35% Off Nightly Rate - Jan and Feb 2026 - BIG CAMP AT THE WATER

Designer Fish Camp - Can it be? YES, we call it the Big Camp. Large party room downstairs with full length bar and pool table. The upstairs is spacious with the most comfortable couch (in my opinion) in Hackberry. The kitchen will accommodate all chefs with a large wood table to serve up the fixings. Windows abound in the living room with views of the water. You can have your guide pick you up from the pier or for those that bring a boat, you can keep your boat right outside on the boat lift. You have access to a shared boat dock/fishing pier. The dock/pier is located between House 1 and House 2 on the aerial photo.
Cameras are located outside and in the garage area.

This home was fabulous. Plenty of space for everyone and many activities to enjoy. The outdoor space is fantastic. Our host was very communicative and friendly. Will definitely stay there again.

Big Camp

Great House! Property was clean, comfortable, cery warm and inviting! , it had all the necessary kitchen needs, House is right next to the ship channel! Great view of all the ships passing by! If you need anything Browns grocery is close by! Bruce left some amazing gumbo for us! We will definitely return and recommend him!! Great place to spend our anniversary and husbands birthday!!!

4th Celebration

Truly enjoyed every aspect of this beautiful property. Evenings outside dockside were amazing. Well equipped kitchen with lots of countertop space. The downstairs bar/gaming room was very inviting as we spend lots of time in this room . The views were great of the ship channel and the dockside canal. 5 Stars !!!

Beautiful property and the best host!

We had a baseball team stay at this property and some of Bruce’s other properties near by and had the best stay! He was so attentive and very responsive to any questions or concerns and the property is just as described. Beautiful and very relaxing!! Thanks for a great stay!

Terrific!

The camp is as advertised with every convenience of home plus some. It was luxurious, not to mention clean and in a quiet neighborhood. If you’re lucky like we were, you’ll get the opportunity to taste Bruce’s seafood gumbo! It was fantastic! Seasoned to perfection!

Guys Trip successful!

Had the most amazing stay here. The host Bruce was so accommodating. Made sure everything was taken care of and responded immediately with any questions we had. Fishing was amazing! Not only can you fish out back, there is a private pier right next door that is all yours to use. Already planning our next trip here!

Great stay on the Lake

This property and host are first rate. Bruce went out of his way to communicate details about the check in and amenities of the property. All the details were spot on. The house was very clean, nicely furnished and well supplied. I give this stay an all around 5 star. On top of that the fishing was excellent.

5 Star Rental

The property was completely as advertised. It was very clean and well maintained. The views were excellent and the pool table was an added attraction. The kitchen had everything you could wish for in utensils and cookware including a Keurig coffee maker and an abundant seasoning selection. The amenities were very good including personal care items. Bruce was a great host and readily accessible by phone.

Excellent for larger groups

The property was very clean and well prepared. Owner was very responsive to all communication and did more than required to be accomodating. Downstairs bar area was a huge plus for hanging out and the boatlift is definitely convenient. The wharf on the ship channel was definitely a nice place to just hang out and fish.

Great Experience

We had a group of 12 that stayed down here for a fishing trip. The house was large, clean, and set up awesome. Best part was its located directly on the water. The guides picked us up at the house and we were able to fish off the dock at night time. I would defiantly stay there again!

Hidden gem

What an amazing place!!! It’s the perfect spot for some dock fishing. Short drive to lake Charles and holly beach. We overly enjoyed our stay. Communication with the house owner Bruce was beyond simple.

Fantastic Property

This is the perfect stay for any occasion. The “big camp” had everything we needed and more, even has an ice machine. Bruce was awesome! We had trouble finding guides because we booked only a few weeks before. He made the arrangements and had us hooked up with a great group of guides. Planning to make the “big camp” a home away from home in Hackberry!

A Spring Break to Remember

We had a spectacular friends and family trip to Hackberry! The property was 5 star and the property manager Bruce was kind and helpful throughout the process. We fished and enjoyed cooking and hanging around the house. The house had everythig you can imagine including pots/pans and all the things a cajun cook needs. We can not wait to visit again!

Pictures don’t do it justice!

This house and property was absolutely perfect for our bachelor party weekend, but we all also thought the house would be perfect for a relaxing getaway. This house has a huge dock that isn’t pictured that’s great to cast some lines and catch some fish. The bar area with the pool table was an amazing place to catch up with friends. The living room and kitchen area is unbelievable! The house was completely spotless from top to bottom. The owner is very responsive and interactive with any conversation I had with him. He never missed a phone call and would text me back within minutes about any questions I had. All in all, we couldn’t have enjoyed our stay any more! As the title states, pictures do not do this house justice!
