Historic 1920's Medina River 7,000sf Hacienda style stone ranch home, 5 minutes from downtown Bandera. 7 acres with PRIVATE Medina River access. This is a very large and hospitable home/property for any size gathering.

Base price includes the MAIN HOUSE with 4 BEDROOMS/4 BATHS/10 GUESTS. We have 4 ADDITIONAL LARGE PRIVATE ROOMS w/attached baths available @ an additional cost as needed! These are located directly behind main house upstairs over the garage. We can sleep up to 25+ guests! Would you like to have a small intimate wedding or large family reunion? This is your place! We have 4 additional large private bedrooms w/attached baths available @ an additional cost as needed! Each large room is unique, with different sized beds, etc. So we can customize your stay based on your groups sleeping arrangements/needs so that everyone will be comfortable, at the right price. The total interior square footage is 7,000sf, and we can sleep up to 25+ guests. There are 2 kitchens, 8 bedrooms, 8 bathrooms, and several large outdoor gathering areas. This is a true Texas gem.
Also the Bandera area choice PRIVATE Medina river access. A 5 minute hike through our beautiful pecan and peach orchard will lead you to your private river spot. Or, a 2/10 mile drive directly to within feet of the rope swing! There is no comparable property.
Plus, you are a 5 minute drive to grocery, shopping, restaurants, bars, and live music in THE COWBOY CAPITOL, Bandera, TX. This sweet village is the last vestige of real Texas.
For nature lovers, our private Highland Waters 2 mile river greenbelt begins at this property! Lost Maples, Hill Country Natural Area, Garner State Park, Old Tunnel State Park, and much, much more is close by.

We had 4 generations together - 8 week old baby to 88 yr old great grandmother and it meant our needs perfectly. We live the dual kitchens, large living room and access to to the beautiful Medina River. Out door fireplace was a huge hit as well.

Plenty of room and it’s all clean. Comfy beds, ceiling fans, nice towels, intriguing decor, lots of areas for small groups, and beautiful grounds. Great attention to detail. Plus private access to the river. Would be great for a church retreat, wedding venue, etc. Highly recommend.

Amazing Property!

Alan was great to work with. He was always very quick to respond to any questions/concerns. We rented the entire property for 3 nights/4 days. There were 22 adults, a teenager and three small dogs. We never felt like we were stepping all over each other, as the place has lots of little spaces to visit and chat. It was very clean, had all the amenities you would need and the river access is AMAZING! Private, shaded, clean, clean water. It was a perfect weekend. Would definitely rent again.

I can't say enough nice things about this property. There was plenty of room for 13 adults to each have their own bed. There was room outside for us to socialize and eat. The kitchens (yes, there are 2!) both had everything we needed

Amazing Stay

We had a group of 14 (7 couples). Everyone had plenty of room, each couple had a bedroom and bathroom. The entire property was amazing. Very nice. The Host was amazing. Met us right on time, gave us a quick tour and was available with text communication during our stay. We will definitely book again.

Family Mini Vacation

Great, large property with plenty of space to hangout. Lounge in the great room with a view to the courtyard or hangout outside with plenty of seating and outdoor fireplace. Located just outside of town for a nice quiet stay. Five minutes to Bandera and 15 minutes to Medina. Alan is a great host who stays in contact with you during your stay. Always making sure you’re taken care of! We will definitely stay here again.

Family Christmas

The property fit our needs comfortably. There were 19 of us who met for a family Chistmas get together. The bedroom/bathroom combination was excellent. The game room, dining room and two kitchens were comfortable for our game playing, preparing meals and eating. We enjoyed the outdoor fireplace and river as the weather was very pleasant. Alan is a wonderful host and very attentive. We would definitely stay here again.

Great place

I have been staying at this property since the early 90s. The new owners have done an amazing job. Check in was easy, property is amazing, and checkout/clean-up was easy. Great communication by the owners. River is amazing in this area. Great place. Let’s me give my kids the same memories I have as a child.

How did you find this place?!

Everyone kept asking me upon arrival. It’s a gem. Cold AC, comfortable beds, goats on property to feed and interact with. Outdoor fireplace… I didn’t ask but it looks like an old hotel or boarding house that was made out of an addition to an early 1900s frontier house. Original structure has had bedrooms and kitchens added. There are so many nooks and covered patios and decks to sit and enjoy. The main structure has 4 bedrooms and 4 full baths. Theres a main kitchen and a backup one for drinks and overflow. Four couples stayed the first night then another three rooms were opened up for us to use so folks could enjoy themselves late into the night. The river was flowing. The falls were beautiful. Alan was the best. Super attentive and right up the road. Really, Alan, you made it all so easy. Highly recommend for a family or bday get together or even a board retreat. It’s got 8 bedrooms and if people are sharing, you can fit 25 people in beds. Can’t wait to come back. Sidebar - Arkey Blue’s was popping off on Saturday and it was a great birthday. Thank you,

The jewel of Bandera!

Our group of 11 spent a few days at the DH River Lodge in Jan 2024 during the Bandera 100k ultramarathon. This place was absolutely fantastic! The property was clean and well-prepared for our arrival. We had everything we needed for our stay. Things that we particularly liked: -The Great Room was awesome for hanging out. -Everyone had there own private bathroom. -The kitchen and dining room were huge. -The host Alan was super-responsive to all our ?'s. I would absolutely recommend the DH River Lodge for anyone spending some time in Bandera. The whole group kept asking me how I found this jewel of a place. Book you stay and you won't be disappointed.

Private and out

Great location to town, far enough out to be perfectly private. Nearby road not necessarily noticeable with lower traffic. Outer property and access to the Medina R. was great. Property mgmt great to deal with.

Siblings family vacation

Very pleased with the home, great family area to sit and talk around the fireplace and different sitting areas in The same room, loved how each room had its own bathroom and just very inviting. Great outdoor area. Will definitely be booking again. Great communication with the property manager and very helpful.
