Gîte du canal du moulin, in the heart of the village of Arudy in the Ossau Valley

Béarn is an authentic region, proud of its history and its rich and varied territory. Mountains, lakes, gaves, picturesque villages, culture, gastronomy. You can practice hiking (there is something for all levels), skiing, fishing, canyoning, climbing at the Arudy school rock for example, rafting and even bungee jumping from the Germe bridge in Arudy, for the most daring!
Many activities are available to you, for all ages. For example, you can discover how our shepherds live in the mountains and taste the Ossau-Iraty sheep's cheese whose reputation is well established.
We listen to our holidaymakers and are always happy to welcome them, talk to them about our mill and our beautiful region. We will be able to give you ideas for visits, hikes and leisure activities in our beautiful Ossau valley and its surroundings, summer and winter.
We love hiking in the mountains and being from the region, we are committed to being proud ambassadors of Béarn!
The canal cottage is located in an authentic flour mill located on the canal of Arudy, a charming village in the Ossau valley, whose origin dates back to the fifteenth century, which we have completely renovated in recent years, so that our holidaymakers can enjoy all the modern comforts while staying in a historic house with character.

At the mill, you will spend a relaxing, quiet stay that will allow you to recharge your batteries while discovering a magnificent region. You will sleep in very comfortable beds. In winter we can even install heated mattress toppers for you, if you wish: it's so nice!

Type of rental: Completely renovated apartment with private garden of 300 m² along the canal on the entrance side of the cottage where we install garden furniture for 6 people on sunny days. At your disposal, we put a game of petanque and Molki that you can use in the courtyard.

On the 1st floor: Entrance, fully equipped open kitchen, bathroom (with shower + washbasin + WC + washing machine), bedroom with a 140 cm bed and heated mattress topper, so pleasant in winter!), lounge area + TV and the staircase leading to the first floor.PGJyPg
On the 2nd floor (attic space): Spacious loggia with office area, corner sofa convertible into 140 cm, a 32" TV + built-in DVD player, bedroom with a 140 cm double bed, bathroom (with shower + washbasin + toilet).
All beds have duvets, pillows and bolsters. Additional blankets are also available.
Private garden of 300 m²: On the edge of the canal at the back of the mill: complete garden furniture available. We also provide you with a game of pétanque and a game of Molki that you can use in the courtyard.
WIFI free throughout the house (fiber).

Heating of the apartment: Electric convectors (electricity not included). Billing is not included according to consumption. Price per kWh: €0.27.
Cleaning: Optional (flat rate €60).
Linen: Not provided (sheets and towels can be provided on request with an extra charge: please contact us).
Parking: Free on the street.
Non-smoking rental / Pets: not allowed in this cottage (however we accept them in the mill cottage).
Deposit to be given on arrival: 500 € (check or cash).

This cottage is independent of the neighboring mill cottage that we also own and that you will easily find on the platform as well. However, it can also be communicating to accommodate large groups with a total capacity of 12 people. Our 2 cottages have independent entrances nevertheless and are well insulated in terms of sound, the stone walls being very thick! We often have groups of friends or large families who book the 2 cottages for us at the same time, especially for holidays and they are always delighted with their stay in our mill.
