The Ommertalhof, with its gardens renowned far beyond the region, is located in the heart of the Bergisches Wanderland.
This historic farmstead, parts of which date back to the 18th century, stands in a secluded location and is surrounded by forests, meadows, and pastures.
A vast, well-marked hiking area begins right at the farm. There are few busy roads here; instead, you’ll find quiet valleys and magnificent views of the hills and valleys of the Bergisches Land near Cologne.
In addition to our garden, other recreational options include various golf courses, the K2 climbing forest, the Bergisches Open-Air Museum, the quarries in Lindlar, the Engelskirchen Industrial Museum, the Mediterrana Refrath sauna complex, Altenberg Cathedral, stalactite caves, and, of course, the cathedral city of Cologne.
All attractions are within a 35-minute drive.
A very special time begins in mid-March. Just in time for the daffodils to bloom, our lambs are born. It’s exhausting every year, but absolutely beautiful.
The “Vintage” apartment is 60 m² and is divided into a living/sleeping area, a kitchen/dining room, and a bathroom. A comfortable sofa and two reading chairs invite you to enjoy a cozy evening watching TV or reading.
The rooms are designed for two people.
You’ll find a fully equipped kitchen, stylish seating, a bathroom stocked with towels, and a comfortable 160-cm bed.
Of course, a 42-inch TV with a Blu-ray player and Wi-Fi are available.
In front of the apartment is a balcony overlooking the Ommertal valley, nestled within the Tuscan-style garden.
The front door is accessible via a wooden staircase.
The apartment was built in the old cowshed using historic materials (such as old attic planks for the kitchen cabinet fronts) and natural materials (clay plaster).
Lovingly handcrafted or restored furniture completes the ambiance.
Unfortunately, the antique stove cannot be used at this time
The garden and courtyard have already been featured in over 20 gardening and home decor magazines.
In addition, the ARD has filmed numerous gardening documentaries here.
Take a look at the attached photos—they’re worth a thousand words.
Best regards from the Ommertalhof
