Family Hearth & Paws Bungalow, fenced yard, EV

Comfortable sofas and beds, luxurious linens and towels, and thoughtful touches will help make your stay relaxing and memorable.

The home is a 10 minute walk to beautiful Lake Tomahawk, 1.2 miles to the shops and restaurants of quaint Black Mountain, and 20 minutes to downtown Asheville.

Kitchen, dinning and living area are open-concept with high vaulted ceilings for an airy feel.

There is an additional screened in seating area if you want to cozy up with a book in the fall breeze.

The main bedroom features a king bed, smart TV, and private bathroom with luxury shower. The additional two bedrooms both have queen beds with memory foam mattresses. One of the queen bedrooms has an additional smart TV. There is an additional bathroom with a bathtub/shower as well.

The spacious backyard has a privacy fence and lots of room for relaxing or play. Enjoy local brews and roasting marshmallows around your firepit after playing a few rounds of bocce on your private court (bocce set provided)! Cook some burgers on the new grill!

Renovated backyard shed contains a play and art space for kids or young at hear with coloring, board games, darts, bean bags, fairy lights and a multi-game table (mini pool, air hockey, etc).

We know traveling with young children can be an added stress. We are happy to provide a pack and play with an additional mattress insert for 1+ year olds, hiking carrier, high chair and toys. Please let us know of any needs at time of booking. Please note, the home is not child-proofed. Furniture is not secured to the walls, outlets do not have safety covers, etc.

While there are stairs to enter the home, everything else is on one level for you convenience and safety.

Pets are considered on a case by case basis. Our insurance does have some breed restrictions as well. There is an additional $75/pet.

Great place to stay. Location was great. Easy access to everything around Black Mountain and Asheville. The house was perfect for us. Extremely clean and had everything we needed. The host was easy to communicate with and made sure we had everything we needed. Overall a great place to stay if you are visiting this area. When we come back, I will definitely try to stay here again.

This was a great house for a small Thanksgiving gathering. Convenient to town, very comfortable, and a fun place for dog “cousins” to play in the yard. We tried to have a fire pit fire, but it was just too cold to stay outside. We would certainly return.

The house and property were perfect for our needs! We so appreciated the privacy fence to allow our athletic dog to roam and explore safely. The house and yard were comfortable and the location was highly convenient (just minutes from Black Mountain’s charming downtown and from parks and playgrounds for our young child). We would absolutely stay here again!

If I could give higher than a 5 star I would! Everything was perfect! We were very impressed with the home. It was just perfect for what we needed. Great backyard! And host was very responsive! We didn’t need anything but host was very proactive, checking in and very quick to respond. Loved our stay! I would definitely rent again!!!

Property matched the online description exactly! We were grateful for all the child friendly accommodations, they made our stay easy and enjoyable. Our kids loved the playhouse! Location was perfect, minutes away from Black Mountain, Ingles (local grocery store), and Montreat. Our only regret was not staying longer. We will definitely reserve this home again during our next trip to NC. Lastly, our host Jessica was incredibly responsive! Within minutes, day or night she was always available to answer questions. 10/10 recommend this property for your next stay!

This is a wonderful place. The host had everything available at the home for a great stay. It is in a nice neighborhood and convenient to everything. Getting to downtown Black Mountain was about a two or three-minute drive. The interior was clean, neat, and attractive, and the back yard is totally enclosed and expansive. Terrific vacation home.

Perfect getaway! The house was very clean and comfy. We had everything we needed plus perks like snacks and s’mores. It was quiet and cozy but close to everything in black mountain. The EV charger was extremely convenient, the kids play area was adorable, and a fenced in yard meant our pup was happy and safe.

Jessica was an excellent host with outstanding communication! The house is very cozy and was very clean! This house is convenient to everything in Black Mountain (only 5-6 minutes away from town!). If you have a dog, you and they will love this property! The back yard is fully fenced and huge! Our dogs were having a blast running and playing together! I highly recommend this VRBO!

Best yet in BMT

We've visited Black Mountain numerous times and this property was the best that we have stayed at. Everything was spotless and all of the little things you might need were provided - coffee, snack basket, q-tips, cotton balls etc, etc ... The fenced back yard was perfect for our dog, and it was a quick walk to Lake Tomahawk to get her some exercise. Would definitely stay there again.

Black Mountain Getaway

We had the best experience staying at this rental! The property was modern, impeccably clean, and had a wonderfully homey feel. Great stay in Black Mountain

Convenient, nicely laid out for a group of 4 + 2 dogs, everything we needed was there including coffee, snacks, shampoo, conditioner, body wash. Kitchen was well stocked with utensils and dinnerware, and dogs enjoyed the private back yard. I would most definitely book this place again!

Feels like Home

We loved our short weekend stay at the property. The bed linens, towels, and little things really made us feel just at home. The convenience of the location to all that we did was perfect. The neighborhood is a little trashy but the houses directly surrounding it are fine. This didn't impact our stay at all. We will definitely stay again!

Black Mountain in June 2024

The property is outstanding. Lots of perks including 3 TVs, a playhouse, grill, and firepit. We especially liked the screened in porch for the evening. The location was close to Lake Tomahawk and downtown Black Mountain. Our host was excellent. She responded quickly to any request (there were only two) and took care of them immediately. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone.

Great place for family vacation

Stayed here for spring break with our kids. Nice location super close to Black Mountain and not far from Montreat. Easy to get to I-40 when we wanted to drive to Asheville or other places nearby. Was very clean and had tons of extras we don’t always see in rental houses and usually have to bring or buy like a basket of snacks, kitchen supplies like dishwasher tabs and trash bags, all the laundry supplies we could need, soap dispensers, tissues, and games and kids toys. Back yard was great and kids loved playing back there on the swing and in the playhouse.

What a Treat

The house was just lovely as were the hosts that made sure we had a perfect stay! It had everything we needed, plus a few unexpected extras (kitchen items, games). Highly recommend!

Summer hiking trip

Everything was exactly as described online. There wasn’t anything we needed that the owners didn’t provide. We brought our dog who absolutely loved the fenced-in yard. Loved the town of Black Mountain. Great visit!
