Summary
Treat yourself to a luxurious adventure in this Hout Bay spot. Located on the top floor of a large house, it is 300m2 inside plus a 100m2 private deck, boasting spectacular north facing valley and mountain views. High speed WiFi with backup inverter power. Smart 55 inch TV plus Netflix. Communal facilities include a large sparkling blue pool, an outside built-in braai area, 2 firepits and a large landscaped garden. Secure parking for 2-4 vehicles. Only +-5 kilometers to two beaches. Book now!

The space
The top floor of the large house is called the "Annapurna Apartment". It's an unbelievably awesome and luxurious 300m2 + 100m2 space is all to yourself, made up of 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, accommodating up to 6 people very comfortably. The rest of the property is communal use, which you'll share with a combination of long-term tenants and other Airbnb guests. However, don't fret, it's a very large property, there is ample space for everybody to enjoy their privacy and quiet time.

The name "Annapurna" is taken from a mountain peak in Nepal, as a testimony to the breath-taking, sweeping views of the Hout Bay valley below and the surrounding mountains. There are no words that can really convey how awesome the views are, and you will no doubt spend many hours just admiring them during your stay.

The apartment boasts down to earth features merged with luxurious highlights. The living area has solid wooden floors, contrasted with the bedrooms plush carpets. The living area has two crystal chandeliers, compared with the bedrooms dimmable downlighters. On warmer days, open up all the windows to let the view in, and enjoy the cool ocean breeze drifting over the mountaintop from Llandudno Beach a mere 800 meters away, as the eagle flies.

The main bedroom welcomes in the valley views, is quite spacious, has ample cupboard space with both a “his and hers” section, and has an ensuite bathroom. The bathroom boasts a large walk-in shower, a separate bath, and a beautiful mirror and marble basin vanity (and of course, the ever-necessary toilet).

The second bedroom enjoys afternoon sunshine, is medium-sized, has sizable cupboard space and a sliding door from the bedroom onto the outside wooden deck.

The third bedrooms also enjoys the late sun, is smaller than the other two, and therefore could be described as small, yet still manages to fit a king-size bed nonetheless, and also has sufficient cupboard space. A communal bathroom offers a shower, toilet and basin. There is a communal outside laundry area with washing machine and a covered washline.

Guest access
The garden, pool area and outside entertainment areas are for communal use by all staying on the property. However, the apartment itself and the spacious wooden deck off the living area of the apartment is for your use only.

We do have a booking schedule for the outside built-in-braai area and the two firepits, and you will need to book a spot, if it's available, to make sure there's no conflict with others staying on the property.

Outside table and chairs are positioned at key viewpoints through-out the property for guests to make use of whilst they enjoy the garden and pool area. There is enough space for everybody.

Other details to note
Smoking
No smoking of any kind inside the apartment (this includes e-cigarettes and hubbly bubbly). If you are a smoker, please only smoke outside and discard of your ash and butts in a responsible manner. Please see our house rules for further information in this regard.

Neighbours
There are 3 other Airbnb units on the property, each with their own entrance, privacy and facilities.

House rules reminder
A reminder that we have a strict "No parties" policy and we require no disruptive noise after 9pm.

Cleaning fee
The apartment is not cleaned daily. The cleaning fee in the booking charges is a one-time charge per booking for cleaning at the end of your stay. We subsidize the cleaning cost by 50%, as all in our cleaning team are paid a living wage. If you would like to have the apartment cleaned daily, please let us know and we'll organize a cleaner for you on the days you require.

Travel baby cot and baby car seat (newborn to 12 years old)
There is a travel baby cot available for use by guests, on a first book, first get basis. The baby car seat will attract a refundable security deposit upon it's return in the same condition that it was received in.

Caution for groups with children
Our apartment can accommodate children, however we offer a precautionary note to parents. We have had many children stay at the property, without incident. However, if you are a nervous parent or feel that your children are not able to be safe without constant supervision, you might NOT feel at ease with our property. There is one big staircases leading from the parking area to the front door of the apartment. There is a staircase inside the apartment. There are several large staircases leading to the pool and entertainment areas. With a property this size, it is not possible to baby-proof or kid-proof everything. Your children will need a degree of common sense and good instincts to be able to make use of the property.

Security: Cameras
Please note that we have security devices on the property, in the form of recording security cameras. This is disclosed in detail in our listing. We have a total of 8 cameras which monitor the street outside our property, the 3 driveways, the front garden and the communal pool patio area (however, the pool itself is not in the camera vision). We do check these cameras regularly for security purposes and to also check that unauthorized persons are not trespassing on the property. For obvious privacy reasons, there are no cameras inside the property.

Stay here if you are lucky enough

What can I say?? The place is EXACTLY how it appears in the ad photos . The view is remarkable from the living area and the master bedroom. Too cold to try the pool, so can;t review that. lol Weather was kind of against me this holiday. I can't say enough good things about this place. If you are lucky enough to get to stay here by all means, do it! Maike is just the absolute greatest host/liaison EVER!!!

Introducing Richard (53 yrs) & Shanna Heijberg (43 yrs). We look forward to being your hosts. We live between Cape Town and Johannesburg with homes in both cities. We are passionate about exploring this wonderful planet earth. Things we really enjoy are: Music, movies, animals, hiking, the mountains, the ocean, beach sand and swimming in the salty sea. Coffee and wine, good food, great friends, close family, fine dining, and of course, travelling.

Shanna grew up in Cape Town, in the Constantia winelands. Richard grew up in Rotterdam, Holland and moved to South African in his teenage years.

Life mottos: Do not go gentle into that good night. This too shall pass. Live and let live.

As people, we are a combination of easy-going and accommodating, but we will stand for what is important. We are peaceable persons, but warrior fighters for our cause. But what has that got to do with our hosting you? We're not sure, but maybe some of that will resonate with you and you'll feel more at home with us when you allow us to host you.

Our first property bought as a young married couple, we were drawn to the breath-taking, exceptional views of the Hout Bay valley enjoyed from every window. The house was very run down and neglected, and we spent several years renovating it into a large house that is divided into 4 separate apartments. We have permanent tenants in 3 of the apartments, and then offer the penthouse apartment for short term accommodation rental. We have owned the house for 16 years, and we have never tired of the position and views. We know you too will feel the same when you arrive and enjoy this exceptional space.

Awe-inspiring Llandudno Beach is a mere 800 meters from the house as the eagle flies, and from where you can observe the most spectacular sunsets and enjoy the most inspiring beach walks. Location and views are what drew us to this property.
