Looking for an affordable vacation getaway. The Cottage at Willow Tree Retreat is a quaint small bungalow in a peaceful quite area close to the town of Damascus. The cottage is located less than 1 mile to the award winning Virginia Creeper Trail and and a short drive to Grayson Highlands State Park where the wild ponies roam.

Amazing property and Hosts

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Willow Tree Retreat & Cabin. Vickie & Michael were extremely responsive and wonderful hosts and the properties were lovely. Highly recommended!

This was a return visit for us and once again did not disappoint! Property had all the amenities listed and every small detail included. Kitchen was stocked with a variety of coffee, tea and hot chocolate pods for the Keurig, basic spices and condiments. Cheery porch lights were a welcome touch when returning after dark. The hot tub and deck chairs/seating were a pleasant addition since our last visit. Hope to visit again in the future.

Great place to stay

A co-worker and I stayed here while attending a conference in Abingdon. It was comfortable and the side deck with the hot tub is AMAZING! It is well stocked even though we did not cook it had everything you could ever need. Emails were responded to quickly and I would stay here again.

This was our second time to stay at this beautiful vacation home. When I walked in the front door the house had a wonderful clean scent. Love the layout of the house. The mattress was so comfortable. Nice fluffy towels. Living area most inviting. My husband and I biked the Creeper Trail which was 1/2 mile away. Quiet neighborhood. At the end of the day we relaxed in the jacuzzi. Just perfect for our getaway. We definitely will return soon!

Central location to adventure

Great cabin for central location to biking (VA Creeper Trail), hiking, restaraunts and more. The hot tub was an excellent way to help us regroup after some of the adventure. Pretty little cottage! Enjoyed it immensely!

Our Second Time. Just as good as the first!

We loved our stay here! This is the second time we have stayed at this house, and we can’t wait to come back again. We’d love the area, and the house is easily located to get around to all of the local cities. The host is very responsive, and we love what they’ve done to the hot tub and pergola area. We can’t wait to come back!

Amazing stay

Exceeded expectations! Hosts were very friendly and answered all questions in a timely manner. Property was beautiful. We made use of the front porch rocking chairs daily! Loved watching the deer in the evenings.

Willow Tree Retreat❤️

What a Great week in Damascus, VA! The area is fantastic but our accommodations at the Willow Tree Retreat is what really made our trip special! We have been staying in VRBOs for almost 15 years and this little cabin is by far the cleanest we’ve ever stayed in! Had all the amenities needed to be very comfortable and our host Vicki was super accommodating and responsive to where it didn’t feel like we were in a rental but staying in a friend’s/family home! Would highly suggest this cabin if vacationing in the area!

Beyond expectations

This property is absolutely beautiful, when we arrived we were stunned the pictures do this property no justice! We absolutely loved the big living room and most comfortable couch. Another great stay!

I would say the third times a charm, but with this property, that’s not necessary because the first two times were perfect stays already. Another perfect trip here, this time we brought our youngest daughter and she loved it too, especially the card game uno! Thanks for having that available for us to play!

Peaceful and relaxing cottage

We loved our stay at the Cottage at Willow Tree Retreat. Vicky and Christina were excellent hosts, excellent at communicating and provided everything we needed. The location of the property is perfect and close to the town center of Damascus. We enjoyed the firepit and all amenities on the property, you can even hear the river flow outside from the porch. We were very relaxed during our stay, we even met the very nice neighbors also. We cant wait to come back!

Great Fall Getaway

My husband and I always enjoy biking the Creeper Trail. This house was within a mile of the trail. The location was perfect, spacious and clean house, decorated beautifully, very quiet relaxing neighborhood, comfortable bed. Also may I add very nice hosts. We will plan to return again very soon.

Absolutely perfect!

The cottage was beautiful, clean, and had every thing we needed. We especially appreciated the beautiful scenery and peaceful, quiet neighborhood. The hot tub was also perfect once it cooled down in the evenings. It was only an 8 min drive to rent bicycles to ride the Creeper Trail from this location and if we would’ve brought our own, we could’ve started from the cottage. This is the ONLY place to stay if you need to be in the area!

Great stay!

We had a great stay at this cute cabin! It’s laid out well with plenty of space. The beds were comfy and we liked the privacy and quietness of the location. It’s a quick, 5 minute drive to downtown Damascus where there are shops and great restaurants. We really liked Mojo’s and Wicked Chicken. We biked the Virginia Creeper Trail and had so much fun! We had hoped to hike part of the Appalachian Trail, which is right in town but the rain set in on our last day.

Another great stay!

This was our second time here, we’ll be back. I love the smell when we walked in. The tv was nice, we watched supermarket sweep and strongman shows for more hours than we’ve watched tv shows in the past two years! The only complaint that I have is that the magnetic shower head was so nice that my wife is now making me buy one for our shower. Obviously joking, that’s not a complaint, we 100% love this place!

Adorable small town cottage

Best experience so far with VRBO. Communication with host was super easy and she was very responsive. The cottage itself was immaculate, probably the cleanest house I’ve ever stayed in. The setting was very idyllic and quiet. Perfect for a quick weekend recharge. I loved the gas fire place out on the front porch, it was perfect to sit out in the evening and read. It is also a great location if you’re planning on bike, riding the Virginia creeper trail for a homebase. If we’re ever back in this area, we will definitely book this place again!
