline Drive, equidistant from the villages of Ephraim and Sister Bay, and right in the heart of Door County. Find shopping, restaurants, galleries, and a spa within steps of Nordic Hearth Cottage. By car, our central location on the peninsula puts our guests only minutes away from beaches, wineries, trolley tours, dozens of outdoor activities, and the breathtaking scenery that Door County has to offer!
Full of natural light and whimsical Scandinavian touches, this cozy cottage combines old world charm with all the comforts of home. Towels and bed linens are provided, and the newly remodeled bathroom is stocked with bar soap, toilet paper, and a hair dryer. Each of the bedrooms has a dresser and spacious closet, so unpack and make yourself at home! The kitchen is equipped with everything you need to prepare and serve home-cooked meals, and the open dining concept makes the space perfect for family gatherings. Stock up on groceries from the Piggly Wiggly just two miles from the cottage in Sister Bay, and help yourself to the tea and coffee we’ve already provided!
Nordic Hearth is the perfect place to unwind and enjoy some time away from it all. Get comfy in the living room and browse satellite TV channels, stream your favorite shows from your mobile device, or spend quiet time in the sunroom, (enjoy fantastic views of the sunrise/sunset!!), get lost in a book; or take in the beautiful surroundings as you lounge on the deck. The property’s large yard is the perfect place to make the most of Door County summer nights and stargaze away from city lights. Or, if you visit us in the winter, spend your evenings cozied up by the wood-burning stone fireplace- newly renovated. We also provide books, DVDs, and board games for rainy days. We absolutely fell in love with this place! It had EVERYTHING and more!! I can't believe the amount of thought the owners put into providing games, books, toys, info about the area, toiletries in the bathroom...it was unbelievable. Very clean...super super cute! We were so happy here..we were sad to leave!

When a home has 83 almost flawless reviews, it sure stands out. After staying there last week, this will be 84. Everything mentioned in review is true. Arriving from the south, I thought the cottage was secluded. But walk a city block and you’re right off Hwy 42; the main drag. A well stocked fire pit with comfortable chairs greeted us. Opening the door you were treated to clean and welcoming rooms throughout. Games for the kids, reading areas for the adults and a great yard to throw a Frisbee. And that well stocked kitchen? I needed and found a slotted ladle, cheese grater, measuring cups, glass pans, sharp knives, etc. To the side was a kitchen table that fit the seven of us. Lastly, the communication with Julia was wonderful. She was very gracious with her time and the use of her home.

This cottage was an experience, and I mean that in the best way! The owner has a true gift for design and cozy decor, and every room felt like the coziest, sweetest, prettiest movie set (except it's real). It's even better than in the listing photos. Usually I like to stay on the water, but I'm glad we didn't this time. This cottage feels magical. The house was very clean, of course, and the host was incredibly friendly and helpful. We arrived after dark, and she thoughtfully left lamps on so the house was warm and inviting when we opened the door. She was very quick to respond to any questions, and even left marshmallow sticks out for us (under a light) so we would be sure to find them. That was very thoughtful, because I had mentioned our kids wanted to roast marshmallows the night we arrived. The kitchen is marvelously equipped, with everything you'd need to cook a meal other than actual groceries. The whole house is equipped, actually-- it's so nice to stay at a place that doesn't make you bring along half your kitchen, extra garbage bags, beach towels, or shampoos and conditioners. This cottage feels like a HOME. Like you're expected, and cared for, and pampered. It's so lovely. When I showed my family friends this place, they all wanted to bookmark it, and some were jokingly upset I didn't invite them along! If you can, stay here. You'll remember it forever.

Beatiful Door County Getaway

Our favorite place to stay, right between Ephraim and Sister Bay, this charming summer cottage has plenty of space, a fully equipped kitchen, and comfy beds. Our host, Julia, has great communication and even checked in with a text to see how we were enjoying our 4 night stay. Highly recommend this cottage!

An absolute beautifully restored historical home set in the heart of Northern Door County. Quiet and private setting, yet close to the wonderful array of activities the area has to offer. Wonderful, expansive yard and plenty of trees and flower gardens to enjoy throughout the different seasons.
