The perfect get away for a cosy break, close to the mountains for the adventurous: cosy, relaxing and quiet if you would rather curl up in front of the fire and look at the mountains from the comfort of your sofa. A 5 minute drive will take you to the Silent Valley, the quaint fishing village of Annalong, the bustling town of Kilkeel and many excellent places to dine out. A 15 minute drive to the beautiful seaside town of Newcastle with its many shops, eateries and ice cream shops is a must. Fully equipped kitchen, smart TV and log burner - everything you would need for a home from home break away.

Christmas Getaway 2024

Great wee cottage with everything you need for a relaxing break including a secure area for the dog to explore. Location is perfect for exploring the mournes area and we will definitely be back.

Fantastic stay

Lovely modern cottage at the foot of the Mourne Mountains. Semi rural and so peaceful although only 5 mins drive into Kilkeel to a great supermarket and shops. Fantastic for our 2 dogs as garden is fully enclosed so we didnt have to worry about them escaping. Highly recommended for s short break.

A beautiful, cosy, clean and modern cottage. Outstanding host who helped ensure our stay was of the highest standard. Breathtaking location and wonderfully peaceful. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back!

Cozy home and great location

This home was a great base for hiking in the Mourne Mountains! The owner even provided us with walking/hiking poles :)

Cozy cottage in the country!

Loved the cottage as it was clean and welcoming. The host also left a wonderful selection of cookies and coffee, which was greatly appreciated. The location is wonderful for visiting many other locations in the area.

Wonderful

The cottage is a warm and welcoming place to walk into. Certainly well above standards you would usually get. The whole place is clean and has really great shower plus really comfy beds. Would really recommend.

Great stay!!!!

This place was a little sluce of Heaven for the beginning of our stay in Northern Ireland. The hosts were amazing and even helped us by letting us borrow a phone charger because we didnt have the right adapter from US. Please dont hesitate to stay here. It has everything you need and is close to New Castle. Also, when you go make sure to get to the Galley restaurant nearby!

Fabulous cottage

We had an amazing long weekend at the cottage. Beautifully decorated, photos don't do it justice. Very clean, all mod cons, dog proof garden. Highly recommended. We will definitely be back

Lovely stay

We are just back from a lovely stay in Bracken cottage, the cottage itself is so nice, plenty of space, lovely decor and in a quiet area with mountains views, just stunning. Everything you could need is there and we were there alot thanks to our great weather but it was so cosy. I have to say this is genuinely the 1st place we have brought our dog and felt he was properly secured and was able to enjoy the garden which he throughly did. The cottage is 5 mins back to the main road and central to both annalong & kilkeel but perfect for exploring futher afield. We really enjoyed our stay! ❤️

Pet safe get away!!

This cosy cottage is well equipped with everything you would need for that get away break. The property's grounds are well enclosed and pet safe. Silent Valley is just up the road. If you feel the need to get in touch with the host, messaging Aileen is straightforward with a response in tip top time. Will definately be back. Just home a day and missing the place already!!! Thankyou Aileen.

Well equipped & located cottage

Lovely cottage close to the Mournes. Well equipped kitchen with a great shower and solid Wifi and a SmartTV. Great host communications with a handy guide to walking in the Mournes. Literally the only thing I would add is a proper chef's knife for the kitchen - but that's a quibble. (The cottage isn't really walking distance to the village, but it's just a five minute drive into Kilkeel. Please note if you're coming with a dog - some parts of the Mournes do not allow dogs - even on leash).

Lovely property and pet friendly so perfect for what we needed. Close to Silent Valley and the Mournes if that is your reason for staying. Definitely recommend.

The cottage

The cottage was exactly as advertised. We really enjoyed our stay. It was really nice to have safe parking. The location was what we were looking for. Aileen (the host) was very responsive to our requests. We would certainly stay there again.....
