We came to oak island for the first time over Thanksgiving The island breeze home that we rented was a disappointment !! I rarely write reviews but I felt compelled to here in hopes it helps future renters trying to enjoy this beautiful island.I requested early check in. I was told as long as no one was occupying the residence prior to my arrival it would be fine.Two days before I was to check in I got a call from the company saying if I wanted to check in early I would need to pay an additional 112.00 !!! We didn’t have much of a choice at that point so I paid the fee.Once we arrived we immediately noticed the the hot tub was empty.We specifically booked island breeze because it had a hot tub and were never told that it was not functioningAfter several calls the company told me that unfortunately the owner is getting rid of the hot tub…We also learned the the owner currently has island breeze on the market and is trying to sell while renting.Additionally both the front and back Outdoor furniture was filthy and unusableMoving to the inside added to the the frustration.The blinds are missing the pieces that you use to open and close them.The furniture is sparse and not very comfortableThe tv in the bedroom did not work. that particular tv required that you are connected to a cable box or router. Since the room didn’t have a router or a connection/outlet for cable/cat5 the tv was rendered useless to us.
