Fantastic home!

Great location, beautiful inside and out, and spacious for a big family! We had the best time at Brian’s home. It was beautiful! There were soo many neat features on the outside. We enjoyed the firepit and outdoor furniture, the cornhole game, hammock and horseshoes! The beds were comfy. Plenty of room for everyone. The location was ideal! We would 100% stay here again.

Horrible property

When we arrived, there was raw sewage in the master shower. An attempt was made to fix it, but it came back within 2 hours. We were made to stay in the unit overnight since there was nowhere for us to go. The next morning, the ceiling was leaking into the first floor. We left. It appeared the ceiling was going to collapse

Our Family stay at The Colonnades 201 Gulf Shores, AL

The home was just what we needed for the size of family we had. Well designed with great views and lots of attractions in the area. Would stay again in this unit. Loved it.

Mold

Upon arrival we noticed several issues with the unit. Patio furniture was broken, ice maker was broken, wine cooler was not working, and kitchen fauce constantly dripped. By the next day we realized that we had been drinking water from the refrigerator that was full of black mold!!!! Called to complain. A maintenance guy came in to assess, but did not fix anything. We are now 11 days from leaving the unit, and after calling 3 times, in an attempt to speak to the property manager, no one has returned my phone call. Very disappointed in the maintenance of the unit, but even more disappointing with the lack of communication. Zero stars!!!!

Beautiful but such a disappointment from the start

We have given Vacasa ample time (3 weeks) to get us a resolution, but yet no resolution… therefore the reason for the Bad rating. The condo itself was absolutely beautiful, I just wish it was that way when we arrived. From the moment we arrived, there was disappointment. We walked in, with our extended family in tow, to a very unclean home. There was, what we thought was sand ?, all over everything. That was because there was a leak upstairs the prior weeks before and nobody told us prior to arriving. Hence the “sand” was actually drywall dust from where all the repairs had been done. Upon going upstairs to the beautiful bedrooms, the beds were unmade. Like people got up out of them at checkout and left them for the cleaners. There were dirty towels in every bathroom. At that point, we contacted Vacasa. The cleaning crew arrived around 930 pm to clean. After this, we then realized there was no electricity in the master bedroom. This was needed for a CPAP machine amongst other things. We then had to drive to Walmart to get an extension cord to run from an outside bedroom. The next morning we contacted Vacasa again. They sent an electrician out that day. He fixed the plugs in the wall and we thought all was good. Later that night, the electric breaker kept flipping. Back to no power again. The electrician returned and found that there was water in the floor plug outlets. We were very thankful the whole place didn’t burn down or anyone get electrocuted. After this, the breaker still kept flipping and the only way to have power in the bedroom was to leave the outside porch light on. Also, on day 2, we put a load of beach towels in the washer then dryer. The dryer took 4 cycles to dry. We tried again with one more load. Same thing. The next load, the dryer stopped working altogether. We were unable to wash/dry anything the entire rest of the week. They did deliver a new dryer, after we checked out on Friday. This condo was beautiful. Very accessible beach. The deck and pool were soo convenient, especially for our older parents and the kids. All in all, if it weren’t for all of the issues, it would have been a great vacation. We originally booked through VRBO and the Vacasa was under them. We are still very disappointed to have no resolution from Vacasa. If you do book this condo, please double check that all of the issues have been resolved prior to pushing that confirm button. Colonnades 201

We stayed in this condo for 8 nights. This has been a yearly trip for us for the past 5 years, but our first stay at the Colonnades. This unit was large enough to accommodate 4 couples each with our own bathroom. The view from the main bedroom is very nice for now, but there is a large complex being built right next to the Colonnades which will really obstuct the view from this bedroom and completely obstuct the view from the other 3 bedrooms. This unit is right on the gulf but also on the pool deck level. The only patio for all of the guests is right off the pool deck. This made the patio have no privacy, very loud and even though signs are posted everywhere for no smoking, guests could sit right next to the condo's patio and smoke. Miss Angie, the security guard and overall bright spot of our stay did what she could to help. The condo has a gas stove so for us that was a plus. We also enjoyed the fact that it had a bar area with an ice maker and a wine refridgerator. The main refridgerators capacity was very small so if your planning to eat in you will want to bring a cooler. We were surprised that the kitchen had such high end appliances but had very few kitchen supplies such as plates, cups, drinking glasses (many had large chips or cracks in the glass) utensils, etc. No pot holders or kitchen towels. The unit as a whole was very dirty, and seemed as though it could use a deep clean. The bedrooms had accumulated piles of dust and dirt, and we found empty beer cans under the bed. There were no extra blankets or linens and some of the beds had very uncomfortable mattresses and no mattress pads. Bathrooms were missing lightbulbs or had the bulbs flickering. The WiFi had no password and was so bad that many areas of the condo had no internet service. The unit is large, spacious and it has a lot of potential, but it seemed as though the cleaning service forgot to come before we stayed. We always have a great time and will keep coming back to Gulf Shores, just not this unit.

Overall

If you come to stay at The Colonnades, 201 is the one to stay in. It is 2 story and the patio goes straight out to the pool deck. It is beautiful on the inside. We got to meet the rep for this home and she seems great. The home is very well taken care of. We will be back.

5 day stay Penthouse

Kitchen and common area was clean. Spacious great view. Master Bedroom sheets were dirty. Jacuzzi was dirty. Had brown grime after turning it on. Rude hospitality. Racist Maintenance guys continued to beat (not knock) but beat on my door. Then one came around to my patio with his key and tried to force entry into our place. Once I addressed him and asked what he needed. He then asked me if me and my daughter were the Cleaners as my babies were playing. I responded No, we booked a stay here. He then walked off.

Beautiful home!

The home lived up to the photos. It is beautiful! We had plenty of room for our family of adult kids to enjoy. The private entrance to the pool is very convenient, although we were disappointed that the pool was not heated and the hot tub was out of order during our stay. The beach access is also located by the pool so coming and going from home to the beach was easy. We very much enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again.
