Great Hosts

The house is in a great location with a great view of the small lake. There were a few glitches that our hosts quickly attended to fix. Can’t say enough about our hosts doing everything in their power to accommodate us. In spite of the “hiccups’ our stay was very pleasant. I would recommend staying there with any size family. Lots of beds and fun and entertainment options available.

Peaceful, rural, abode

A welcoming property than can accomodate a broad range of needs. Be prepared to turn on wi-fi calling or travel down the road for cell- service. The owners are very responsive and strive to provide excellent customer service and a fun vacation.

Awesome Lakeview Lodge vacation!

We greatly enjoyed the property! Great views of the lake. Walking distance to the lake - great for kayaking and paddle boarding. Plenty of room in the cabin. Lots of fun games at the cabin. Convenient location to nearby grocery store and gas station.

Lake house lodge

Great property close to Vallecito lake and has a great pond right in front of property with great fishing. Had a great time there! Wonderful hosts couldn't ask for better!

Perfect Thanksgiving vacation!

I don’t think we could have found a better place. I have 3 teenagers and they would have been perfectly happy staying in the whole week. This place had everything we needed! It was so comfortable and cozy!

Perfect for our large group!

We just got home from our stay here and my kids are already asking when we can go back! The house had a great layout for our large group and plenty of places for everyone to sleep. The house was well stocked with everything we could have needed. We saw so many deer and loved the lake across the street! All around beautiful place! The only reason for 4/5 stars on cleanlisness was due to the large amount of garbage the was smelling up the garage. We didnt let it imact our stay though and look forward to another visit in the future!

Perfect for Families

We stayed with our friends at this home while we visited the Santa Train. Hosts were helpful in changing dates, but then had to contact host the day of to get check-in info. The house has SO MUCH potential to truly be amazing, but it needs a good cleaning and organizing. It was challenging to find items when cooking and we ended up accident leaving two personal items that the Hosts were never able to find. Overall, it met our needs for young children and had a great time. The listing also mentions an outdoor hottub, so we all brought swim suits, but there was none.

Wooded Retreat

This property was perfectly tucked away within the addition with a beautiful view of Simpatico lake. Deer roamed throughout our stay, which made the morning coffee scenic and interesting. The kids thoroughly enjoyed all the games and this made for some relaxing evenings for us adults. The only downside was the property seemed a bit quirky and unfinished with random light switches, tile, door frames, and other minor details. All in all, we were happy with our stay!

Birds in the flue!

This house overall was set up nice for families, plenty to occupy children. Unfortunately the housekeeping is lacking a lot. It could use a good cleaning. The beds and bathrooms were acceptable. I think if some attention was payed to this issue a higher price could be asked.The location is awkward in relationship to the nieghbors. Dont go to the wrong house! The remodel job leaves a lot to be desired, the yellow tape holding the floor trim down will catch your eye! We did release the birds before we left! I would recommend covering the chimney.

Disappointed

The property did not live up to the description or standards that I expected. I received no check-in instructions from the owner. Upon arriving I found the house locked with no instructions. Because cell phone service was poor I had to drive several miles to get service to be able to contact owner and get code to unlock the garage door which was the access to the house. Problems with the property included the following: 3 trash cans of smelly garbage left in garage. I notified owner on the second day and it was removed the next morning, house needed to be cleaned better, floors were dirty, furniture was dusty, nail trimmings on the downstairs couch, spider webs in windows, laundry room was a mess with bedding still in dryer, socks left in the floor in downstairs bedroom, un - emptied trash can in bedroom, previous guest opened food containers in refrigerator, towels not in all bathrooms, we had to replace several light bulbs, only one light above dining room table worked, ants in master bathroom, uncovered electrical outlets and vents, only one pool cue usable due to missing tip, (we found some glue and did glue the tip to another cue so it could be used),no hot tub as listed on description of amenities. Overall the house just looked like it hasn’t been maintained or cleaned properly in a while. The location was good and we did enjoy fishing and paddle boarding in the lake. However due to the uncleanliness of the house we will not come back or recommend others to do so.

Wonderful forest getaway!!

Our party of 10 really enjoyed this wonderful forest getaway!! The cabin was perfect!!! Everyone had fun staying here and loved the scavenger game that the host left for us, the pool table, karaoke and zipline in the backyard!! The beds were comfortable and there was enough room for everyone. We didn't get to fish or use the paddle boards available in the cabin but looking forward to doing it next time. The wild life around the cabin, lake and breathtaking views were amazing!! The cabin is equipped with everything you need to enjoy a great time. Our destination was Durango to Silverton train, which is about a 30 minute drive from the cabin, after the train trip we were going to stay in Durango and explore there but we loved the cabin so much and it's surrounding areas that we headed back there instead. We highly recommend this beautiful place and we will definitely come back!! Special thanks to the host for the wonderful hospitality!!!

Family Friendly Forest Home

Getting to the house took a bit longer than expected, but once there it was totally worth the extra time. The owners are easy to reach and very accommodating. The house is perfect for a family with kids. The views are beautiful and picture worthy. The owner even brought our kids fishing poles for the small lake directly across the street! However, since becoming a vacation home they have been continually booked (airb..) and I think this has made it a challenge to maintain the cleanliness and basic upkeep of the home. It wasn't terrible but I am sure it can be better. Many little thing we're needing attention which is hard when one family leaves at 11 and the next checks in a few hours later. The beds downstairs could be upgraded - they made it for a rough night's sleep. The fridge was filled with the left overs from other guests it was hard to find space for our own groceries. But these are things that can be easily fixed cause the house itself is GREAT! My large family would definitely stay here again - in the hopes that the beds are replaced.

Perfect vacation home for families

After mother nature deterred us from Yellowstone we scrambled to find an alternate vacation location. Our host for the house in Bayfield, Co was overwhelmingly helpful and accommodating. This house is perfect for families. I would highly recommend this property.

Perfect House for Teens and Adults

We rented this house because of the activities for teens, which were great. The number of bedrooms and bathrooms made a stay with 9 people as easy as it could be. The view of the lake from the back porch was exceptional The hosts were great and very accommodating . I would highly recommend this property.
