“This Fitz” is a studio apartment conveniently located on the south side of Tar Bay
within 5 miles of Georgetown and the international airport. The secluded and beautifully
landscaped property offers a private pathway to Tar Bay with a deck and stairs to the
beach (displayed in the pictures), where you can walk for miles and enjoy the crystal
clear water and soft sandy beaches or just plain kick back and relax in a beach
chair. The apartment can comfortably accommodate a couple ( 2 people ) and is
conveniently located near shopping and Elizabeth Harbor where you can enjoy
activities on Stocking Island via water taxi or boat rental. Car rentals are available if you
would like to explore the Exuma’s from Barre Tarre to Little Exuma, but arrangements
should be made well in advance and make sure, when driving , you stay on the left
side of the road.

The hosts were super friendly and great communicators. The property/grounds are nicely kept and the house is secluded from the roadway. The house comfortably accommodates a couple and having the fully stocked kitchen is a great plus. There are so many beautiful beaches to see ! Highly recommend this house.

Relaxing by the Sea

Wonderful studio apartment to relax and forget the daily routine. The residence was exactly as described by owner. Stayed for 6 nights and had the beach to ourselves each day. Water was lovely. Location was conveniently halfway on the island, not far from groceries and town. Owner had many nice touches (hammock, beach chairs, water cooler, nice landscape, gas grill, etc.) making the stay very easy. Recommend for a single person or couple.

Fantastic stay!

The property is fantastic. Well located with a private walking tray to a gorgeous beach. It’s also well equipped and hosts are very nice and responsive.

This Fitz - Fits Us !

We had a such Great Stay in a Great Location with a nice walk to the beautiful beach on Tarbay ! The beach is amazing and very quiet. This studio was perfect for us and with everything necessary for a very comfortable stay. We plan to be back sooner than later ! Thank You, Janet & Paul

Perfect spot!

Janet & Paul’s place was exactly as stated. The setting was beautiful and perfectly placed for traveling to upper Exuma and lower Exuma. Although not on the beach there is a path to cross over to a beach but we move a lot so we saw lots of beaches. Janet & Paul were friendly and helpful, very welcoming. We loved staying here and would recommend it for a couple Thank you

Janet and Paul are very kind. They made their best to host us : great communication ! There is everything to cook. You have also all you 'eed to go to the beach. And it is very quiet. Excellent location to visit the north or the south of Exuma, close to the airport and close to George town

Loved our stay on beautiful Exuma!

We had a great stay. The property was well equipped and comfortable. The path to the beach was nicely landscaped and took approximately 3-4 minutes to get to the beach. Janet and Paul were very receptive and easy to get in touch with. Centrally located to reach both ends of the island easily by car.

Great Beach Vacation

Our stay at This Fitz was awesome. This unit was equipped with everything you needed for the week for the beach, for cooking and staying at the studio. The unit was a single level, with owners above the unit you stay in. There was a five gallon water dispenser for drinking water, ice cube trays for ice, cooler for cold drinks at the beach, chairs for the beach, etc. This unit was centrally located on the island with easy access to groceries, alcohol or whatever else your heart desires. The beach was never crowded and often we were the only people on the beach for it's two miles of length.The owners or hosts were super nice and took care of any needs, which we had few of. This unit was very reasonably priced for two or three people. I recommend taking skin so soft or deet bug spray for the beach or ouutside around duskunit for twfew of.miles.locatedcoolTheer

Great little get away

The place was great for a couple. Had everything we needed to be comfortable. The hosts Janet & Paul were fanastic and really easy to work with, i was able to get ahold of them when needed. The outdoor shower and private walkway to the beach were great. The photo of the beach is slightly misleading, as i thought the property was actually on the beach but is in fact a very short walk from the beach - no views of the beach from the home. Turned out to be a non issue as everything else was so wonderful and the short walk was actually rather nice. The location of the house is centrally located on the island which made traveking around easierOverall great place, great hosts, and if we were to visit exuma again we would certainly love to stay here again!Thank you!

Great!

Wonderful host and great property, has everything you need for a short term stay. The only (minor) caveat is the property can be tricky to find at night time if you arrive late in the afternoon/evening. Google Maps "This Fitz" would help you find it easier.

Love This Fitz!

We had an incredible stay, enjoyed everything about your place. We cooked most meals at home, you guys had everything we needed to cook and the grill out back was perfect for bbqing and heating up our pizza. Most evenings, we walked the path over to the beach. Was quiet and so beautiful. Thanks again for having us, having the water container was a great idea.

Wonderful!

We really enjoyed our stay and so happy we picked this rental! Janet and Paul are great hosts and so friendly. The studio was perfect size for us, very clean, and it’s in a great centralized location. The outdoor shower was great for washing off sand after returning from the beach. Tar Bay beach is just a short 3 minute walk along their path. We would definitely stay here again!

