LAUBIE — Splendid Views and Absolute Tranquillity Among the Vineyards

A charming stone house, Laubie is located near the village of Saint-Jean-de-Duras in northern Lot-et-Garonne. Just ten kilometers from Duras and its château, and close to the famous medieval village of Eymet in Dordogne, it lies between Bergerac (24), Marmande (47) and Sainte-Foy-la-Grande (33).

Laubie is a large stone-built home, designed, constructed and furnished by Sebastiao, who will welcome you with his warm Portuguese accent. He lives in the adjoining dovecote you can see in the photos. Very discreet, he will not intrude on your stay, as he works as a carpenter in his brother’s company. Together, they crafted the magnificent traditional timber frame of the house, as well as the striking wooden structure separating the spacious living area from the sleeping quarters.

This countryside retreat is ideal for recharging while exploring the many nearby attractions. From the terrace or the light-filled living room with its large bay windows, you can admire breathtaking views that invite relaxation. The bedrooms overlook the vineyards of Domaine Laplace, just 1 km away.

The above-ground pool is set close to the terrace without obstructing the panorama. The spacious garden, which can be enclosed on request, is lined with young olive trees — a nod to Sebastiao’s Portuguese roots.

The House

Lovingly built by Sebastiao between 2012 and 2023, Laubie has been available for rental since 2024.

It features:

A spacious, fully equipped kitchen, opening onto a 100 m² living area with a lounge offering panoramic views over both the landscape and the vineyards;

Three comfortable, light-filled bedrooms;

A large bathroom with a walk-in shower.

Each room is equipped with electric roller shutters for your comfort.

Outdoors, the terrace is furnished with a garden lounge and a barbecue, perfect for meals with a view. For leisure, a ping-pong table, basketball hoop, and trampoline will delight both children and adults.

The above-ground pool, available from mid-April, offers the perfect spot to cool off while enjoying the sweeping views.
