Restored 300yr Old Arab Traders Mansion sited around shady courtyard in Lamu Old Town over looking the waterfront. Accommodation offered on B&B basis or whole house rental available on occassions. The property is tastefully furnished with antiques and artworks.
The space
Beautifully restored property with all traditional features. There is a shaded courtyard garden and terrace on which to take breakfast. There are a number of roof terraces to enjoy exploit the breezes and enjoy views across town and over the activities of the waterfront.
Guest access
Courtyard garden, Lounge areas to upper levels and roof terraces. If you rent the master bedroom - small suppliment - private terrace and starbath/pool. Please be advised the kitchen and store rooms are the house staffs domain, not yours - your breakfast will be served to you on the Garden terrace.
Other things to note
The House is also on ocassions available for whole house rental with staff if required, with adequate advance notice. Normally we only take room bookings.

Samaki House is a great historic place, to enjoy the real ambiance and day to day life of Lamutown its unique setting. It's a beautifully restored private house, offering a spacious secure living environment with its courtyard garden and it's multiple roof terraces to hang out on and watch both daily life and fantastic sunsets from. We love it because ts authentic theres donkeys in the naroow pedestrian streets below us and the call to prayer from the Mosque accents the pace of the day. All facilities are in immediate proximity , restaurats, shops, craft places, the market and the slow but busy enough waterfront. It all has its own magic we fell in love with it at first sight... much as you do with Lamu itself .
