THE PEFECT CHALET

This chalet has a view of Peak 7 and has Colorado Room which provides for extra living space during your stay. This chalet has one bedroom, kitchen, bath, living room and a loft for sleeping. We have a gas BBQ grills and a deck with outdoor seating. Generally, the chalets can sleep four (4) adults comfortably with the use of the Master Bedroom and the loft which has two queen beds. Each chalet is stocked with kitchen utensils and linens. Check-out is at 11am. Smoking is prohibited in the chalets. I do allow pets as long as you clean up after them. They must remain on a leash while on the resort grounds.

Cons: Heater didn’t work (it was a very cold first night). Oven/stove didn’t work. No batteries in the remote. Game room photos were not accurate (game room is now an arcade more focused towards kids, which worked for us but would not be good for adults only). Did not see a carbon monoxide sensor so after being provided space heaters on our second night, we were a little wary about using them while sleeping. The lights in the bathroom are just sitting on top of the cabinet so hopefully they never get hot and catch on fire. Pros: check in was very easy and we were able to drop our bags and go to the pool before the cleaners were done. The cleaners did an excellent job. The beds were comfortable and, although the place needs some upkeep, we were happy with the space. The internet was quick. The location is great with the pool, game room, sand volleyball, and tennis/pickleball courts. There was a toaster oven/air fryer for us to use when the stove/oven wouldn’t turn on. The owner also said we could cook in the owner’s lounge in the clubhouse but we didn’t do that as it was a relatively big inconvenience. The owner was very responsive to our issues, but should fix the closet door handle so she doesn’t need to tell the next guests to pry it open with a butter knife if they need to get to the space heaters. Closet seemed locked but doorknob was just broken. It looks like the last few reviewers also couldn’t use the oven. 2/10 1st night rating, 7/10 2nd night with heat.

Well where do we start. I will keep this brief but this was not what was expected. Started by not being able to get into the property gate as I had the wrong code, we followed someone else in to get to the property. The property was unlocked when we got there. The lockbox code was not what was not correct as well. Walked in and here is what I found- trash left by the previous guest by the trash can, beds looked like they were kind of made but not really, no towels in the bathroom. I started to wonder if this place was not cleaned before I got there. After about 2 hours of no response from the owner she said the cleaners did not get there to clean. Stuff happens I get it no problem, I am willing to change some sheets and move on. She said there was sheets in the bedroom. No sheets, so she said to look in the shed. Looked in the shed and I found weeks of used sheets and bedding from previous guests. I asked for a refund as we didn’t want to stay in a place that didn’t have clean sheets and did not have a single towel for anyone to shower with. I gave her a week to make this right but I have not had a response or a refund. Place has potential but needs some love. Back deck and patio were very dirty and not taken care of. I would not recommend this place based on the response from the owner and not knowing what is really going on there. Also I had concerns about lights really close to the beds and lights in the bathroom that were resting on the cabinet. Photos when arrived

Kim Attea was easy to work with. The location itself was very nice and quiet. It’s to bad that Chalet had so many issues. The front deck wasn’t picked up. The back deck was worse. Inside, the coffee maker didn’t work. The microwave fan and light didn’t work. The gas stove would not light. The bathroom light were hanging down and not working. There were no towels anywhere. We were asked to go to Walmart and buy some towels would be reimbursed. The sleeping areas were very comfortable. Deadbolt locks were difficult to work. I did my best to make adjustments on the doors as they were miss aligned. Sorry about all the complications.

Central Heaven

Very cozy and incredibly well designed lodging that despite its small size is very comfortable and provides privacy with a sitting area, loft with two queen mattresses and a private bedroom. We will definitely be back!

Nightmare Stay: Forgotten Booking, Non-Functional Home, and Refund Runaround

After being completely forgotten by the host and encountering a property with no functioning plumbing, I feel compelled to share my experience to warn potential guests.The Check-in DisasterUpon arrival in Breckenridge, we discovered no key in the lockbox. Multiple calls to the host went unanswered for nearly two hours while we waited anxiously in town. Only after VRBO support suggested we document the situation did the host finally respond, admitting she had forgotten our booking entirely. The home had plumbing issues, with a plumber having left the property in an unusable state.Unacceptable AccommodationsDespite the host offering a refund, we reluctantly stayed one night due to the late hour and mountain road conditions. The property was clearly unprepared for guests:* No gas for the stove* No matches or lighters for the numerous candles* No Wi-Fi access* No instructions for operating any equipment* Incomplete board games* Damaged window screens throughout (one window missing a screen entirely)* Expired food and partially used, unrefrigerated items in cupboards* Outdated local magazines (several years old)* Overloaded electrical system - space heaters tripped breakers leaving us without heat by morning (in January in Breckenridge!)
The Refund NightmareOur stay ended January 27th, and despite the host's promise of a full refund, I'm still fighting for resolution over five weeks later

The shower did not work and the fridge was leaking on my food. It ruined my food. Part of the wood paneling fell off onto my child when he was sleeping in a bed. It had nails sticking out. The host offered us a $50 discount but I would be happy with a bigger discount. The change was dishsuting and had dirt everywhere. The dishes they provided were dirty. The house also smelled like cigarette smoke when we arrived and the host suggested light some candles to cover up the smell. It was gross and not what was advertised. The community pool was smelly and cloudy.

