WATERFRONT! The Boat House is an 800sf private residence built directly over Lake Dora offering panoramic lakefront views. Located on Mount Dora's Famous Boat House Row, right in the heart of downtown Mount Dora, where you can roll out of bed and walk a few steps to one of the quaint coffee shops. The Boat House was once a tin boat shed with floors open to the water and housed two boats. Today, you will find warm, cozy furnishings, comfortable beds, a quiet location and sunsets every evening!

A wonderful unique stay!

The Boat House was a great stay. Very unique being over the water with a great view of Lake Dora. So convenient to walking into downtown for restaurants , boutique shops, etc. Would definitely recommend The Boat House!!

Great relaxing stay

Outstanding location, over the water with a short walk to downtown activities and restaurants. Enjoyed watching the amazing sunsets from elevated deck, many birds to observe and just kicking back for relaxing and enjoy tranquility. Natalie is a great host, and a joy to communicate. We will definitely try to stay here again.

Cozy Cottage

Visited in December for a long weekend. The cottage was adorable and we loved walking around to all the shops and restaurants while the Christmas lights were up. So glad we stayed here for our visit. Hope to return some day.

We had the most wonderful stay at this little magical boathouse. It was very clean, it was far better stocked than any other place that we have stayed. We absolutely loved staying at the Boat House!! It was adorable, quiet, beautiful and excellent location to the quaint town of Mt. Dora. It was all walkable from the Boat House. Sunsets from the raised deck were a memorable, gorgeous surprise. We will return!

Beautiful, peaceful property

What a jewel we found in the Boathouse! Loved reading the history of the transformation from boathouse to an adorable cottage. Wake up to waterbirds chattering and pink skies at sunup. Very short walk to all the beautiful Christmas lights, shops and restaurants of Mt. Dora. Whenever we return, it will be for the Boathouse!!

Waterfront bungalow

I loved this place. It was rustic but charming. I would stay again. It is ideal for a couple, as not having any bedrooms creates a lack of privacy. But perfect for a couple and small kids. I will be back to this one. The walk to everything was amazing.

Absolutely perfect for a couples getaway. Location was beyond fabulous. House located directly on the lake and walking distance to town. The view was spectacular. No place like it!!

What a unique accommodation! What a lovely, enchanting town Mt. Dora is! Staying in a boathouse that is literally ON the water was fun AND relaxing. Mt. Dora was within a short stroll from the boathouse. Upscale (not "tourist type") shopping. A broad range of cuisine. We loved the boat tour of the canal on the lake and our Palm Island Park walk along the boardwalk and trails was beautiful! Clean. Well-stocked. A host that will bend over backwards to make your stay perfect. Don't miss out...reserve the Boat House!

A Happy Place

This boat house is a hidden gem! The one large room cottage had everything we needed and more. The screened in porch on the water was where we relaxed and enjoyed the open water views, Lake Dora is a very large lake on the Harris chain of lakes where you can take a tour from a local vendor if you like. We parked our vehicle under the carport and walked to town for meals and shopping, this boat house is in a prime location. We spent two nights celebrating our anniversary and couldn’t have picked a better place which was just a little over an hour from our home but was the perfect getaway place, thanks for the bottle of wine, we enjoyed it on your porch.

Wonderful 3 night anniversary trip

Wife and I loved the cabin on the lake. We spent the first two nights celebrating our wedding anniversary then welcomed our best friends for the last night, showing them the town and scenery of these beautiful lakes. The property was just as advertised and was very comfortable, even with the extra two on final night. Highly recommend.

Unique, beautiful and chill

What a wonderful vacation rental! Relaxing, gorgeous views of the lake and has everything you might need. Easy walk into town where there are plenty of great shops and restaurants. Only thing I could not find was the crowbar I needed to pry my husband off the lakefront deck when it was time to leave. Perfect for a couples retreat. I hope to stay again soon.

Was a GREAT place ON ( over) the lake thanks for letting dogs come we had our 7 year old poodle. has was FANTASTIC. and downtown mount dora is great too we came over from Vero Beach and will be back. have been to mount dora many times been in Vero Beach 48 years. the "boat house " was fvie star

Incredible piece of heaven

My husband and I have stayed at many VRBO homes in our beautiful country. We have family in Eustis and a couple of years ago I reserved a place on the lake for my husband and myselt because we love being near the water. My son and fiance stayed a Lakeside Inn. Very convenient! Mt Dora is the sweetest, quaint town, but staying on Lake Road at a boat house on Lake Dora is as special and as relaxing as it gets. I had looked at "The Boathouse On Lake Dora" many times and it was always booked when I needed it. It makes me hesitant to give a 5 star review because it might end up even more booked when I'm ready to go back, but I must. The pictures of the cottage don't do it justice. It exceeded our expectations. Everything you need is in attended to. The cottage, the lake, the very short walk to downtown Mt Dora (.3 miles to Pisces Rising Restaurant) is an added plus. We live 100 miles away and will be back soon. Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your very special cottage. And PS love the neighbor's kitty reception. Just adds to the ambience.
