Our mountain-side lodge is on 5 private acres, nestled along a creek with views of the wild Appalachian Mtns from the expansive porch. You'll have all you need to revel in your Snowshoe adventure or just cozy up and listen to the creek rolling by! The Snowshoe Mountain Resort, the Raven Golf Club, and endless other outdoor adventures are just minutes away. Relax in your secluded lodge with expansive wrap around patio with mountain views from the hot tub, a private hiking trail, a cold plunge pool built into the year round creek below, and two outdoor fire pits.

Most Snowshoe rentals are ski cabins. Birch Valley is designed to be a year-round mountain retreat. The natural cold plunge pool on our private trail is one-of-a-kind in the area — fly anglers love the proximity to the Elk River headwaters,
mountain bikers and other outdoor recreation enthusiasts use the cold plunge for recovery after the Bike Park or long day out, and fall foliage travelers come for the views from the porch.

SPRING AND SUMMER:
Snowshoe Bike Park is one of the top-ranked downhill mountain biking destinations in the East and a former UCI World Cup venue. We have secure mountain bike storage, a dedicated bike wash station, and a drying rack for muddy gear. Ten minutes to Raven Golf Club (Gary Player designed course). Shavers Lake for kayaking and paddling. The Elk River — one of the most respected limestone-spring trout streams in the East — is minutes away for fly anglers. After a hot day, our private creek has a natural cold plunge pool that provides true refreshment.

FALL:
Pocahontas County foliage typically peaks October 4–11. We're minutes from the Highland Scenic Highway — one of the best leaf drives in West Virginia. Cass Scenic Railroad steam train is a 30-minute drive (book ahead in October). Watoga State Park, Cranberry Glades, and Seneca State Forest are all day-trip distance.

WINTER:
Ten minutes to Snowshoe Mountain Resort. Boot dryers for wet ski gear. Mountain bike storage doubles as a ski and snowboard rack. 4WD is required during winter. The hot tub views of the snow are the kind of thing that ends up on your camera roll.