Great rental and a good value

Nicely updated apartment, really a one bedroom without the wall. Comfortable bed and sectional, good mid-island location just above George Town. Equipped with everything you’d need. Very good value for Exuma

Amazing stay in paradise!

Amazing place with all you may need! We enjoy the kitchen area, bbq and beach chairs! For us, it was the perfect location! Near everything but far enough to be quiet and peaceful. We really enjoy the beach as we were alone on it all week! It s only 2-3 min walk so it is perfect. The hosts were quick to response to all the questions we had! Check in and check out was easy!

AMAZING!!!

This property did not disappoint. Very clean studio. Lots of room. Owner left chairs, umbrella and beach toys. There is a 5 minute walk to the beach on a well marked trail. Only downside was a huge banana spider that decided to make its web across the trail. Yikes!! We just ducked under and kept going. There are also quite a few anoles that scurry around the yard and porch area. Delightful to watch. Definitely would rent again.

Great 7 day stay

This Fitz was just as described in the posting. The owners weren't there during our stay so didn't get to meet them but they were very timely for any questions or needs. This was our first time to Exuma and we felt like it was the perfect location to explore the entire island. Felt very private and secluded but directly off the main highway. Perfect for a couple traveling. The beach chairs were much appreciated. We walked the trail out to the beach a couple of times as well and it's maybe a 3 min walk. Would definitely stay here again!

Perfect home steps away from the beach

This vacation home was perfect for us. Safe, quiet, cozy, and clean. It was well equipped with all of our needs. Just a short walk through the pathway to the beach. Just keep a lookout for spiderwebs, and you can easily avoid them. Tar bay was one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. You have much peace and quiet there, as well as privacy. We had a warm welcome and was easily accommodated for any of our needs. The location was right in the middle of everywhere we wanted to go. Be sure to rent a car so that you can see everything. We highly recommend this to everyone and hope to be back some day. Thank you Paul and Janet! It was a pleasure to meet you and maybe we will catch you back in nj. Well wishes from Lauren and Dinos!

Really a home away from home

This place was beautiful and relaxing to say the least. The hosts were very helpful, considering I asked them lots of questions, and they always had a kind response. When we stayed here, we didn’t have anyone else staying in the other units, so it was very private. We were even lucky enough to see a meteor shower. This place is close enough to the beach that you can hear the waves crashing, but not so close you have people walking nearby constantly. Crossing the road proved to be fairly easy most of the time so don’t fret about that if you’re considering this property. There’s a market nearby and a few restaurants, so no worries about finding something to do other than beach combing. Our favorite beach was Coco plum beach, although it also had the most people there so be warned of that. One thing no one ever talks about on your beach vacations, especially more remote beach vacations, is the sand fleas. I highly recommend packing bug spray and using it every single day you go to a more remote beach, such as tropic of cancer beach. Also, if you drink, I can’t recommend Exuma rum bags enough. They’re delicious and affordable, even more so than beer. Power did occasionally go out on us, but never longer than an hour or so. Thank you guys for hosting us, we had such a good time.

Island of Discoveries

This location was great , close to Georgetown but far enough away from the hustle and bustle. Close to groceries and restaurants. The unit is well equipped, and the owners are very hospitable and helpful. Rent a vehicle so you can discover all the breathtaking waters of the different beaches. The beach chairs supplied were a great asset. Hopefully we will be back soon!

An amazing time in paradise.

The two of us stayed on the property from August 18, 2023, departing September 1, 2023. We loved the outdoor shower it is perfect because the sand is so fine at the beach. It really sticks to your skin. It’s hard to just brush off. The stove, oven, refrigerator, freezer, microwave, toaster and coffee pot. All worked perfectly. The path to the beach is perfect and we didn’t find the highway busy at all. We had a rental car and spent most of our time touring the island going to all of the beaches. We did two half-day excursions to go, snorkeling see the The pigs, and there were little baby piggies. They were also stingrays that work to feed Across, but you could hold in your arms. They are very used to people. Baby pigs were only a couple of months old. We also went to an island and saw iguanas. The staff on the excursion were amazing. They provided all the food and everything you need if you don’t have your own snorkels and fins. If you do a full day excursion, you can swim with sharks, but because we were there for two weeks, we didn’t wanna overdo it in the sun, so we’re pretty careful each day, even though we came back with great tans. We spent one day on stocking Island, and walked over to where homes and sell boats are kept. No one was on that side and it was only a five minute walk. My husband snuggled, and I just relaxed on the beach. This Fitz it’s really easy to find an access even at night. Would definitely stay again!

We have been going to Exuma since the 1980’s. Our brother built the round house on TarBay and we loved going to visit him. He then sold that house and bought Seascape also on TarBay. As we were planning our retirement and having property on both sides of Queen’s Highway he sold us the property with a 10 foot right away to the beach which enabled us to build the deck and stairs to the beach. We built our retirement winter home and enjoy all the wonderful people we have met over the years.
