La Fontaine is perfectly situated as the courtyard gets much sunlight throughout the day, yet because of the stone structure, the house does not overheat and stays cool during the warm summer period. Surrounded by vineyards, the picturesque village of Poilhes with its 500 inhabitants, is just the place to spend a calm, relaxing holiday. The Canal du Midi, which flows through the center of Poilhes, is located steps away from La Fontaine. This beautiful area is just 20 minutes from the long, sandy beaches of the Mediterranean and 30 minutes from the mountainous Haut Languedoc national park. There is a small shop and three restaurants in the town for your convenience.
