In the summer months you will be surrounded by wildlife and beautiful scenery with abundant walks along the picturesque river Colmont. The house sleeps 6 in 3 upstairs bedrooms, 2 double and one twin, along with a shower room with shower, basin & toilet. There is an additional separate toilet downstairs. There is a large lounge/kitchen with a log burner, 3 good size comfortable sofas (one of which is a double sofa bed). There is also a pop-up cot, baby monitor and highchair. The kitchen is well equipped with a range cooker, microwave and fridge/freezer and access to a washing machine. Outside you will find a large above ground pool. ( available May - September) in the cherry tree orchard, along with a BBQ, outside kitchen and a covered veranda with seating area . Sun loungers are provided along with a variety of outdoor games and bicycles. Although we have no pets of our own we welcome yours who are free to run around in the secure gardens. To get the holiday started a welcome pack awaits you. All towels & bedding are included. All amenities are included (summer bookings only) as are the initial logs for the cosy large wood burner. End of stay cleaning can be provided – ask us for details. As is usual there will be a security deposit to pay, refunded on departure minus any cleaning.
There is an abundance of local restaurants and bars serving quality food from around the world but sourced locally (including Sunday roasts). The local village (Brece) is 3km away (or 2 through the country walk along the river Colmont) with a Boulangerie. 2km further is Gorron with supermarket, butchers, bars and shops. Locally there is the beautiful town of Mayenne with a castle, ancient church, river and shopping facilities (Aldi/Lidl/Hyper U/Leclerc). Pontmain has a fabulous “Blue” sacred church, St Fraimbault, a beautiful award winning village (16km) has a lovely lake, with walks and woods crazy golf & picnic area. St Hilaire de Harcourt is about 30 km away with its Wednesday market, beautiful lake with walks, cafes, bars, shops and supermarkets
The World Heritage site of Mont St Michel; the new British Normandy Memorial, the D-Day Landing beaches and War Cemetries are approximately an hour away. St Malo with its fabulous enclosed castle, with individual shops, along with France`s coast on the English Channel (La Manche), make a full day out.The Bayeaux tapestry is approx 2 hours away but is a must see,. Another day out for shoppers is Fougeres only 40 minutes away, along with its castle, the largest intact medieval one in Europe, moat, working mill and café are well worth a walk, and don’t forget to include leisure facilities at the forest on the outskirts. Flers is 45 min away with its chateau and lovely gardens, cafes and shops
Falaise (1hr 30min) is the site of William the Conqueror's castle, has peaceful walks around it especially the lake walk & a Saturday market. Bagnoles de L'Orne is a wonderful day out, where you can sit by the lake with an ice cream and watch the day go by. At Espace Louis Derbre, near Ernee, there is a sculpture museum.
For country walks try 'voie verte' along the old railway lines @ Barenton, Also Fosse Arthour at Georges De Rouelly, with woodlands lake walks and rock climbing.

Calais and the Eurotunnel are 4-5 hours away. Dinard & Rennes are the nearest airports both being approx 90 minutes away (we do offer a pick & drop service at an additional charge if required)
