Great stay

Great condo overall. Bed is wore out with hump in middle and one person has to climb in from foot of bed. Great view, beach access, pool, hot tub, beach service. Nice location close to everything you need and away from the traffic. Would stay there again.

Good condo in a great location

The location of this condo can not be beat. Steps to the beach and not above the pool which is a plus for me. Beach service is great! The bedroom is very small and the furniture configuration would make it difficult for anyone who can not climb over someone to get in/out of the bed or climb in/out from the foot of the bed. Had minor cleaning issues that were addressed by Vacasa. I would for sure stay at Pelican Isle again, possibly this unit, but I would consider others next time, too. The location alone is reason enough for me to come back. Good stay!

Good Condo in Great Location

The location can not be beat. Steps to the beach and beach service is included. This unit is located close to the end and near the walkway to the beach. It is not over the pool, which I appreciated. There was some issues with the cleaning, but Vacasa communicated with me regarding that. The layout of the bedroom is quite odd. It’s very small and the bed is pushed almost to the wall - can not walk between the wall and bed. The walkway between the foot of the bed and dresser is also very narrow. You either have to climb over to get in our climb up from foot of the bed. Only one small table on one side for phone. Kitchen well equipped and had everything we needed. Would for sure stay again at the Pelican Isle, but may look at a different unit with different layout. Great trip!

Not for a first time visitor

First time visiting this property and did not have a car. Lots of things you need to know to bring or order to have delivered so you are able to replace anything you use. Soap, toilet paper, paper towels, dishwasher detergent, sink sponge, etc. Smell was bad upon first arrival, plug in air fresheners would have helped a lot. One big let down was no beach towel. I stayed at another place up the beach that did provide these but I had to end up buying my own then squeezing them into my suitcase. No blankets for living room, no beach towels, no water from the fridge, high top chairs on patio are difficult to get up on, lower chairs would be nice, more hangers needed, no space to walk around bed, can barely put clothes in dresser bc bed is so big, no night stands, plugs are all linked to a switch so make sure to test the outlet before going to bed, 1 ply toilet paper, no coasters for cups that sweat a lot when they have ice in them, oven light doesn’t work. There was poop on the plunger handle, hair in the freezer, old mint leaves still inside sticky cups in cabinets, no cleaning supplies. Only benefits were the beach service, view and the weather.

Perfect stay!

This condo was very clean, perfect location and accommodated our family perfectly. The balcony view was beautiful. We saw dolphins every morning and evening. We will definitely stay here again. Okaloosa island is our new favorite Florida location.

46th Anniversary getaway

We've been to the Pelican Isle 2 other times and have always enjoyed our stay! When a new shower curtain was needed, management was very prompt at replacing it. A nice quiet beach with chairs and umbrella provided. Thank you

This unit made us sick!

The unit had an overpowering smell of a cleaner which covered the mold odor. My wife begin to feel sick after 2 weeks but we didn't know what it was til she developed vertigo in the 4th week. She gets that from ingesting mold. We had to leave early. The whole bedroom was damp, towels never dried in the bathroom, clothes left out became damp. After we got home we realized just how bad it was. Everything, shoes, bins, clothes, even plastic bags smelled terrible! Even the felt clothes hangers smelled. Washing didn't help. Clothes had to be soaked in vinegar and washed in borax to kill mold, twice, but that didn't remove the smell. Some of our clothes are still being stored in the garage. If you can imagine trying to clean and disinfect everything you took with you. It took a couple of weeks. Everything that could be had to be cleaned in a bleach solution. She took medicine for 2 weeks to kill the mold in her system. We've stayed in 4 other condos at Pelican Isle and other buildings on Okaloosa Island and never had problems like this with any of them. Also this unit had the master bath made larger which made the bedroom smaller. So small there was no room for night stands, barely enough room at the end of the bed to get through, and had to turn sideways to get into the bed on the window side. The bed was also too high. My wife is 5'5 and could not sit on it and had to use a step to get into bed. I could add more to the list, but I've covered the worst problems.

Relaxing

Great location, spacious, clean. Support text was very responsive - there was no closet door when I arrived, I reported it, t was handled the next day. There was however, a very strong smell from cleaner used before arrival. If you’re sensitive to this kind of thing, consider asking for an unscented or minimally scented cleaner.

Wow!!

Was way better than I anticipated. Love Okaloosa Island. Not as busy and commercialized as Destin or PCB. Condo was awesome!! Never got internet to work but also didn’t call about it. Loved having chairs/umbrellas on beach set up daily. ❤️
