Located on the 3rd floor of a former mansion, this 36 m² cocoon with its refined and contemporary atmosphere is perfectly designed to accommodate two travellers in search of charm, comfort and tranquillity. As soon as you walk through the door, you are greeted by light: the high ceilings and south-west exposure flood the space with warm light from morning until the last rays of the sun. From the living room, simply step up to the window to watch the city come to life before your eyes: Place des Carmes bustles with passers-by, and when you look up, the spire of Rouen Cathedral stands proudly against the sky.
The bright living room is a true haven of relaxation, where you immediately feel at home. Sink into the sofa to watch your favourite programmes on television, share a drink or enjoy a good meal at the dining table in the living room, while enjoying the view and atmosphere of the square. Adjacent to the living room, the bedroom offers an intimate cocoon with a 140x190 cm double bed, ideal for resting after a day of sightseeing and waking up gently, in peace and quiet, above the city. Right next door, the bathroom has a bathtub and toilet, for a welcome moment of comfort and relaxation at the end of the day. As soon as you enter, the semi-open kitchen invites you to make yourself at home: fully fitted and equipped (washing machine, dishwasher, combination oven and microwave, refrigerator, Nespresso coffee machine, toaster, kettle), it allows you to easily prepare a gourmet breakfast, a romantic dinner for two or a simple coffee to enjoy by the window. Ironing equipment is also available in the large cupboards in the entrance hall to ensure that everything remains impeccable during your stay.
From Place des Carmes, you can explore Rouen on foot: the cathedral is just a few minutes away, as are the pedestrian streets, shops, restaurants and main attractions of the historic centre. The Town Hall car park is just a 5-minute walk away for easy parking, and Rouen train station is a 15-minute walk away, convenient for both your arrival and departure. There is no private parking available with the accommodation, but if you wish, you can park your vehicle in the surrounding streets at the applicable rates or in the Town Hall car park near the accommodation at the applicable rates.
Bed linen and towels are provided so that you can travel light and enjoy your stay to the full. The accommodation is managed by the L'ArchiDuchesse concierge service, available 7 days a week from 10:00 to 12:30 and from 14:00 to 21:00, to answer your questions and assist you throughout your stay. We kindly ask you to take care of the accommodation and to respect the premises and the neighbourhood. You will be asked to provide your bank details via a secure link to finalise your booking and obtain the access codes to the accommodation. If you wish to extend your stay, a one-off fee of €10 may be applied for early arrival or late departure, subject to availability and prior agreement from our concierge team. Most of the must-see sights are within a few minutes' walk of your accommodation: Notre-Dame Cathedral — 5 mins, Saint-Maclou district — 2 mins, the Old Market — 10 mins and Rouen Rive Droite train station — 15 mins. The centre of Rouen is very pleasant for walking, with its pedestrian streets and small squares.
A stone's throw from the square, you will find several public transport stops:
- Metro / TEOR (TCAR): fast service to the station, the left bank, shopping centres and the main districts.
- Bus: numerous lines pass around the square, allowing you to reach any part of the city with ease.
Self-service bicycle rental stations (Cy'clic) are located nearby, allowing you to explore the city in a different way.
The neighbourhood is in the city centre, so parking is mainly available on the street (paid during office hours) or in nearby public car parks (Parking République, Parking Opéra, Parking du Vieux-Marché). As Rouen is a city with narrow streets, it is often easier to park and then walk.
