Historic home near lake, parks, shopping and BVU! Perfect for the holidays!

Historic home with all the modern amenities!

As you enter the house for the1st time, you'll be amazed at the stunning kitchen! The kitchen includes a large center island, double ovens, wine fridge and large pantry. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to prepare large family meals. The dining room has seating for 10+ with a table for 8 in the breakfast porch! (kids table anyone?) The breakfast porch includes lots of windows with beautiful views of the lake, breakfast seating, sectional (queen bed pull out) and 55'' flat screen tv. The main level living room includes a wood burning fireplace, two leather couches and a corner table to play cards, jigsaw puzzle or read.

The second level has 4 bedrooms plus a seating area for reading or quiet time away from the action. :-) We have a king bedroom, two queen rooms and a fantastic kids bedroom with their own 50 & 55" TV's! The kids room includes two sets of bunkbeds, large sofa sleeper, small futon, video game console and air hockey table.

As you make your way up the 3rd level staircase, we added an additional bedroom and bathroom. The family room is an excellent option to hang out to watch moves on the 85” flat screen, play cards, foosball or Ms. Pac-Man.

There are yard games, picnic tables, water toys and more in the tuck under garage. The patio includes a gas grill, stand up refreshment cooler and seating for 8 around patio table. We also have a new firepit perfect for the fall nights. S’mores!

There are two washing machines and a dryer in the basement for guest use including a laundry chute for convenience from the kitchen and 2nd level bedrooms.

Our home has something for everyone and the space to spread out.

There’s lots to do in Storm Lake, including hitting the water park, boating and fishing on our beautiful lake. Our home is in walking distance to the downtown area that includes an ice cream parlor, multiple antique shops, an amazing gift shop and more!

We had a great weekend - location is fantastic, so many different comfortable areas in the home to relax, visit, play board games and watch football! Everyone can be happy doing their thing! Kitchen was wonderful, well stocked with everything you need! Host was fantastic!

All good except no soap or shower gel in any of the showers. Excellent stay otherwise. Towels are very nice quality. Perfect for a friends or family gathering.

Elizabeth made check in so very easy for us. She explained everything and was always available for any questions. The kitchen was the best I wish I had it at my house. We’ve stayed in many rentals but this kitchen was supplied beyond belief. Couldn’t have been better. The home was clean and better than expected. I’d stay there again and highly recommend it. Family vacation

We really loved the home. It is very well maintained. Even though it holds much old charm, the kitchen and baths were updated to meet the needs of today. An adequate amount of misc. spices and kitchen supplies was a plus. There were plenty dishes, pans, etc. to cook any meal we wanted. The guys spent every evening in the family room playing cards and the younger boys enjoyed the access to the games.We had the pleasure of meeting one of the owners and he was very diligent with any concerns. Thank you for your attention.

Wonderful Stay

We rented this home for the second time to bring our extended family (kids and grandkids ages 2-8) for a weekend. The house was beautiful, clean, spacious, and had something for everyone to do. The location was great, and communication with the owner was quick and helpful. We would like to stay here again and would highly recommend it to others.

Made our Christmas PERFECT!

This was a perfect location and home for our family. The size was perfect, we had a wonderful time. Full kitchen, well taken care of rooms. It would be nice to have spare blankets. We would get this home again next year if we can!! Host was amazing, cleaning staff did a good job. little cobwebby but given this time of the year we understand that. :) Loved that they decorated it for us for Christmas at the end of January!

Family Christmas

Beautiful home with plenty of space for our family to gather to celebrate Christmas. The kitchen is spacious and well stocked for cooking needs. Felt like home with all the little touches and decorations for the holidays. This is our second stay and will definitely be back!

Perfect forvour purpose

Great mix of old and new in this house. Updated kitchen and bathrroms with old style charm in the rest of the house. Had a famiky grouo of various ages and all enjoyed the stay. Easy to go to Santa's castle and the waterpark whic everyone enjoyed.

Best place to stay!

We stayed at this home for a family get together. The home is amazing and is perfect for any get together or visit to Storm Lake. The host is very responsive and really takes care to make sure your visit is perfect. We were amazed that it is stocked better than any other VRBO we have ever stayed at. The home is also beautifully restored and is incredible on its own. We really all feel this is the most incredible place we have stayed at and love to come back!

Great experience

It was a wonderful property. Everything in the home is absolutely beautiful. The hosts are really nice people as well. There are three beautiful floors to enjoy. Very kid friendly! However, One piece of advice if you are staying with little ones keep an adult with them at all times to prevent accidents! 10/10 for sure!

Perfect Family Home

We referred to this house as a mansion all week because it really is that impressive. It met the needs of everyone in our extended family (6 adults, 4 kids under 6) The main floor has a beautiful kitchen and pantry stocked with everything to prepare full meals including pots, pans, dishes, glasses, dishware for the kids, seasonings. A large dining room for meals and playing games. It also has a huge entryway, great for collecting shoes. A huge sitting room with two large couches and a sun porch with a tv, couch and table where the kids loved to eat. It also has a full bath, with a bathtub. The 2nd floor has 3 bedrooms all with tvs and a game room with 2 bunk beds. It also has a full bathroom with a stand up shower and a sitting area. The third floor has a bedroom with two twin beds and a tv as well as a large hangout area with massive tv, sectional couch and an optional hideaway bed. The home also has a garage with yard games and toys for the kids, a grill, fire pit and outdoor seating and dining. This was the biggest and most well stocked house we have ever stayed in. It truly felt like the owner was letting us stay in her home. I recommend this to everyone.

Home away from home!

We have stayed at this property a few times now and are never disappointed. This time we enjoyed the new bedroom and bathroom on the top floor - a great add! Beautiful home with plenty of space for everyone to spread out (including teens). We always have everything we need, and it's walking distance to the lake and downtown. Outstanding property!

Family reunion

We were welcomed to an extremely clean and beautifully decorated and updated home! We had our 80 year old parents with us and they loved the amount of room we had to visit and spread out. Everyone’s favorite room was the living room. We also enjoyed the welcome bottle of wine!

Beautiful house

We were actually in town for my husband's father's funeral. This house made things easier as we could all be together. The kids loved the room with bunks and games. The adults enjoyed having rooms to spread out in. The kitchen is wonderful and well supplied. Everyone agreed that we want to come back.

Great place for large group

Ten of my university students who were in Storm Lake for a week-long field experience in the school district stayed at this home and they LOVED the space. Very comfortable, a lot of different spaces for the whole group as well as separate areas for alone time. Lots of TVs were a bonus, as well as options for sleeping arrangements. Plenty of accessible parking, and good location close to the lake, downtown, and schools. Gorgeous home and great host!