My trip was ruined. First few days off in over a year. Was looking so forward to some relaxation and quiet which did not happen. I was called hours before leaving Boulder to inform me off some issues with the unit. The shower and overall heat. Because of all the planning etc., I went thinking I could use the space heaters as I was told. I tried to warm the place up but, two heaters didn't make a dent in how cold it was. Later that night, the power went out in most of the unit. Now it was dark and freezing. The whir of the two space heaters all night, and how cold it was made it impossible to sleep. I didn't want to go to another building to get a warm shower either. I sat in my ski clothes all night sitting as close as I could to the two space heaters. The giant TV in the main area is WAY to big for the space and sits super crooked. Even if it worked, I wouldn't have wanted to watch it considering how crooked it was. I short, had no heat, a couple lights, no shower. The time and money I spent taking off work, changing my work schedule at three jobs, renting a car, packing made me go home. I was too tired to ski as planned because I literally didn't sleep 2 minutes. I left a message and was told I would be reimbursed which I have not been notified of as of 2-13 I know things happen but, the issues ruined my only vacation for the year. I hope to see the full refund without delay. Thank you

Red Flags.. Fraud.. Steals your Money

Booked Christmas Eve and Christmas. Arrived and place was dirty, dishes in sink, beds not made, etc. Home owner had house cleaned then advised us the only toilet did not work. We have 2 kids with us too. Booked a room at a nearby hotel. I was advised I would be refunded. To this day, no refund. We have been more than nice and patient with the whole situation until now.

Cute Chalet - Terrible Stay

Property is poorly managed and not maintained. Kim only communicated via her personal cell phone and wouldn't use the VRBO app. Property had limited water use including toilet, shower and sink due to a frozen drain pipe but we were able to use the common area facilities which had showers and toilets. Because of the water issues, Kim offered a full refund so we stayed. In the home we found there was no internet, it was not even connected with a router, which also meant no tv. We reached out to Kim, but she never responded. The driveway was full of snow and ice even though all other driveways in the complex were clear. We had trouble getting out the short driveway in our 4WD truck. The path to the house was not shoveled and was icy and narrow. The patio door was frozen open. Inside there were stains on the sheets and we found dirty clothes under the bed. A few outlets did not seem safe. The bathroom was gross but we didn't use it bc of water issue. Because Kim communicated via her personal cell and not on the vrbo app VRBO offered no assistance for finding a new place and didn't help when Kim did not provide the refund as promised. Advice - all communication should be on VRBO app. We still have not been refunded. The property is very cute in a campground complex that has many permanent cabins like hers. The common amenities are quite nice with a pool, hot tub, and game room. The location is fantastic just five minutes from Breckenridge skiing and town. It is unfortunate it i

Short stay

We made it late to our Chalet because of car problems and immediately was sad that we didn’t get to stay longer. It was easy to access and find. The Chalet was cute, clean and comfortable. We are definitely coming back as soon as possible.

What needs addressing

To the owner, since there is little signage, perhaps better directions inside the resort especially for nights. Fridge needs attention, there is a leak inside the fridge. Main bed not comfortable, should be replaced. Overall good stay, resort gorgeous and safe. Thanks for allowing our 2 small doggies. Lots of walking spaces and relieving areas and bags. Thank you. Overall the place is charming and had everything we needed for a two night stay.

Rocky Mountain Escape

Property could use a little TLC -especially the outside patio. But I had everything I needed. Loved the large TV & comfy chair & couch in the living area! The resort is fabulous & people were friendly & helpful.

Needs help

Lots of good- couch and chair great large TV Dining chair/table perfect New sheets/ blanket in master bedroom The bathroom was dirty floor was awful needs to be replaced. Shower was leaking we wrapped a towel around the shower head No glassware in the kitchen, a couple of castoff glasses. It needs a very deep cleaning. Someone tried to upgrade the unit. Very amateur work Great place if it has some TLC

Enjoyable stay, had everything we needed for a short getaway. Property could use some maintenance and love to improve general appeal. The pic displayed was not the unit that we were assigned to, so that part was a bit disappointing. We were quite close to other units on either side. The grounds were well kept and had a pool, game room and "dog park."

Getting Out of the Heat

I came to the area to leave the Phoenix heat and enjoy the great weather. I did! The location is great. The place is a little dated and the bathroom is small, but it worked for me and my dogs. There was a little bit of a hiccup checking in because I had the old code, but the host responded quickly and all else went well.

Great location and small improvements could go a long way

Pros- Location! Prompt communication! Rec center! Attentive owner! Dog friendly! People friendly! Cons- for this OCD mother, not well cleaned (stains on towels, dirty floors/pet hair, under furniture, corners, dishes, appliances, walls, coffeemaker full of old grounds, etc) Small, expected conveniences fell flat (half empty/old shampoos/soaps, seasonings empty/outdated) Doors need repair (weak lock sliding door, deadbolt broken, ill-fitting door to frame) Overall, small changes/minimal investment could really go a long way for such a beautiful location and outstanding amenities!

Very run down and dirty

We were very disappointed with this property. Though the kitchen and toilet were clean, the rest of the property was incredibly run down and dirty. We found multiple spiders in the corners, broken and unfinished tiling everywhere, broken glass in the driveway, loose trash by the side of the house, unsafe items stashed in cabinets. The patio hadn't been swept or dusted in several months. There was horrible mold all over the patio umbrella. The sheets had pet hair in them. I called the owner when we first arrived and was told she cleaned it herself (but I believe she should have hired this out to professionals). We only stayed one night. The owner offered to have someone come over in the morning to do additional cleaning, but there were too many issues. It needed some major repair and a really deep clean. Though we only stayed one night, the owner was not willing to refund any of our 5 night stay and acted as though she couldn't do anything for us. Very disappointing.
