The Gorges du Verdon is a natural wonder located in Provence, France, on the border of the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence and Var departments. Often called the "Grand Canyon of Europe," this spectacular site was carved by the Verdon River over millennia.

   

A Grand and Unique Landscape  

Europe's Largest Canyon: With limestone cliffs reaching up to 700 meters deep, the Gorges stretch for 25 kilometers. The canyon offers breathtaking panoramic views, with the Verdon River winding below in an emerald-blue-green color. The Lakes: As the river exits the canyon, it forms several large lakes, including the famous Lake of Sainte-Croix and Lake of Esparron-de-Verdon. These turquoise bodies of water are perfect for swimming and water activities. Scenic Drives: To admire the scale of the area, several roads run along the Gorges, offering spectacular viewpoints.
