With the family, the beach is mandatory, Let's start with Mèze beach which is 10 minutes away with parking, sand and hot water from the bottom of the sea (Thau pond) and its port with entertainment and restaurants of all kinds to taste the local mussels and oysters. There is everything to take away and enjoy on the balcony. Don't forget the white wine, at worst the neighbor is a producer, ask him (his prices are correct and no tourist taxes!
Otherwise head to Marseillan beach, large beach that joins Sète, (Cap d'Agde side, a small piece is naturist) but 13 kms of beach leaves the choice, this beach is supervised with parking. We always go to Marseillan East or West beach, to the amusement park open in the evening, purify the usual restaurants and ice cream parlours of the beaches...
If sea salt bothers you, try the departmental base of Bessilles 5 minutes from Montagnac for its swimming pool and its multiple possibilities of free picnics (please no barbecue and no throwing cigarette butts), games in the trees, relaxation areas.... And why not dip your feet in a volcano lake (bring sandals) Clermont l'Hérault is 40 minutes away, supervised beach, parking and hiking to the dam. And to finish the week a swim in the river at the Devil's Bridge and a visit to St Guilhem le désert, or even a hike to discover the region from the heights. If you want more relaxing and shady visits, Pezenas (parking and shuttle bus at the entrance of the city), a historical site to visit for those who like to stroll through the almost medieval buildings, an ice cream near the collegiate church of St Jean (church) And of course the cities of Beziers with a cathedral in which you have to show to be higher than in the Arc de Triomphe in Paris. Montpellier by bus (shuttle during the day) parking lot and tram, to find a great metropolis in the south of France, why not a refreshing cinema in apm and discover the nightlife in the streets of the city center tapas, music, ... and its well-known very touristic beaches such as Palavas. Or choose to go further south to Perpignan or Narbonne (35 mins) cross the border to see our Catalan friends, or another possibility, towards Andorra la Vella, plan a day for the journey, take the time for a Spanish meal, do some shopping at "El Pas de la Casa", (famous ski resort), be careful on the way back the customs officers watch for excess cigarettes, and alcohol. V' No you can also go deeper into Spain towards the principality of Andorra and see the Pyrenees.
