This is an authentic Volkhaus Chalet, one of the first types on Beech Mountain. This cozy Swiss style chalet sits on a very private, quiet, and serene lot in an amazing location close to ski resort, Beach Mountain Club golf course, tennis, pool, and all the other amenities. The interior has been completely renovated with updated kitchen with table and bar setting. It also has a cozy living room with high ceilings and a stone fireplace as the centerpiece. The ceiling is a pine tongue and groove with a Swiss chalet decor. The house contains very high quality furniture and appliances. The kitchen in fully stocked with almost everything needed to cook large meals.
The Space
Living Room - Contains a fold-out sofa bed that can sleep up to 2. This room also contains Smart TV with Youtube TV, DVD player, movies. Living Room contains a card table, score board, over 50 games (Pictionary, Poker, 4 decks of cards, monopoly, Clue, 2 large puzzles, + about 30 more).
Master Bedroom - King Size Bed with Smart TV and en-suite full bath.
Guest Bedroom - King Size Bed with Smart TV and shared full bath.
Kitchen - Fully stocked with top of the line appliances; oven, range, microwave, Keurig coffee maker, Filter coffee maker, dishwasher, cookware, utensils, and flatware. There is bar seating for 4 and a table for 4.
Back Deck includes a wooded view, seasonal sunsets, Weber Gas Grill, smoker, and charcoal grill.
Front Deck includes table for 4 and additional seating with a great bird and deer watching views.

This house is in a great location only 1.5 miles to Beech Mountain Resort. The house offers optional Beech Mountain Club amenities including golf, tennis, pickle ball, pool, Ski Lodge, and fishing. There is an extra fee for the Beech Mountain Club amenities. There are many options for hiking and mountain biking as well.

The chalet features a back deck complete with gas grill and smoker. It boasts a wooded view that changes with the seasons. There are 2 decks; 1 large deck in the back and a second in the front with great bird watching views. There is all kids of wildlife in this area.

The house contains a flat parking area right off of Pine Ridge Rd and is easily accessible even in wintery conditions. However, it can be very optimal and encouraged to have AWD or 4x4 just to navigate around the Beech Mountain area if there is potential for a winter storm.

Great family vacation

Clean and a great location not far from Beech Mountain. This was our second time staying and we will be back next year. Games to play fully stocked kitchen had everything we needed.

Annual Christmas Tree Trip

We absolutely loved this property. Having a young child makes finding a suitable place a little difficult. Not having to traverse a lot of steps is always a plus. This house was super easy to get in and out of. No stairs inside the property was also a plus. Fireplace worked awesome. Other houses we have stayed at have always had issues with the smoke properly venting mainly because they needed the chimney swept. All appliances worked, and having a TV with streaming in every room was nice. It also snowed out last night there, and it was the first time our little one had ever seen it. He loved that, and we will always remember this trip. Owner was super responsive and even arranged for us to be able to check in early. We didn't take advantage of it because we ran a little late, but just the effort to accommodate us was outstanding. We will definitely try to stay here again.

Amazing experience on Beech Mountain

Me, my partner, and two friends of ours came to Beech Mountain for the Land of Oz event. We had no trouble finding the cabin or parking (though I would recommend some familiarity with driving on curvy roads - the ride up the mountain is a bit anxiety inducing). Upon arrival, we fell in love with the place! It matched the description perfectly, and it was so comfortable. Both bedrooms were furnished nicely and with the softest beds I’ve ever slept on in a rental. The porch and the view it offered was also unmatched. I also loved the size of the kitchen and how stocked it was with pans and utensils. We actually utilized the Food Lion down in Banner Elk to make a few meals, so those things made it much more easy. On Friday evening, the host reached out to us and asked if we’d like to stay another night for only $50 and we jumped at the opportunity. It was so nice to just relaxed and unwind in this gorgeous place. Land of Oz is a yearly tradition for us now, so we hope we’ll be able to stay in this Vrbo again next year!

Clean and easy stay for family of 4-6. Wood burning fireplace, 5 minutes from Beech mountain parking. Very comfortable place with newly updated kitchen n 2 full baths. Would stay again.

Not Quite Stay

Reports of a fresh dusting drew us to Beech for a last minute ski weekend. That fresh snow ended up causing travel delays for all parties, resulting in a delay in accessing the property. Shane was up front, kept us updated, and was willing to go the literal distance to ensure a great stay for us.

Great mountain vacation

Very happy with our stay the property was clean and had everything we needed. It was located very close to skiing and sledding we did not have to go far at all. We got lucky and had snow while we were there. Would definitely stay again.

Cozy Mountain Home

We had a wonderful stay! This house really made you feel at home. It had everything you could possible need to be able to cook at home. The kitchen was updated and very clean. The fireplace was very cozy and had plenty of wood ready to go. Our favorite part was the view and of course all the deer wandering around all day. Will definitely be back!

Weekend ski trip

My husband and l enjoyed this very comfortable and well appointed chalet while visiting Beech Mountain to ski for the day. The Chalet was located within a 5 minute drive to the ski resort and many restaurants. We enjoyed the private wooded view from the porch and even spotted some beautiful wildlife. We will definitely return here.

Great Chalet

We absolutely loved our stay. We hit a winter snow storm on the way up and were so relieved to land in a place that felt like home. There was plenty of everything and having great cookware and utensils was fantastic. It made it easy to prepare food for everyone, lots of games to play and the road was kept in great condition, driving back and forth to the resort was easy, even with fresh snow and ice on the ground. We really want to come back soon.

Cabin heaven love love

The property was well maintained with many amenities cleaning supplies. Deer in front and back come up to the porch. My grandkids were amazed. Easy to get to even with snow. They didn’t have as many games as advertised (maybe people took them. The kids played monopoly go fish with cards. A lot of adult games . The owner was very involved and answered quickly when I asked about roads closed, He talked to the police to assure me we would be able to get to the cabin, furniture very comfortable.I love the heated floors (the bathroom stayed warm)I would recommend it and would rent it again if I ever go there again. It was 3/4mile from my sons cabin and my husband and friends staying with us walked up and down and around the road for another 3/4 to come back steep inclines but the 4 yr old made it and was happy she did it and the adults were complaining. You won’t want for anything. My family loved it. Thank you

This property is very private and serene with peace and quiet. It is great for wild-life viewing. There are a lot of deer that frequent the property and are very tame. The house is very comfortable and cozy with very high quality furniture and appliances. This is a great space for a small family, 2 couples, or a small group of friends especially visiting the ski resorts or using Beech Mountain Club in the summer.
