Menehune Shores beachfront is located directly onshore of an Ancient Hawaiian fishpond. This makes for great swimming, and perfect for families with children as the break wall keeps the waters inside nice and calm. Guests can enjoy an oceanfront pool, beautiful grassy areas and shuffleboard courts. The rooftop deck, which features BBQ grills with picnic tables and tiki torches. Head to the ground-floor where you will find an Indian restaurant and full bar, or walk next door to take a tour of the Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary.

BEACHES & CRITTERS: The beach size in Hawaii varies month to month due to weather, heavy surf, strong currents, and tides. Due to Maui's rural setting, you may experience the occasional rooster, as well as harmless geckos. Geckos are friendly, eat insects, and are considered good luck in Hawaii. Please don't kill them. Although the HOA schedules regular professional pest control services, pests such as ants, roaches and rodents simply cannot be completely controlled in the tropics. Maui is in a tropical climate. If our guest spot more than the normal expected pests, we always make our best efforts to contact and work with the HOA to minimize your interactions with these pests. Any contact with such pests within or outside the unit does not constitute a breach of this Agreement or give Guest any right to any refund or rental adjustment.

Great views. Our stay was unfortunately marred by Maui weather. Torrential rains meant no power for 48 hours and mud filled the street in front of the condo so much that we were trapped there for 36 hours. The water line to the fridge was also leaking, so we reported that. Property managers fixed it promptly. Given this property is at risk of mud we would never go back. Plenty of other properties had no issues whatsoever.

Good place to stay in Kihei
We have been going to Menehune for decades and this spot was great/ good upgrades and the property management team was fantastic.
The lanai could use a refresh as well but all in all a great place to stay!

My family and I have been staying at the Menehune Shores for the past 5 years and the location is just perfect for us. The access to the protected beach is a huge reason for our stay there. The property itself was perfect for us. Each room has their own separate AC, fully stocked kitchen and everything you need to have a great holiday. The Management Property was top notched and was very quick to answer questions we had. The view was just amazing as always and we were fortunate enough to stay during a couple of full moons where you can see the light from the moon shining down and lighting up the ocean from our balcony. On a side note, our unit is not as close to the ocean as others but your view will still be beautiful and you’ll still be able to sleep while hearing the crashing waves at night. Don’t let that be a reason not to stay here unless that is your absolute deal breaker. The photos you see online is just as described.

Nice apartment, quiet - needs a fix
The apartment needs a fix - bad order smells coming from the bathroom by the kitchen - might just be it needs a plumbing fix - smelled bad even after we asked to have it cleaned a second time. Might be a sewage issue. Other than that we enjoyed the apartment (with windows open) and the ocean views.

Condo is nice. Beach is very rocky and snorkeling is not good here! The rental agency gave me the wrong address in the text so know where you’re going without relying on them! My daughter’s boyfriend had proposed during this trip and upon departing he left the wedding band on the dinner room table. He then realized he had accidentally left it and I immediately starting calling and emailing everyone I could to try and find the ring! The cleaning company claims nothing was found but I had video proof and sent a screen shot of said ring on the table so if you leave something definitely don’t expect them to be honest and return something!!!! I even went as far as to knock on the door when the new people were there and this very nice elderly lady looked for the ring but no luck!

This is a long overdue review. The photos provided are very outdated. Since it is advertised as a new listing I expected it to be as pictured, it is not. Furniture is old and damaged, lots of wear and tear. They supplied beach chairs, they were also full of trash and empty beer cans. Condo was also a mess but they rushed to let us check in early (as I requested prior to booking) but they seemed to not recall. The location is ok, the front desk closes early so you can’t get your parking pass. The pool I would rate a 3/5, dirty pool and old lounge chairs and tables. The morning after arriving I woke up at 5am to get water and when I turned the light on, cockroaches ran in every direction. I relocated after showering and packing. There was mold in the shower as well and vents were covered in dust and dirt.
For this price I expected much more. Had to find a hotel for 2 nights before finding another location. I was on my baby moon with my husband and 2 yr old. Property manager took hours to return my calls and text. I was already in a hotel by then.
